[JAWS-Users] SHORTCUT KEYSTROKE TO ATTACH A FILE TO AN E-MAIL MESSAGE

2013-04-11 Thread DERICK GREEFF
Dear All

I recently changed to MSOutlook 2007 using JAWS 13 on a Windows 7 operating
system.

The old shortcut keystroke from MSOutlook 2003 of ALT plus I to get from
within the message into the attachment menu does not work with outlook 2007.
Is there someone who can tell me what the shortcut keystroke is to get into
the attachment or insert menu from within a written message?

Press alt to get to the ribbon, then arrow to insert. Tab once to
get to 'attach file' and press enter. Paste in the file name, press
enter, and it's there.

the shortcut for insert is alt-n.

Hi

You can create a new folder by pressing alt+o to open the folder tab while
you're in a list of messages. If you're using the JAWS virtual Ribbon,
arrow down to the new sub-menu and arrow right to new folder and press
enter. The first entry will be the name you want to give the folder.
Press
tab and you'll be on an entry of what the folder contains. It should say
mail and post items. If it says anything else, select mail and post
items.

The next press of tab will take you to the folder you want the new folder
to
be under. The folder you are currently in will be the default choice. I
would press the left arrow until you get to the top level folder to make
the
folder the same level is Inbox and then tab to the ok button and press
enter. To direct mail from someone to be automatically moved to that
folder, you need to have the person's email address in your address book
and
then create an Outlook rule. Press alt+f to open the back stage view.
Tab
until it says rules And alerts . A say line should say manage rules.
Press

enter. You should be on the New Rule button. If not tab to that button.
Press enter. You should be on the choice that says move messages from
someone to a folder.. If it says something else, find that choice. Now
press tab and it will say step 2, edit the rule description. ... people
or
distribution list. Press enter to open your address book. Find that
person's entry and then press enter. Then tab to the ok button and press
enter. Now down arrow and it will say move it to the specified folder.
Press enter to open the folder list and then find the folder you created
and
press enter. Tab to the ok button and press enter. Now tab to the finish
button and press enter to exit. The new rule will have a name of the
person's name and email address.

recognize this control. Are you having this problem? I have checked all of

Hi Fred, I think your computer might landing in the wrong pain. This is a
sub section of the screen. I'm not sure, but try F6 to see if you can get
into the other pain and then you should be able to arrow up and down to hear
the subjects and when you hit Enter, it should start reading the message.

Sorry I don't know anything more, since the person who set mine up, set it
to automatically go into the inbox and into the correct window pain.

Best of luck to you. Vicky
