Well I don't get it here. I just get that random moment where it doesn't

Does this include the sudden crashes? JAWS 10 died just opening your reply!
I had just had to reboot less than an hour ago and the only application I
had opened was Windows Mail!

1. Select the range you want to copy.
2. To do this hit control G, the beginning cells, colon, and then the
ending cells.
3. You will then be in this selected range, then use your copy and paste
method, this should do the trick. If you need any more help, email me off
list and I will send you the tutorials that I have. Based on the fact that
we use to run a group together, you should have my email address.

[JAWS-Users] JAWS & Superscript

2009-03-19 Thread Donnie Parrett
I would appreciate it if someone would read the devotional below and let me
know if you are having
the same problem that I am having. It seems to be that everywhere there is an
apostrophe, JAWS is
saying the word "superscript." I would love to know how to stop JAWS from
doing that. Thanks for
your help.

Here is the devotional.

Daily E-Votional
Thursday, Mar. 19
John 8:21-32

I am continually reminded of the power of a Christian community. Especially
at the time of loss, one¹s community of faith help the heartbroken find
their way thru the difficult time. Personally, I don¹t know what I would
have done without my faith or my community of faith in all of the things
I¹ve been thru in life. I think that my children have learned the same
thing. The Christian community becomes the support we need to hold us up
when it feels like we have nothing left to give. The Christian community
just falls into action and is ready to step up and do their part when they
see a brother or sister hurting. It may be through the gift of meals or just
spending time listening. It doesn¹t take years of college or special degrees
to act in love toward those who are hurting. Today and tomorrow I will be
officiating at two services of witness to the resurrection. As I watch the
love of the congregation spill over and around those who are hurting, it
just makes me proud of the community of faith.

For some, maybe most, seeing is believing. If there is not hard and fast
proof, it is difficult to wrap our heads around what is and what isn¹t. The
disciples were confused with the messages Jesus was giving. Some of it
sounded so out there; outside of their own experiences. Two thousand years
later, we are still a people who want hard and fast evidence.
When have you been in a very rough place in life? Who were the people who
stayed in touch with you? What are some of the things they did to try to
make you feel better? When have you been overwhelmed with the care that
others have given you? When have you witnessed a friend being in need? What
sort of ways did you try to comfort them? Who are some people you know who
are in need of your support this day? Have a day!

For the Confirmation Group: If church people showed up at your house, would
you be glad to see them or worried that they were going to do something
weird? When have you seen church people help others? In what ways do you
think you might be able to help a woman who is elderly and who lives alone?
Do you believe that a church exists to serve you or a church exists to serve
others?

In Conversation with a child today: Ask a child to tell you what things
they can do to help their neighbors

I would appreciate it if someone would read the devotional below and let me
know if you are having
the same problem that I am having. It seems to be that everywhere there is
an apostrophe, JAWS is
saying the word "superscript." I would love to know how to stop JAWS from
doing that. Thanks for

23 Jesus said, ³You¹re tied down to the mundane; I¹m in touch with what is
beyond your horizons. You live in terms of what you see and touch. I¹m
living
on other terms. 24 I told you that you were missing God in all this.
You¹re at
a dead end. If you won¹t believe I am who I say I am, you¹re at the dead
end
of sins. You¹re missing God in your lives.²

Prayer: We love you, O God, and we thank you for surrounding us with

in all that we do and say. Amen

I'm hearing this superscript thing too. Apostrophe's and quotes sometimes
get mangled in the JAWS translation.

Hi Donny,

It's saying it here also, but I think Jaws is reading it as a number 1, as
in a footnote character, not as an apostrophe.

Did you type the apostrophe at that spot? It seems like the character you
wanted to type isn't exactly what you got.

Re: [JAWS-Users] "the video intercept manager dot dot dot"

2009-03-19 Thread Derek Roberts

Hi,

That is a program that "hooks" into your computer display drivers and gives
jaws information about what's on your screen. If you remove it, which I
don't think it is even possible to do unless your jaws got corrupted, your
jaws will stop functioning entirely. If you did succeed in removing it and
wanted to reinstall, you would need to reinstall jaws or if you still have a
version that can repair, repair jaws.

Re: [JAWS-Users] copying and pasting within exell

2009-03-19 Thread Ms. Roopakshi Pathania

Hi,

You use the same key strokes for copying and pasting in Excel, as you would in
a word document.
While on the cell C1, hold down the Shift key and press right arrow once to
select the next cell D1. Keep holding the Shift key till you right arrow till
the cell G1.
Press CTRL+C to copy the cells.

