[JAWS-Users] jaws tandam with windows 7 UAC screen!

2012-04-20 Thread (Lists) Paul Traynor
Hi All,

Has anyone got any tips for getting past the UAC screen on remote PC when
using jaws tandam. I have tried using the Alt + Y to accept what I am
doing for example installing software on another persons computer but
everything seems to lock up and I get no response. My only way around it was
to contact the person whose computer I am trying to work on and get them
there to choose the Yes button and only then can I regain control.

Paul.

That seems to be the nature of the beast my friend. My thought is because it
has something to do with the operating system itself and there is nothing we
can do about it.

I've done a lot of tandem sessions myself and if your mouse even freezes up
then the person on the other end has to authorize you or you're sunk.

Hello there;

The only thing you can do is;

Before you connect to a windows 7 machine, make sure the user turns off the
UAC. The UAC will not allow you to except anything, in fact there's no way
to navigate to the yes button,

Windows 7 Shortcut Keys
Windows 7 is the next version of Microsoft Windows, an operating
system for both home and business. As with its previous counterparts
(Windows XP, Windows ME, Windows 98, Windows 95, Vista), developers of
Windows 7 have made available many shortcut keys to make our lives
easier. These shortcut keys are very similar to those of Windows
Vista. We'll take a look at some of these shortcut keys below.

New in Windows 7
The → symbol stands for the right arrow key, ← for the left arrow key, etc.

Win+↑ Maximize the current window
Win+↓ If the current window is maximized, restore it; if the current
window is restored, minimize it
Win+← Dock the current window to the left half of the screen
*If it is already docked left, it is moved to the right half of the screen
*If it is already docked right, it is restored to its original size
Win+→ Dock the current window to the right half of the screen

both home and business. As with its previous counterparts (Windows XP, Windows
ME, Windows 98, Windows 95, Vista), developers of Windows 7 have made available
many shortcut keys to make our lives easier. These shortcut keys are very
similar to those of Windows Vista. We'll take a look at some of these shortcut

Hi Norman, that was indeed the case in Windows Vista, but with Windows
7 came a modification of that behaviour. It is now ALT+Y.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] jaws tandam with windows 7 UAC screen!

 Paul.

[JAWS-Users] Can not always go back to message list in ThunderBird

2012-04-20 Thread leonard morris
I can not always go back to message list in ThunderBird email. What
seems to happen is when I launch Thundrebird sometimes a message is
opened and I can not use ctrl tab to get back to the message list.
ThunderBird will switch to a new message. If I reboot the computer
sometimes the problem gets fixed and sometimes it doesn't. Is there a
consistent method to get back to the message list once a message has
been opened? Also, how do I stop ThunderBird from announcing misspelled
while reviewing a message I wrote?

Re: [JAWS-Users] classic shell was JFW 13.0.718 and Windows 7 64 bit version

2012-04-20 Thread Kimsan
Hi,
I just installed this classic shell thing to see what the excitement was all
about. I like it but I need one clarification. In the readme it says the
following: 2) Open a new Windows Explorer window
3) Make sure the toolbar is hidden (if you uninstall while the toolbar
is visible, the menu bar in Explorer will get stuck in the visible state and
you won't be able to hide it)
How do I do number 3?

Will I need to have classic shell running while doing this or does it
matter?
Thanks.
