[JAWS-Users] Outlook 2003--How does archiving work and .pst file
Hi, In Outlook 2003, there is this archiving feature. How does it work? I know the archive will go into a file called Outlook.pst. Is there a way I can open this file so JAWS can read the things that were archived? Thank you. [JAWS-Users] Proper way to navigate in a .ppt file
Hi, When I open a .ppt file on my Netbook, JAWS will read a whole list of Slides when I arrow down like Slide 1 blah blah, Slide 2 blah blah... To be able to read the contents in the file, I need to press Function key 5 to launch the file as a Slide show. Question: To move from 1 slide to another, one presses the Spacebar or the Control pagedown right? When I press control pagedown, JAWS will always say the following, The entry effect is none, the slide advance is on a mouse click. After that, I can read the next slide. I can move back the slide by pressing Control Pageup. Moving the Spacebar also brings me to the next part of the slide or a new slide. How do I go to previous slides then? However, I realised that both keystrokes will advance to the next slide quite differently. If both keystrokes are supposedly the same, why do I get different chunks of information, one reading more than the other, when I pressed the different keystrokes? I hope I have not confused anyone. Oh, I am using JAWS 9 on my XP Home Netbook if that's important. Thank you for any help. Re: [JAWS-Users] Outlook 2003--How does archiving work and .pst file
Hi, Actually it goes into archive.pst and you can read it using Jaws in Outlook. Just look in the folder list or tree view for the archive folder. Hi Lenny, I've seen this with all Jaws versions since the feature was added. Often times unloading and reloading JFW is the only way to clear the clipboard as the last data copied seems to be stuck and cannot be copied over. Re: [JAWS-Users] 2 sound card observations.
Yes you can. Which sound card is your computer sounds coming out of now? If it's the external, then do the following to set jaws to the internal. Press insert j to open the jaws menu. U for utilities. O for sound cards. Pick the eternal sound card from the menu and hit enter. You should now have your computer sounds on your external, assuming they were there to start with, and jaws on your internal. If your external isn't your computer sounds by default, then you need to go into control panel and set it as the default synth. Hi Dale, Can you close it with control plus F4 or control tab to the main Winamp window? Also if it is the update prompt I'm thinking of you can go to General under Preferences (control plus p followed by g until you hear General Preferences and tab through and look for Check for new versions of Winamp at startup and uncheck this box. I have Winamp to play MP3 files and such. When I click on a file Winamp plays the file alright but I cannot get to the application to start and stop or pause or any of that because of this darn New Version message which will not be dismissed. ALT-F4 doesn't kill it, there isn't a close option on the Applications menu, there isn't a File menu or any other with a Close option, there doesn't seem to be any way to get rid of it but to reboot. Second time in a given day it doesn't appear and I can go to the application and use the functions. This really is Malware, an application which takes charge and will not be terminated. So far as I can tell, the only advantage to having the new update might be to get rid of this notice and of course to fill up my computer with album art I suppose. Any help with this would be appreciated. Dale Leavens. For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/ For
Re: [JAWS-Users] Sapi Voices
Have you Sapi 4 voices? If so you may need to run the Sapi 4 detect utility in Jaws. Remember if they are Sapi 5 voices they will not be listed by synthesiser but in a single list. you will need to select the Sapi 5 synthesiser before the voices will show up in a list under the voice options. I don't have any Sapi voices to choose from in JAWS 9, but I do in JAWS 7. Is there a way that I can get the voices from JAWS 7 and put them into JAWS 9? [JAWS-Users] Making Window follow PC Cursor
Hi On a website in my college class they have updated the message forums. In order to open a message I must click it with the JAWS cursor. However, the JAWS cursor very often is in a window that doesn't move with the PC cursor. Routing the JAWS cursor to the PC cursor doesn't work. Is there a way to force the window the JAWS cursor is in to follow the PC cursor? God bless, Mark For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/
