[JAWS-Users] amazon ordering form problem
I was trying to add a credit card to make a purchase on amazon.com. However, after entering the credit card number I tried to use alt down arrow to open the combo boxes for expiration date and expiration year but when you arrow down to find month or year in these two combo boxes I get bounced back in to the edit box for the credit card number. These kinds of forms are usually pretty straightforward and I had know issue in the past but it's not working correctly now. I am using Jaws v13 and windows 7. Hi Leonard, Perhaps the credit card number is in the wrong format, so it won't allow you to continue. Some forms will allow dashes or spaces between the groups of numbers, and some won't. Tabbing through in Forms Mode may not be the best practice. You could review the form as you go through it with the virtual cursor by going out of Forms Mode, hitting the PC cursor after you've typed, and then down arrowing through until the next form field (or combo box) where you press enter into Forms Mode - and press alt+DownArrow to ensure opening the combo box. - Original Message - From: leonard morris lmorris1...@gmail.com To: jaws jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Saturday, March 02, 2013 8:37 AM Subject: [JAWS-Users] amazon ordering form problem I was trying to add a credit card to make a purchase on amazon.com. [JAWS-Users] alt+f4: needing to press it twice
On all the computers I use, and on my students' computers as well, with JAWS 13 and 14, pressing alt+f4 often just says 'menu bar' and closes nothing so we have to press the keystroke again. [JAWS-Users] using iTunes to put a ring tone on my phone
Thank you to the gentlemen who pointed me in the right direction. The problem in large part was since I use gold wave to convert my audio files it wasn't placing anything in the meta data field or how ever you spell it so some of the tones were showing up as GW Meta Data and since 2 of them were the same size it wouldn't transfer the newest tone. I figured out how in iTunes to edit that tag and then everything went just fine. Truly an annoying experience. I had to hit the applications key on the file and pick get information which was found by thinking this shouldn't work so let's try it any way. Believe me that isn't the first time such a thing has happened to me. In there is where I was able to modify that tag line. Now to make sure I will repeat the experiment today or soon as time permits as it is snowing and my shovel is calling my name. [JAWS-Users] to those people receiving digest messages
I did another adjustment last evening to the threshold limit as to when a new digest will be dispatched. Hopefully it will be not too large but also not take too much time between postings. The last digest was almost a mega byte which was an error on my part placing too many zeros in the field for the size of it. Blame it on the hour of the day when I did that and call it good. At this point all new digests will be triggered at 250 KB. With luck that will be a happy medium. Re: [JAWS-Users] alt+f4: needing to press it twice
i have the same problem with both a desktop and a laptop. for some reason when closing one thing the menu bar is brought up as a context menu of the next application that comes up. for example, if i am looking a list of files on my hard drive, when i close it with alt+f4 i then hearmenu or context menu and i have to press escape to close it and then i am in eudora but the menu i was on would have closed eudora if i arrowed to the close item of the menu and pressed enter. i do believe this did start with jaws 13, but it may have happened with jaws 12, but not sure. When I delete a file or an e-mail from a list, after yessing the 'are you sure you want to delete etc'. message, JAWS repeats the name of the file/e-mail I think I have deleted, instead of the next one in the list. when I empty the recycle bin, although everything is gone, JAWS insists on speaking the name of the file I was pointing to when I commanded the recycle bin to empty. If I read with insert+up arrow, sometimes I get the correct information. If not, I have to close the list and reopen it in order to be sure of what happened. Hi Chris, Yes, you can edit the scripts, making sure to back them up first. It would seem to me that if text was copied to the clipboard prior to the script being active, then nothing else would be placed on the clipboard. If you open the Quicken script file, and then look for: ComputeDistance you will find the related code.
