If you want to disable PacMan, turn off "Load Images Automatically." In Firefox: Go to Tools / Options / Content / uncheck "Load Images Automatically." Then restart FireFox. IE has a similar option. Okay, I just switched to IGoogle, and the sound effects stopped, so apparently, there has been some kind of change to the classic Google home page that automatically invokes these sound effects with no way to turn them off. For now, switch to IGoogle for your home page to suppress these annoying sounds. Yeah, it is PacMan's 30th anniversary, don't worrie about it. it should be gone by tomorrow, the game was played in quite a lot of countries such as THE US and Canada. I'm unable to play it either, if you want to play an accessible version of the game, go to PCS Games's web site at http://www.pcsgames.net, hope this helps. tim - Original Message - From: "Betsy Whitney, Dolphin Press" To: Sent: Friday, May 21, 2010 12:01 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] PAC MAN NOISE SOUND HEARD WHEN STARTING GOOGLE Josh, Oi... Re: [JAWS-Users] help with Eudora
After Eudora 7.1 was released, Qualcomm turned the project over to Mozilla Foundation. It was then updated to version 8, which was more of a formality than new features. Perhaps very minor bug fixes, but all invisible to the end user. After that, like I said, Eudora was absorbed into Thunderbird. The name Eudora no longer `exists, if you want something up-to-date, Thunderbird is the new client. Otherwise, you will be using an old software no longer maintained. My biggest issue with Eudora is that it doesn't have Exchange support. I cannot use Eudora at work even if I want to. It's just like using a browser. Those of you die-hard IE6 fans, you will eventually have to upgrade no matter what. Especially when CSS2.1 and HTML5.0 are the new standards. And IE6 is not going to be updated or supported anymore. Try using YouTube with IE6. And if you like Eudora so much, why upgrade to Windows 7? Why not just stay with Windows XP? I'm not saying Eudora is bad or anything. I'm just saying that sooner or later, changes have to be made. Old and retired software must be put to rest. We are being dragged kicking and screaming. The problem with USB is that the drive powers down too fast, it's in WD's firmware because I have all power management turned off here, and it shuts down short enough that if you're doing a show online you get the second of dead air at the crossfade point between two songs while the drive powers up. I've gotten it sometimes, and sometimes things just lock up if the file's not accessed in time.
