[JAWS-Users] Message Rules Using Windows Live Mail.

2010-10-29 Thread Mandy
Hi.

I’ve just installed all of my Windows essential and probably non-essential
updates and I don’t quite understand what they have done to the spell-check but
more importantly: I have unsubbed from some groups and want to remove them
from my message rules but can no longer work out how to get to them.
I looked on the web and can’t really understand the instruction: it seems you
can do something to put it back as it was when you could go to tools and arrow
up to message rules.
I do hope someone clever out there has figured it out

Mandy.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Sudden Loss of authorizations

2010-10-29 Thread Dale Leavens
Have you done something to your computer? Some changes of hardware or some
of their settings?

I was furious the other day, our power went off for several hours so I
switched my notebook to power saving mode. this makes several changes
including altered processor speed, monitor changes, several other time-out
functions. Jaws decided it should have a holiday too disclaiming
authorization and going into 40 minute demo mode.

Since 1998 I have purchased four, maybe five complete Jaws versions between
me, my wife and my job and several SMAs from version 2.02 through 9. I
haven't bothered using the two allowed upgrades from Jaws 9 since I know how
to use google and don't need research it. Between that and jaws locking up
on many Web pages and other frustrations I am losing patience with this
product. I understand that there are thieves out there but there are limits
to how much one can be inconvenienced.

Anyway, major changes to your equipment can make jaws think it isn't in the
original computer and it seems to get homesick.

Cheers

Dale leavens.

Well, I have suddenly lost authorization for 3 jaws
versions... 7, 8 , and 11. It was simultaneous and I wish I could get info
on why and on how to fix it so it doesn't happen again.

I really feel I should know this and I even looked in Jaws help, but can't
find out how to accomplish this. I am running JFW10 with Windows XP and
Eloquence. Is it possible for me to change the volume of Jaws and leave the
other items I am running, say Winamp, the same volume. If I have Winamp set
to 100%, Jaws is very loud. Is there a way to lower the volume of Jaws
without affecting the Winamp volume? Thanks.

Sorry, no there isn't, XP is one of those opperating systems that don't
allow indevidual volume changes such as what your talking about, although
Vista and 7 has that ability via the system tray.

Re: [JAWS-Users] changing the volume of Jaws independently

2010-10-29 Thread Richard Fiel
Enter the systems tray by incert F 11.
Yes: just goe to the systems tray hit V for volume, then tap enter tab once
it will say volume up down slider. Now hit home to turn it up or end key.
That will lower the volume. If you want rase or lower by smaller inkerments
use your arrow keys. Hope this helps.

[JAWS-Users] visual studio

2010-10-29 Thread John W. Carty
I've been a long time 3270 programmer mostly cobol/cics. Now my employer is
moving me to microsoft visual studio where I'm suppose to learn visual basic
and sequel server.

I'm using jaws 12.

My shop is currently using visual studio 2008 but we'll be moving to 2010 at
some point in the future.

What version of visual studio works best with jaws?

Are there specific scripts I need to load?

If so, where can I get these scripts?

Are there any specific setup I need for visual studio?

This is pretty urgent since I'm suppose to be assigned a new project in a
couple of weeks.

Thanx,

John Carty
