[JAWS-Users] JAWS reads pop up dialog twice
This is a very technical question that I will try to ask simply. I am a developer who must make our website user-friendly for an accessible user. There are important pop up alerts on our website, and JAWS reads them when they pop up. But when the user clicks the okay button, JAWS reads them a second time, even though the pop up is closed. This is very disorienting to our user. Has anyone ever had a similar issue? I am developing with Google Web Toolkit (GWT) and testing with JAWS 11 and Internet Explorer 8. Thanks! Hi! You can easily do that in Vista and Win 7 but I'm not sure if one can do the same in Xp. In Vista or Win 7, just left click on the Volume icon present in your system tray (use Insert + F11 to open up system tray dialog box) and tab to "mixer button. Press spacebar and then tab your way to the volume leveler of "Application file for Jaws" and then adjust the volume as you like. Re: [JAWS-Users] copying a file
Phil, Can you read the path name and then manually go to that location and then use the cut & paste option? There is a neat program on the JAWS users home page called copy path. Works well with XP, not sure about Window's 7. Anyway this will allow you to copy and paste the path of the file so you can easily find it Al -Original Message- From: jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com]on Behalf Of Phil Templet Sent: Wednesday, March 03, 2010 2:54 PM To: 'jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com' Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] copying a file Yes and you can't copy from the llist of results from the search edit field. -Original Message- From: jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Gerald Levy Sent: Wednesday, March 03, 2010 1:51 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] copying a file Have you tried Copy and Paste? Follow World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) - Original Message - From: "kaye tenn" To: Sent: Wednesday, March 03, 2010 6:52 AM Subject: [JAWS-Users] JAWS reads pop up dialog twice This is a very technical question that I will try to ask simply. Thanks! Hello Marilyn; Here are my 3 messages that I did not receive any replies. --- 2/28 Hi all; I have XP and 10.0 When I copy an e mail message from O E then paste it in to HJ pad or Word, When JAWS reads it to me, there are added symbols in the message body. These symbols are not read while in O E but only after I put it somewhere else. 2/28 Hi all; I have XP and 10.0. I have a cordless keyboard and mouse. My sighted wife noticed that while using the mouse, the curser on the screen was scrolling automatically and she could not control it with the mouse. I noticed, while using the keyboard, when trying to "click" on links with the "enter" button, nothing would happen. I also tried using the "JAWS" curser which did not work either. While having this trouble, when I hit the tab key, JAWS would announce virtual curser. The batteries are fairly new in the keyboard. Any thoughts? --- 1/31 Hi all; I have XP and 10.00. I think I have the most recent IE. I've been trying to put "Free weather" as my home page. In the past, when IE loaded, "Free Weather" would come up ready to read. Lately, the title will be "Free Weather", but it does not read until I tab a few times. One of the tabs is ,"compatibility view is checked. I can either keep tabbing or, hit the space bar and the "Free Weather" will be able to read. So, what is the compatibility view? and, what should it be set on? Also, does this setting have anything to do with the home page loading? Oh, I noticed there are a few web sites listed in the "Compatibility view" and "Free Weather" is one of them.
