Daily Tip: Excel: Add Months To A Date To add months to a date in Microsoft Excel 2010, enter a date in a cell (A1, for example). In another cell, type =EDATE(A1,[number of months you want to add]). Press ENTER to complete the formula. You can also do this without first entering a date in a cell. Simply choose a cell and type =EDATE([a date] ,[number of months you want to add]). Re: [JAWS-Users] How do i backup my system on an externalharddriveusing jaws?
It sounds like you want to perform an image backup of your entire system so that you can restore everything to the way it was in the event your local drive fails. If this is the case, your options are very limited. Although you can use an imaging program to back up your system without sighted help, you will need tech savvy sighted help to perform the system recovery if your local drive fails. This is because the recovery phase requires the use of a special boot CD which is not JAWS accessible because there is no speech available during this procedure. I personally back up my system every two weeks using Macrium Reflect which is free and may work with JAWS 8, although it does require using the JAWS cursor. If I ever had to restore my system from this back up, I would need tech-savvy sighted help. On the JAWS Users audio page is a three part tutorial explaining how to use a paid imaging program called Image for Windows to back up and restore your system without sighted help. The problem with this approach is that it requires storing the backup image on a series of DVD's instead of an external hard drive, which could be unreliable or cumbersome. And it requires performing the recovery without speech by following a series of steps very carefully, so if you screw up, you could have a real mess on your hands. If anyone else on this list is aware of an imaging program that works with JAWS during both the backup and recovery procedures and allows you to store the backup image on an external hard drive rather than DVD's , I would sure like to know about it. Re: [JAWS-Users] How to get information about jaws that is useable to me
Hi, the JAWS installation disc should have FS reader as well as some training material. If it didn't get installed for some reason, I think I would uninstall JAWS and start over with a complete reinstall. Although the training material on the installation may have updates available, it should still be applicable and help until you can figure out why you can't download any new updates.
