Re: [JAWS-Users] CD/DVD burning programs?
ok, as best i can, a .dot iso file is a disk burning image, it has all the information but is structured like a disk burn pattern it became somewhat popular when folks learned (and programs came out for this) that one could mount the image, which turned it into a virtual image drive, of the media on it so it became like the burned disk in the drive so one could access the information on it. another point on .iso files there used quite often for production of disks, if i wanted to save an image of a file to burn over and over again, and yet still have it modifiable i would save it as a dot iso file hope this clears it up some for you, if not ask away, I'll keep hacking at it until you get the answer you need. take care, inthane -Original Message- From: jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of leonard morris Sent: Tuesday, September 04, 2012 3:53 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] CD/DVD burning programs? Re: [JAWS-Users] FS cast
My question is with all these new commands, will those of us who don't plan to migrate to 8 just yet still be able to use what we know or will the new command structure affect us also? I ask because at work I am supposed to get 13 in the next few months and they won't change once that is installed for several years. If 14 runs with 7 and I assume it will, and I have it and later versions on my home computer will I be constantly having to readjust from one system to the next. Part of the problem here is that someone had to script a lot to make the programs I now use work for me and will not want to script for 14 even if I were to insist and the hospital is paying for his expertise. I only hope he allows me to completely turn off help messages once I am familiar with what we have in 13 as I can't do it now, have tried by changing verbosity to advanced and still I keep hearing "for help press jaws key F1..." and after four years of that 40 hours a week I am heartily sick of it. If I were brave, and I am not, I'd open up the scripts and put apostrophes in front of those lines. However, this was a huge project several years ago and I have not wanted to get inside there. Word is my Word processor and there were no scripts needed there but the rest of the program does not seem to work well and in many places at all without the bundle. I can modify a script, even write a small one but would never tackle anything of the magnitude we are discussing here. Hi. I think windows 8 has a built in mail client but I don't know how accessible it's going to be. As for windows 7 you have a couple of options. If you buy Microsoft office you can use outlook. That is what I use. There are also a couple of others like thunderbird or windows live mail. -Original Message- From: jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Maheen Sent: Thursday, September 06, 2012 10:00 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] Question about what email client to use for windows 7 or 8? I had that at work whenever the computer locked and had them turn it off on mine so I would not have to reboot but that was in about 2000. Long time for that to be cured or rather not cured. Rose Combs roseco...@q.com -Original Message- From: jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Bissett, Tom Sent: Thursday, August 30, 2012 8:50 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] when locking my computer At work we are requested to lock our computers when not at the keyboard. The key stroke I use is windowsKey+l. I am running jaws 13 latest build and xp service pack 3. When I envoke the WindowsKey+l it is not only locking my computer but it is also freezing my keyboard. It looks like as though jaws loses the keymap files so the keyboard does nothing and I have to do a hard reboot. It is intermittent and I haven't identify anything that would cause it to do so. David, I kind of got the impression from Eric's description, that Window's 8 was laid out much like the i Phone screen is, what is your take on that, since you too use one? Also, the Samantha voice very closely resembles Siri to me anyways. - Original Message - From: "David Ferrin" To: Sent: Thursday, September 06, 2012 3:29 AM Subject: [JAWS-Users] FS cast It's up for download boys and girls.
