Re: [JAWS-Users] ascending descending order in outlook 2007
Great answer. That worked perfectly. Thanks. Now to a new issue. My Bank Of America alert received message won't open correctly in MS outlook 2007. I get an error message something like outlook can not open this message and needs to close. Windows will go online and let you know if there is a solution. Never had this problem with outlook express or even windows live mail. Solve one issue and another popps up. Welcome to the world of technology I guess. Re: [JAWS-Users] windows live mail contact groups
David, the mess goes on, even worse. I just posted the problem to the list. Look at it and see if you have any ideas. I'm angry at myself and frustrated, because nothing seems to work. I want to rebuild my contacts, because I lost them all. don't ask. frown. So, I have a copy of my contacts in a folder, and I am trying to bring them over, one at a time, and add them to my WLM contact list. Every time I put a name in, and put the email address in, and tab to add, jaws says, proffered email address again, and I tab to add, and could keep doing that forever. [JAWS-Users] netbook with openbook 9
Hi everyone, David sent us some great ideas when considering a netbook. I am very happy with the way Jaws works with mine but wanted to share some ideas in regards to Openbook 9 with the new pearl camera. I have installed Openbook 9 on two laptops. One is a duel core larger laptop and the other is a netbook. With my larger laptop, Openbook 9 is very fast during the scanning process with the Pearl. However, on my netbookk, this process is slower. When working in the acquire and read mode, my netbook is slower and a little sluggish at the point when the Pearl is performing another scan. Here, speech somewhat hesitates for a few seconds. With the overall speed with Openbook 9, I do not find this that disappointing. Re: [JAWS-Users] ascending descending order in outlook 2007
Hi Leonard, Unfortunately, there are a myriad of reasons why you might get an Outlook error message that includes the requirement for Outlook to close. Quite often, similar error messages are caused by an add-in. You might want to check your add-ins to try to find the one causing the problem (if indeed it is a problem caused by an add-in). When focus is in the inbox use Alt+T and then use up arrow key to the choice for the trust center and press enter key. In the resulting dialog box use up arrow key to the add-ins choice. Use tab key to the manage combo box and make sure that COM add-ins is the selected choice. If not, use up or down arrow key to find that choice. In the tab order of the dialog box, a list of add-ins is shown before the manage add-ins combo box. Use shift+tab key to move back to the list after making sure the manage add-ins choice is selected. Use up or down arrow keys in the list. You might start by trying to disable antivirus add-ins. McAfee has used an add-in that causes this type of error to occur. Sometimes disabling an add-in and installing it again or installing a newer version of the add-in will take care of the problem. You might have to first tab to the go button and press spacebar on it. In the resulting child window you can tab to the list of add-ins, move to one using up or down arrow key, and then tab to a button for disabling it. Press spacebar on the disable button. Tab to the OK button and press spacebar. Tab to the OK button in the parent dialog and press spacebar to dismiss it. Microsoft, ITunes, Outlook Connector, Windows Live add-ins, Adobe and other commonly used add-ins are usually trouble-free, but you certainly might try disabling any add-ins related to the antivirus or anti-spyware programs on your system. If Bank of America uses one then you might check for an updated version of it, one that can be used in Outlook 2007 and with your operating system and is for 32-bit or 64-bit Windows, whichever one you use. There are other possible solutions, but I think you should check the add-ins situation first. Take care. Re: [JAWS-Users] Fscast Episode 45
Hmm, and for a full upgrade, it seems to be offering better US sports results on ResearchIt, a Windows 7-like interface for changing JFW settings, automatic updates for JFW if you want, the ability to set a temporary placemarker in Word, some improvements to Braille support and an alternative means of accessing ribbons; although it sounds like you lose the ability to use the established MS hotkeys when this latter option is activated. There was no mention of actually making basic functionality in Windows 7 such as email work or dealing with the problem of losing focus all the time... Still, that's on just one listen through of the FS Podcast so I'll listen again. Being a UK-based non-Brailler, the changes outlined in the podcasts don't warrant the cost of a full upgrade and I wonder whether I'll have to wait for another 12-month development cycle to be able to access email as simply as I did with OE and XP. Time to cut my losses and look at what the competition has to offer after 15 years? P.S. On reading this through before sending it, I see that I was expecting a fix for email access and loss of focus to be included because it's a full upgrade, but surely these should have been fixes rather than upgrades; just shows how my expectations have become lowered...
