Re: [JAWS-Users] re-link for Office 2007

2010-12-27 Thread Brian Lee
Hello Janie,

Here is a link for some Office 2010 keystroke lists:

http://www.microsoft.com/enable/products/office2010/default.aspx

Press H until you get to the heading "Keyboard shortcuts for Office 2010
products." Use down arrow key and you will find a list of links for Access
2010,

Excel 2010, Outlook 2010, PowerPoint 2010, Project 2010 and Word 2010. You
can get to the tables of keystrokes for the program you want by following
the appropriate link.

After pressing enter on one of the links and when the resulting page loads,
press the number 1 and arrow down a few lines to the "show all" link and
press enter key. You can then use T for moving table to table. Use up
arrow two or three times from the top of each table to find out what the
table contains.

Take care.

Yes, I found this to be true also. To place the icon back onto the desktop,
I did the following.
1. Open start menu and go to programs.
2. arrow down to MSE.
3. Press the applications key and arrow down to the send to sub menu
4. Arrow down and you will find a shortcut to the desktop. Enter here and
you are all set.

Hope this helps,

Best way to use it with jaws is tab key, don't even bother with cursors.
As far as using it for playing and moving content around it handles
that just fine.
Its one of those apps you have to study a bit, because it won't spoon
feed you like most apps.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] iPod Touch; Can I enable voiceover from iTunes?

I was given an iPod Touch to learn the interface and such, not a brand new
one.

So far I have managed to install iTunes, got the QuickTime installed and
apparently running then figured out how to disable it from grabbing all
media on the Web. Then for some reason the Apple Mobile Service wouldn't
start but I now have that resolved. I haven't discovered how to enable
the Voiceover.

Can anyone help?

Thanks.

Dale Leavens.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Vista nd Win7 Windows warning when installation

2010-12-27 Thread Steve

No advice needed, Russ.

Any program that isn't published and/or validated through Microsoft will
generate the same warning when you try to install drivers.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Vista nd Win7 Windows warning when installation

Hi everyone,

I have seen the below with the last several Jaws 10-12 with my Vista and
Win7 laptops. A tech talked me through this, but I am wondering if any of
you have seen this. I am using Microsoft security essentials. I also saw
the

same thing when I had AVG installed.

In the Jaws set up procedures, after the computer has restarted, the
installation literally stops. I had sighted assistance and found that
Windows was saying that some of the files I was trying to install were not
compatible with Windows.

I entered on the option to install anyway.

As I said, a tech from Freedom Scientific walked me through with this,
however, since I was trying to move along as quickly as possible, I didn't
take note about how to do this. The tech acted as if this was rather
normal

and knew right away what to do.

Any advice would be appreciated,

Thank you, Russ

[JAWS-Users] Jaws accessibility of latest ad-aware pro?

2010-12-27 Thread CrisMunoz54
Hello list,

I haven’t used it in forever so I would like to ask if anyone’s in fact put
the latest Ad-Aware through its paces with Jaws and if it’s at all
manageable with JFW? There’s an offer going around for one free license and
I was interested in getting it, but from what I recall, the newer versions
of Ad-Aware weren’t as accessible with Jaws as some of the older releases.

Thanks,

Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws & iTunes

2010-12-27 Thread Kliph
Itunes has been very jaws friendly since version 10 and up. You can use the
tab key to get around, and even put your searches in a list view by using
F6. Jonathan Mosen does a great pod cast on Itunes with jaws. You can find
the direct link for this podcast here
http://www.freedomscientific.com/FSCast/default.asp

This should tell you all you want to know. It's 2 parts, and part 2 will be
released this month.

Although I can't find my Jaws 10 and 11 CDs so am using 9 which also does
not play well with iTunes, and so can't help you, I can share your
frustration!
Wouldn't you think sometime between about Jaws 7 and now someone would have
made iTunes accessible and easy to use? Either Apple maybe with an alternate
logically organized and simplified site or maybe Freedom Scientific working
with the current site?

We have a simplified already accessible search engine like google by means
of the Research feature which is already about as accessible as a Web site
can be but are left unable to use something like iTunes, something one might
expect a lot of blind people with a full spectrum of computer skills to want
to access.

Can they be collaborating with Apple to drive us from Microsoft and Windows
or maybe to change over to another screen reader? Surely not!

What ever the business strategy might be isn't obvious to me at least but I
think I am beginning to get some sense of it.

If you do find an answer please share it with the rest of us.

Dale Leavens.
