[JAWS-Users] Follow up to the list on my outlook express 6 problem.
Good evening everyone: As some of you may remember, Earlier in the week I posted a problem to the list about how my outlook express 6 was reading the prior subject line of the message that I had deleted when I wenttoo read the next message that's inmy in box. I called Freedomscientific this morning and talked with a tek too ask him if there was a fix that might help too correctthis ongoing problem. He told me too update my jaws 11, which is the current version that I'm using from Jaws 7 point 54 too 7 point 56 I think. After the update was successfuly downloaded, I restarted the computer, then went back into my outlook express 6, too see if the update that he told me too install had fixed the problem. Unfortunately, it didn't work as I had hoped that it would. So, if there are any assistive technology trainers out there who either might have heard, or know of a fix for this problem, I would sure appreciate any help, suggestion, or advice on this problem. If not, then I'll probably have to install windows live mail, and no longer use outlook express 6 as my email program for reading and sending email. This problem, is causing me too accidently delete important messages, because I see the subject line of the previous message. This is a very anoying problem that I'd like too fix if possible. Also because I'm comfortable using the format that this program has, I'd rather not have too swich too another program unless I really am forced too. Re: [JAWS-Users] Setting Up XP Desktop to Classic for JAWS
Cher, Give this a try. This is part of the optimizing Jaws for Windows XP Home and Pro documentation. I think this may have come off of the ATI web site. HTH Larry 1. From the Control Panel, move to "Display" and press Enter. 2. From the themes combo box, select Windows XP. 3. In the List of backgrounds on the Desktop page, choose Bliss. 4. Set Position to "Stretch." 5. In the Screen Saver combo box on the Screen Saver page, press HOME to select none. 6. On the Appearance page, set Windows and Buttons to Windows classic style. 7. Set Color Scheme to Windows Standard. 8. Set Font to normal. 9. Close the dialog. -Original Message- From: jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Don and Cher Bosch Sent: Friday, April 09, 2010 7:07 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Setting Up XP Desktop to Classic for JAWS Chris- Tried that tonight... and, even though I had him reboot, nothing changed on the desktop. Re: [JAWS-Users] A Google Mail question about Deleting all emails from my inbox in one go?
You can, but not in the basic view. In the other view there is a select all button. You have to rout jaws to pc to left click on it. Then you can delete them all at one time. In the basic view you have to check the box and only do 100 at a time. The one good thing about mac's is it don't matter what view you use both are accessible. At 03:52 PM 4/9/2010, you wrote: Hi everyone, subject line says it all. I was wondering on the google mail website is it possable to delete all your emails in one go? Can someone please explain this to me? I have a window that has been popping up lately saying Hidden JAWS. Within this window are two options: close tracking engine or about tracking engine. When the engine is open, I can't download anything from the internet. As soon as I close it, I can. What is this engine and why am I getting this window? It seems to happen mostly with JAWS 9. It allows us to use Skype and the program will speak Skype related events, such as incoming or outgoing calls and chats, contact status changes, and so on. The scripts are still nice but Skype Talking replaces, in most cases, the functionality of Skype Watch, which is now broken as of Skype 4.2. SkypeTalking uses the Skype API along with the JAWS API to speak the events. But SkypeTalking doesn't just work with JAWS; other screen readers are also supported. If no screen reader is running or you're using a screen reader that SkypeTalking doesn't support, it will work with your default SAPI5 voice. Hope this helps. Thanks in advance for the upload. Re: [JAWS-Users] avira question
Today I installed the free version on a few computers and didn't face any problems. Of course sometimes it's necessary to use the jaws cursor, but it's not so often. I installed versions 9 and 10 with the help of the free screanreader NVDA, because of crashings with jaws at the time of avira installation. But this might happened only with me, so not sure what will happen while installing the new avira with jaws.
