[JAWS-Users] Winamp is giving me the silent treatment...
Hi listers, I'm having a problem with Winamp, I can't find the version, as usual menus have been removed, or hidden. It seems like it's been updated without my agreement. The main problem is out of the blue, it stopped outputting audio, as if it is in mute mode, or something similar. I was just browsing through a folder listening to a few mp3's, and it just stopped playing the audio, though, it is playing the track, but no audio is produced. Jaws reads the track times, so I know it's playing, and I played the same tracks in Windows Media Player, with no problem. I wasn't even in winamp when this problem happened, I was in a folder, and winamp was minamized, so I don't know how I changed any settings. I'm running JFW 8, and Xp, and I generally avoid app updates, as my old version of Jaws makes more things less accessible. Please let me know how to 'unmute', or undo what I did, or what the PC did without my permition. TIA! Hi can some one please tell me how I can go back from out too look express? I want to go back, I would like to leave out look, it is giving me some issues and I would like to go back. I just opened out look express and used it as my default should that be all I have to do? Yesterday, I had some issues where I lost my address book, contacts and safe senders list, and I had to rebuild, as I was getting addressess from people in safe senders list from the stream list as I was using control R to reply, and it was adding people to the safe senders, I guess I was supposed to use control shift R, as I do with the JAWS list, and the two other lists I am On, I tried to deleat them from the safe senders list, but some one told me it was arcived some where, and I just don't want to bother doing that, so was going to start fresh with out look express thanks . Hey Susie, You need to go on the internet. 1, alt T to the tools 2 arrow up to internet options 3 enter 4 ctrl tab to program page 5 tab to the combo boxes 6 Arrow down and get outlook express selected 7 tab and make sure outlook express is selected in each box 8 tab and get address book selected 9 tab to apply 10 enter 11 shift tab to ok I hope that helps you Patti Hi can some one please tell me how I can go back from out too look express? Hello there; First, yes, you can go to Outlook express with no problems, just make it the default email client. You can also import any messages, contacts, and even account settings. So which 'red' are you using? When I chose dark red it turned out as red but when I chose one of the others it turned out brown. I am going off of what JAWS is reporting as I do not have a sighted person available to confirm the color. Does this help? You could uninstall Winamp via control panel. There are three things I look for when it does this kind of problem. 1. Restart winamp, or remove it from list of running apps and then restart. Do that in task manager. 2. Reboot the computer and try again. 3. Make sure all files are setup in control + p, files. [JAWS-Users] IE 6, driving me crazy...
Hi my IE 6 just stopped funtioning as a browser anymore, it won't load URL's, and just tells me to upgrade to IE 8. I'm running JFW 8, on an XP. I heard Jaws 8 doesnt work well with IE 8, but I may not have an option anymore. I'd like to avoid spending a grand to upgrade Jaws if I can get IE functional, as a browser, once again. Preferably not using a system roll back, if possible, as I just installed about 5 new apps, and wouldnt want to open that can of worms..suggestions are welcome. I'd upgrade to IE 8, if it's as functional as firefox, which is my only way I can brows right now, however, Firefox has its limitations, it doesnt play youtube for me, where IE 6 would, or at least the audio... Would i get much access at all using JFW 8, with IE 8? Open up the settings center, you want the defaults for jaws. Now in there go to the html options, ,Mrs. That is where you can turn that off. All the html settings are there and that is main control. It don't matter if jaws is in task bar or tray. Windows has focus on what is in front of you and so should jaws. However, not always does it respond to what is in front of you! is it possible you may have pressed alt+control+M? If you had done so with Winamp in focus this may have reduced your volume to 0. You may want to bring Winamp back in to focus and hit your up arrow keys and see if the volume doesn't start increasing. Just a thought. [JAWS-Users] Anytime Deluxe?
It appears that JFW support for Anytime Deluxe stopped somewhere between JAWS 9 and JAWS 11. with both programs on the computer, I pasted the anytime Deluxe scripts into the 'explore my settings' folder, per FS tech support. But JAWS 11 still loads the default scripts. Are you sure it isn't saying collapse instead of clap? For if this is the case and you don't want group by conversation, go to alt + v for view and enter on the first choice ( current view) and arrow down uncheck the group by conversations by entering on it. I sure hope so or somebody better tell me what I am doing is not possible. All kidding aside yes of course you can do that, no problem at all. I always have multiple sound cards for doing tandem sessions. This is so if I get somebody on the other end who keeps on chattering in my ear I can turn their volume down and still listen to jaws on the other card. In the jaws utility menu there is a place to choose your sound card to have jaws come out of, try and find it first. If you can't and I think you can just ask and I'll give further instructions. The version I have is several versions out of date, but it is the first and only version jaws offers formal support version 7.1 to be exact. Hi, do not press enter until you are done with your message. If you are done with a line press period and space twice, type your next line the line will automatically wrap around. Another thing you can do is use word or WordPad to type your whole message in, then copy, and paste it into the comment field on face book. remember you can only post up to 420 characters in one post.
