I can't locate any setting in Outlook 2007 that controls code for in-coming

I'm using outlook Express, but it'd be in a similar (view) menu or Ribbon.
Look in there. it has to do with Windows encoding. there may be an Encoding
submenu, which lists all the windows encoding types. the one I have checked
is Western European iso, and I never have the problem (although I've heard
of it in the past from people who had. that's the way towards the solution.
If not in the view menu, then look in others.

I can't locate any setting in Outlook 2007 that controls code for
in-coming
messages, only out-going. Also, I tried adding one of the weird codes to
the

I'm using outlook Express, but it'd be in a similar (view) menu or
Ribbon.
Look in there. it has to do with Windows encoding. there may be an
Encoding
submenu, which lists all the windows encoding types. the one I have
checked
is Western European iso, and I never have the problem (although I've
heard
of it in the past from people who had. that's the way towards the

If not in the view menu, then look in others.

Re: [JAWS-Users] How to decrease time for JAWS to respond

2011-07-09 Thread TJ McElroy gMail

Hi,

I have been listening to the advice given for this problem and would like
to throw in my 2 cents worth.

While check disk and adding more ram are certainly good for almost any
computer, because the problem is being experienced on both her laptop and
desktop computer, suggests that it is a program that she has running on both
computers or a configuration setting shared by each system that is causing
the problem.

The first place I would suggest to look at is the task bar. Look at the task
bar and see if:

a. How many programs are listed
b. Which programs ( if any ) are running on each system.

The next place to check is the startup folder startmenuprogramsstartup
and see what programs are starting for each computer.

Once you have narrowed the programs that are running on both systems, you
will be able to disable each program in turn to see if you get any relief
from the slowness of Jaws.

Another culprit might be your anti virus program or the windows indexing
program.

Again, adding ram and def ragging are valid steps, but because of the
problem being on two different systems, used by the same person, suggests a
program that is running on both systems or a configuration setting that has
been applied to each system.

HTH,

TJ

I find it even a bit frustrating to get all the messages about accessories

Time by time, where you have disabled or activated all this accessories to

Hi.

Does your computer's have a Celeron processor?
This kind of processor has a very small cache, which often is resulting by
very slow responding from the computer's keyboard.

It can help a bit, having enough ram, at least 1 mb for a XP system, but it
will never be good, before the processor/motherboard has been changed to
another type, probably an Intel I3 board.

I don't know if this really is your problem, but it seam's to me to be such
a kind.

Thank you for your instructions! They sound very useful for speeding up my
computer. However, what I am particularly referring to, is the time delay
between pressing a letter key and hearing JAWS echo it. Sometimes, JAWS
seems to not even know that I have pressed a key.

I've cleaned my keyboard, with the compressed air and got a lot of dog hair
out of it. May be it's just wearing out?

I had thought that this was just a Jaws problem, but now, I'm not so sure.

Many thanks for any thoughts on this matter! Vicky

Do a scanDisk on both.
Just go to desk top, myComputer, hit enter. Now on the local drive hit
application key and chose properties...
Then do a control + tab and hit enter. Tab to fix drive and check. Then ok
your way out.

When you reboot it will do that job.
after that is done. Run defrag on the system, and disk clean up. You can
find that in accessories, system tools, disk clean up.

If you have a registry cleaner run it also.
Now your all clean.
Do a insert + f11, and see just what all is running.
For some you may have to go into control panel, task bar and startup menu.
Just un check hide icons and they will show all.
Stop all that don't need to run and then shut computer off and once off
restart it.
That will purge the memory and come up clean. Where a reboot will still
keep junk around.

Increase the amount of physical ram installed on your system.

reduce the number of programs open simultaneously and running in the
background (a look in your system tray and in msconfig gives you
infomration on some of the background processes as does a look in task
manager)

practice general good computer maintenance as in running chkdsk and defrag
on a regular basis. How often you need to defrag also depends on what you
do on your computer. If you do a lot of copying and deleting, you need to
defrag more often.

Maybe use a memory manager/memory defrag program though some will argue on
the usefulness of such a utility. I use Freeram XP Pro, a free memory
manager utility. YOu will need to google for its homepage

If available, use a hardware synthesizer such as aDECTAlk express or
Accent external. Many of these can be had used for cheap these days as
they require a legacy serial port on the computer used. Many will work
fine on a usb to serial adapter or you can put an expansion card into your
computer.

Hi.

There is one thing that you can try, and see if it gives you a better way to
work with your Win 7.

Goto the taskbar and Startmenu group from the Controlpanel, and switch to
the Startmenu tab, and press the Customize button.

... I hope this instruction's is correct, I am running Windows in Danish
translation, so i do not have the correct label's for this button's, but
have translated them as good as possible.

When you have entered the Customize area, you have the descition's to switch

See wich is best for you, and hopefully it will do the use of Win 7 better

Emne: [JAWS-Users] Copying Website Link To Clipboard

In Windows XP I used to be able to copy a website link to my clipboard by
using the Key combo of control + D. This doesn't seem to work with Windows
7 and JAWS 12. Could someone please tell me how to do this?

Thanks,
Donnie

That's what I figured but you should have asked clearly in the first place.
Never the less it is no more than a couple of years old. I don't know if the
lady did any updating to it or not.

You do not need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute to skydive
twice.

[JAWS-Users] trying to get off of the list

2011-07-09 Thread Bill K.
I would like Donnie Parrett to tell me how to stop receiving this list. I
did what the web site tells me to do, and yet, I'm still here.
I even set up a rule so that I wouldn't get most of these messages, and
that's why I want Donnie to respond as I always get his stuff, and I really
would rather not see stuff from this list.

   thanks,
BILL K.

Well believe me since you asked so impolitely I will be happy to make you
stop receiving this list. Soon as I can get to the server your problem will
be solved and so will those folks who don't want to see such messages.

It will never cease to amaze me how a person can figure out how to subscribe
to a mailing list and yet be completely clueless as to the process of
leaving. Even when the address to un-subscribe is clearly listed on the help
page.
