Last I tried, it didn't work worth anything. It kind a almost worked with
window-eyes, but the problem was I couldn't fill out any forms on web pages
accessibly. As for jfw though, I'd say it's at this time, last I checked
anyway, a complete no go, no show.

This isn't totally true. They do actually have a windows version of it as
well.

If you don't believe me, go to:

http://www.apple.com/safari

from a windows based computer.

It's not yet accessible though on the windows side of things. Trust me, I
tried.

Safari is a native Mac browser, and unless you are running it in virtual

If you mean the one that is on the
 Apex, then yes, it can..

The Apex has the Safari browser with Jaws from
Humanware
 and also uses
Braille, a Braille display with speech.
My son had one recently from his job and I was
able to hear
 Jaws as well as
read the display in Braille, very nice piece of
equipment,
 but far out of my
 price range...

[JAWS-Users] Cannot currently connect to facebook chat in aim

2010-07-20 Thread Ijemmer Ramos
Is anyone else having this problem? I cannot connect fo facebook with aim 7.2.
I tried to upgrade to aim 7.3 hoping to solve the problem but it did not. I
pressed the alt key and found one that says Reconnect to facebook chat, typed
my facebook user name and password. Sometimes, it says that it cannot connect
to facebook due to some problems. At other times, I get the 502 error code.
What should I do? Is there another way to use facebook chat with JAWS or NVDA
without going to their website if ever this problem would not be solved? I
really need to use facebook chat frequently as my friends and teachers prefer
this way of communicating with me.

Hi Chris.

If you're running on a Windows 7, 64 bit edition, you can't install the sapi
4 engine, that should make it possible
to use the sapi 4 speech synthizis.

I don't know, whether Microsoft will release a new version of the sapi 4
engine for use on Win 7 64 bit systems.

Temporary you must take advantage of the sapi 5 synthizis that is available.

Hi Chris.

If you're running on a Windows 7, 64 bit edition, you can't install the
sapi

4 engine, that should make it possible
to use the sapi 4 speech synthizis.

I don't know, whether Microsoft will release a new version of the sapi 4
engine for use on Win 7 64 bit systems.

Temporary you must take advantage of the sapi 5 synthizis that is
available.

I don't know anything about Window Eyes, but probably they have included
their own sapi 4 engine in their program, to support speech output with sapi
