Re: [JAWS-Users] Problem With Activating a button on a website

2010-04-12 Thread Mark

Hi
Someone may have already mentioned this. However, when I run in to this
situation with the buttons on web pages, I have to rout JAWS to PC and use
the JAWS left mouse click.

I hope this helps.

No. You can run Winamp but the scripts do not work properly at this time.
For example JAWS won't announce the next or previous track if you press b or
z, for example. Just one of the reasons why I got fed up of 64 bit operating
systems. I want my old functionality back, and now I have it.

I wasn't able to run 32 bit Jaws on a 64 bit system.

On another note, since I have a 64 bit machine, does this mean I can't use
Winamp?

64 bit is great but it's not for me at this time. I've decided to go back
to 32 bit as JAWS reads things a lot better on that platform, plus I can
use some programs that work better with JAWS on a 32 bit operating

work on a 64 bit operating system, but for now I'm happy with good old 32

Hello:
I have a new 64 bit Windows 7 system running the latest version of JFW.
I
keep encountering several places where I am unable to read what I type

even read d what is already in a field. Usually, when I check theses
occurrences, it says that there is no font. I have not encountered
this
with my Windows XP or Vista systems with JWS.

By changing themes yesterday, I was able to move between virtually no
screen
reading output, all the way to being able to read virtually everything.
Occasionally, some dialogue boxes and message boxes will not echo
anything
and in some instances they speak correctly. I have been unable to
discern a
definite pattern as to what the problem might actually be. I have been
searching Freedom Scientifics' knowledge base, but have not been able to

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what other settings I might

No. you must run JAWS 64 bit on a 64 bit operating systems. This is because
it installs drivers that are inserted into the driver chain or whatever
Windows does at inserting drivers smiles.

2010-04-12 Thread Annette Carr
I do not have Office 2007 here at home, so I'm just suggesting things that I
think I've used at work.

Position your cursor in the first cell of the table. Press the Applications
Key and see what the delete feature does.

If that does not work, again position your cursor in the first cell of the
table.
Navigate to the table design tab on the ribbon. Sorry I do not remember the
exact name of this tab or button.
There might be a delete table command here, or maybe some place else on the
ribbon.

In Office 2007, there is a select entire table command. In order to use it
when using JAWS, you have to use the Pass Through command first. I've used
this sequence when converting a table to text, so I do not know if it will
work.

I hope some of this info gets you pointed in the right direction.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Windows 7 64 bit problem

2010-04-12 Thread Rhonda Scott
Well you know? That sucks. Someone helped me get this laptop and I didn't
think of Winamp not working for me and asking about 32 or 64 bit before
buying it.

I've decided to go back
to 32 bit as JAWS reads things a lot better on that platform, plus I can
use some programs that work better with JAWS on a 32 bit operating
 system,
like Winamp. I will definitely monitor the progress on how screen readers
work on a 64 bit operating system, but for now I'm happy with good old 32
bit. So I think this is the reason why things aren't reading for you.
Sorry I can't offer any more help on this.

 Subject: [JAWS-Users] Windows 7 64 bit problem

 Hello:
I have a new 64 bit Windows 7 system running the latest version of JFW.
 I
keep encountering several places where I am unable to read what I type
 or
even read d what is already in a field.

I have been
searching Freedom Scientifics' knowledge base, but have not been able to
 find my exact problem described.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what other settings I might
manipulate that might help in alleviating this problem?
 Thanks...

But I have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep, and miles
 to
 go before I sleep
