[JAWS-Users] amazon ordering form problem

2013-03-02 Thread leonard morris
I was trying to add a credit card to make a purchase on amazon.com.
However, after entering the credit card number I tried to use alt down
arrow to open the combo boxes for expiration date and expiration year
but when you arrow down to find month or year in these two combo boxes I
get bounced back in to the edit box for the credit card number. These
kinds of forms are usually pretty straightforward and I had know issue
in the past but it's not working correctly now. I am using Jaws v13 and
windows 7.

Hi Leonard,
Perhaps the credit card number is in the wrong format, so it won't allow you

Some forms will allow dashes or spaces between the groups of numbers, and

Tabbing through in Forms Mode may not be the best practice. You could
review the form as you go through it with the virtual cursor by going
out of Forms Mode, hitting the PC cursor after you've typed, and then
down arrowing through until the next form field (or combo box) where you
press enter into Forms Mode - and press alt+DownArrow to ensure opening
the combo box.

[JAWS-Users] using iTunes to put a ring tone on my phone

2013-03-02 Thread David Ferrin
Thank you to the gentlemen who pointed me in the right direction. The problem
in large part was since I use gold wave to convert my audio files it wasn't
placing anything in the meta data field or how ever you spell it so some of the
tones were showing up as GW Meta Data and since 2 of them were the same size it
wouldn't transfer the newest tone. I figured out how in iTunes to edit that tag
and then everything went just fine. Truly an annoying experience.

I had to hit the applications key on the file and pick get information which
was found by thinking this shouldn't work so let's try it any way. Believe me
that isn't the first time such a thing has happened to me. In there is where I
was able to modify that tag line. Now to make sure I will repeat the experiment
today or soon as time permits as it is snowing and my shovel is calling my
name.

[JAWS-Users] to those people receiving digest messages

2013-03-02 Thread David Ferrin
I did another adjustment last evening to the threshold limit as to when a new
digest will be dispatched. Hopefully it will be not too large but also not take
too much time between postings. The last digest was almost a mega byte which
was an error on my part placing too many zeros in the field for the size of it.
Blame it on the hour of the day when I did that and call it good. At this point
all new digests will be triggered at 250 KB. With luck that will be a happy
medium.

i have the same problem with both a desktop and a laptop. for some

i then hearmenu or context menu and i have to press escape to close
it and then i am in eudora but the menu i was on would have closed

i do believe this did start with jaws 13, but it may have happened

When I delete a file or an e-mail from a list, after yessing the 'are

Hi Chris,
Yes, you can edit the scripts, making sure to back them up first.
It would seem to me that if text was copied to the clipboard
prior to the script being active, then nothing else would be placed on the
clipboard.
If you open the Quicken script file,
and then look for:
ComputeDistance
you will find the related code.

A couple more questions on this, if I may: Are these scripts editable?
Are there functions that I could use to save and then restore the
clipboard data before and after this function is run?

 HI
I believe that message is coming from some debugging code in the function
ComputeDistance in the JAWS Quicken 2003 scripts. It is also copied to
 the
clipboard which explains how it showed up when you pasted the amount into
Quicken. The Quicken 2003 scripts will be used for versions 2003 and
 earlier.

 Subject: [JAWS-Users] distance is 2 case 1

Strange subject, I know, but I've been having this little problem with the
latest Jaws 14. Sometimes I'll go into k1000 or a webpage or whatever,
 and
most carefully select something like the amount of a bill so I can go
 paste
it into excel or quicken or whatever. Sometimes I get the amount, other
times I get the message of distance is 2. I just got this and tried the
insert-space then c to see what Jaws claims is in the clipboard and it
 said
distance is 2 case 1. Am I the only one getting this? Has anyone else
reported it? I'm tempted to do so, but I don't know if I can make it
 happen
on demand. The really weird thing this time was that when I pasted the
first time I got my amount, and the second time I pasted I got this. It
 is
like something aka Jaws is playing with the clipboard contents at some
point. I suspect Jaws, because this particular frustration has yet to
 happen with NVDA or Window-eyes.
