[JAWS-Users] What has Google done?

2010-11-11 Thread Francis E. Khan
Hello everybody:

My computer crashed on October 27 and I have now rec4eived it from the shop.
It has been a long day for me to install all my software and I need to look at
about 1500 messages.

Before I do this, I saw a message today about what Google has done and I need
to know what that is. I will attend to my e-mails tomorrow.

Is there a way that I can secure my programs, etc. so that if something happens
to my computer I can restore everything? The crash occurred as a result of a
lightning bolt so I have to buy a piece of equipment that will keep my machine
intact.

David,

I have been using Quicken for 7 years too. I started with windows98
the first year and I don't remember the version of Jaws I was using then.

When I got my XP computer in 2004, I installed Quicken 2003 and
imported my files from the old computer. I have been doing great with
each version of Jaws until the latest version.

With each version of Jaws, I never brought the original scripts
forward to the next version of Jaws. So, my question to you is this.

Did you bring all the Quicken files from the script manager or just
the JSS file and recompile? Since I did not copy the previous Quicken
scripts, should I just bring the scripts from Jaws 11 only or should
I go back to the oldest version that I have which is Jaws 9?

I appreciate any help that you can provide me and I thank you in advance.

Take care,

Lennie

Hi,

I just installed Jaws 12 the other day and today I used my Quicken
2003 for the first time with the new version of Jaws.

I cane across a problem and I am wondering if anyone on the list
experience the same problem.

Jaws is reading the register okay and seems to report the heading
such as date, num, payee etc. okay.

However, when I did CTRL+S to record split transactions, Jaws 12
could not read category, memo and amount. All that I heard was
account setting and blanks as I tabbed through each field.

I had to exit Jaws 12 and restart Jaws 11 to correctly read the split
screen. Has anyone else noticed this? And if you are not having any
problems with the split screen and Jaws 12, I sure would like to know
how you got it to work?

I am thinking that the problem lies with the scripts and I did do the
the utility merge from Jaws 11 to Jaws12. Would it be wise to take
the scripts from Jaws11 and insert it into Jaws12?

Any suggestions and help would be greatly be appreciated since I use
Quicken 2003 heavily.

Thanks and take care,

Lennie

Hello Dave,

If your client is using Windows 7 and Jaws, she will not need a cd-rom
burning program unless that is what she wants.

Windows 7 has a very good and highly accessible burning program built in.

To access the burner in Windows 7, high light a file to be burned to a cd.

Press shift-f10 and cursor down the options. One will be send to.
Open the send to menu and choose the cd - dvd writer that is listed.

An example might be: DVD Rw (d:)

A wizard will appear and guide you thru the burn / write process