Going to what I told you before, I forgot I did delete the file that
carried the virus before I ran the restore. Alternately, you can try to
repair your Jaws in case it is the program. You can do that by hitting
the installation, and you'll get to the selection where it'll ask you, if
you want to modify, repair, or I think reinstall. Just hit the repair. I

[JAWS-Users] PAC Mate

2009-03-19 Thread Riley Blake
Oh yeah, you can use third party programs. I have a few on my PAC Mate right
now. You can also use the PAC Mate to control a computer running JAWS. I
haven't played with this feature too much.

This is a little off topic for the list though.

Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS & Superscript

2009-03-19 Thread Deb Caldbeck
Just a suggestion: On one of my other lists, several years ago we had this
same problem. If I remember correctly, we determined that the poet was
using a Mac without special software, and the rest of us were Windows XP
users. Could this be the problem?

Time flies like an arrow. However, fruit flies like bananas.

Hi Donny,

It's saying it here also, but I think Jaws is reading it as a number 1, as
in a footnote character, not as an apostrophe.

Did you type the apostrophe at that spot? It seems like the character you
wanted to type isn't exactly what you got.

When i got xp, there were lists of things to change in the control panel to
make jaws work better with it. Now, I'm playing with a new laptop with

I would appreciate it if someone would read the devotional below and let me
know if you are having
the same problem that I am having. It seems to be that everywhere there is
an apostrophe, JAWS is
saying the word "superscript." I would love to know how to stop JAWS from
doing that. Thanks for

23 Jesus said, ³You¹re tied down to the mundane; I¹m in touch with what is
beyond your horizons. You live in terms of what you see and touch. I¹m
living
on other terms. 24 I told you that you were missing God in all this.
You¹re at
a dead end. If you won¹t believe I am who I say I am, you¹re at the dead
end
of sins. You¹re missing God in your lives.²

Do you believe that a church exists to serve you or a church exists to serve
others?

they can do to help their neighbors

Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS & Superscript

2009-03-19 Thread Donald Marang
I don't hear the superscript when I read this message. I am using the
latest release of JAWS 10. My first thought was that it might not happen to
me since my standard voice is the Karen Real Speak Solo Direct voice and I
use a custom speech profile. But I changed the synthesizer and the speech
scheme back to primary and Classic and it still did not say superscript.
The only way I could get the message to improperly say superscript was to
switch to JAWS 9, switch to the Eloquence synthesizer, and the Classic
speech profile.

I think the previous instructions on modifying the speech scheme has the
best chance of success.

Yes, mine also says, "Super script". Funny, the only thing I can remember
Jaws doing with the Apostrophe before, is to have called it "Single quote".

I wonder what that was composed on?

The character probably looks a bit like an apostrophe and might have been
selected from a list of symbols by the author rather than from the keyboard.

I am not familiar with the PDA keyboards to know if they have an apostrophe
key. If composed on something like a smart phone one selects from a menu of
symbols and that may have been the one the author selected because of it's
appearance.

Do you believe that a church exists to serve you or a church exists to serve
others?

they can do to help their neighbors

[JAWS-Users] Outlook Express Adding Addresses

2009-03-19 Thread Annette Carr
I am not an Outlook Express user, but a friend of mine is. I looked on the
tips and tricks page for the answers to her question, but did not see what
she needed, so I am turning to the OE experts on the list.

My friend would like to know how to do 2 things in OE.

1. How to add a new address in the address book when you have a message
from someone.

2. How to manually add an address to the address book.

My friend is a beginner user of JAWS and all things computers.

Thanks in advance.

[JAWS-Users] JAWS and Classmates.com

2009-03-19 Thread Lynn Golightly
Hello. I went to the classmates.com website and attempted to register. I'm
using JAWS 8 and couldn't seem to get into forms mode by pressing enter when
I was supposed to enter my name, e-mail, etc. Has anyone else out there had
any success with this site using JAWS? Thanks.

Re: [JAWS-Users] driver updates

2009-03-19 Thread Job Hunter
In most cases, you are better off going to the hardware mfg site and
downloading the latest drivers. The approach I take is that if it's not
broke, don't fix it. Of course, that philosophy does not apply to critical
Windows updates.

[JAWS-Users] changing from address in ms outlook?

2009-03-19 Thread Maria Chapman

hi list.

I have a friend who has 2 email accounts. does anyone know how she can change the account that's being sent from whilst composing a mesage? in thunderbird I can just shift tab a few times and it will say from and give me a combo box to choose my email account. this doesn't seem to work in ms outlook. The only work around i can think of is to reply to a message that's from that acount, that's all well and good, but if you want to send a new mesage and there are no messages in you r in box it can be a problem.
can anyone help? she is using office 2003 and jaws 8

thanks

kind regards
Maria and Karly
