Hi Kimsan,

Below are the keystrokes for dragging & dropping.

Use the key strokes, (CTRL+INSERT+NUM PAD SLASH) for Drag and Drop .
This is used to drag items from one location and drop them in another.
Position the JAWS Cursor on the item you wish to move and press
CTRL+INSERT+NUM
PAD SLASH. You can leave the JAWS Cursor active, or you can switch to the PC
Cursor. JAWS will keep speaking as you navigate. Once you have positioned
the JAWS or PC Cursor in the location to which you would like to move the
item, press CTRL+INSERT+NUM PAD SLASH again, and the item will be moved to
the position of the active cursor.
I have never tried these keystrokes before so, it beats the hell out of me
if they work or not! LOL Hope they help. Take care.

Hi Michelle,

Below are the explanations of all 4 cursors. Please don't feel ignorant or

Invisible Cursor
The JAWS cursor is basically the mouse cursor that is visible on screen.
The invisible cursor can be moved around just like the JAWS cursor to view
information. It works like the mouse cursor but can not be seen on screen
or effect objects. Therefore you can not use the NumPad / (left mouse
click) or NumPad * (right mouse click) on an object. It is useful to read
information without disturbing the mouse cursor. It is also useful to
determine colors or whatever might change when the mouse is over an object.
It will not cause ToolTips to pop up.

Hope this has helped. Take care.
Mike

Re: [JAWS-Users] Question About Jaws Curser and PC Curser

2010-01-13 Thread Chris Hallsworth
The PC cursor is the equivalent of the insertion point, or the carat.
Whenever the focus changes, for example when you enter a menu bar with
the alt key, the PC cursor moves to that location. The JAWS cursor, on
the other hand, imitates and actually causes, the mouse pointer to move
everytime you arrow with the JAWS cursor. It also offers commands to
simulate a left and right click, which can also be used for double
clicking. You can also use commands to drag and drop by locking a mouse
button down, moving to another part of the window, then unllocking it.
Hope this helps.

I think it has something to do with locking the jaws cursor on the exact
spot and then moving it to where you want it and then unlocking the cursor.
The lock and unlock command, I discovered quite by accident, is the Jaws or

2010-01-13 Thread Erin B. Edgar

Hi,
Facebook Lite is a good site to use if you are on your computer. However,
if you are on a mobile phone, try typing m.facebook.com in the address bar
of your web browser instead of going to the regular Facebook site and
clicking on the link for the mobile version.
Another thing to keep in mind is that the mobile site seems to be down much
more frequently than the regular FB site or the FB Lite site.

He means the slash on the numpdad , that is the number pad on the right
side of the keyboard.
You may not have this if you are using a laptop without a full sized
keyboard. It is generally good to get a full-sized USB Keyboard to use
with Jaws on a laptop if you want easy access to all Jaws commands.

Take care.

I am afraid that even when the drag and drop command is deployed in Jaws the
results are hit and miss. Generally if the program has poor accessibility
anyway the Jaws virtual drag and drop does not seem to work. Worth a try but
do not get your hopes up.

Try www.audiogames.net and www.pcsgames.net. They both have
comprehensive lists of accessible games you can play. For more
specifics, write me off list as I'm not sure this is on the list
guidelines since it's not really a JAWS question.

Hi Mike,
If you are indeed looking for Windows Mail, the successor to Outlook
Express,
it was only available in Windows Vista, and not as a stand-alone
application.
I have checked several sites where the files for it were reported to be
available,
only to find that the files can't be distributed due to copyright
infringements.

Howdy Doctor Richard,

I do believe that Patti is running Windows Live Mail now and having problems
withit. this is the reason she is looking for and trying to get Windows
Mail. Which of the Email clients for Windows7 is supposed to be like
Outlook Express? The one that is supposed to be an equivalent or close to
Outlook Express is the one she is looking for. Thanks much for all who are
trying to help Patti. Take care.

Re: [JAWS-Users] windows Mail for Windows7

2010-01-13 Thread Mike & Barbara
Howdy Doctor Richard,

Please forgive my last post. I was interrupted and didn't read it all the
way through before I replied. Patti is trying to learn Windows7 and Windows
Live Mail, but somewhere in the steps of setting up Windows Live Mail she is
not able to get things right because of the differences of terminology and
where to put the settings for sending Emails. I am probably not explaining
things worth a crap as far as what is going on, but just trying to get her
as much information as possible to help her since she is able to receive
Emails and unable to send them out. Again, a great big thank you for
everyone trying to get Patti squared away through me trying to ask questions
on her behalf and not being in constant contact with her. Take care.
