Re: [JAWS-Users] Charter Webmail
Hi Elf, The original question was me asking if anyone knew how to havigate Charter Webmail. I don't have any problems with my email client, Outlook Express & Charter but, I wanted to look at some settings on the charter Website / Webmail to see if Webmail was stopping me from receiving certain emails. So, I was asking if anyone had any tips on navigating Charter's Webmail. I found out that it is flash based so attempting to navigate it would be damn near impossible! However, I did make a change to in settings that made a little easier to navigate but, accessing any messages was still impossible. Thank you very much for your reply. Also, Marvin thank you for your input & replies as well. Take care. Re: [JAWS-Users] View on screen not follow Jaws PC cursor
Jaws reformats the web page in the vertual buffer. So what jaws sees is not what is really shown on the screen. At 01:00 PM 4/21/2013, you wrote: Sometimes when I canât get Jaws to click an element I ask my sighted husband to click it with the regular mouse pad. It often seems that the portion of the webpage visible on the computer screen does not follow the Jaws PC cursor. The problem is that when I find the location with Jaws he says the words are not on the screen. Shouldnât there be a visible cursor showing where the Jaws focus is on the screen? Granted, my husband has vision but no computer skills so he canât locate the spot I want him to click without much guidance from me. Since I canât see the screen at all I donât know if there is a cursor there or not. Would it affect Jaws if I tried to make the mouse pointer bigger or something, if it is really onscreen at all. Is there some kind of Jaws page formatting that would make the page appear in the way sighted people see it? Any suggestions will be appreciated. [JAWS-Users] upgrading a system to windows 7
Before I come to my senses or get a life I am taking a shot at converting an XP Media Center system to a Windows 7 system mostly on my own. While XP was still running I inserted the Windows 7 DVD and waited for it to start. I followed the prompts and let it do it's thing rebooting a few times along the way. Once it quieted down and with my wife's confirmation it was ready I launched Narrator and was able to step through the process of the out of box experience ETC completing the initial setup. Then using NVDA but I guess Narrator would have still done it I managed to install JAWS 14. The point of all of this boys and girls is that it is possible to do it without help if you take your time and don't get in to a rush. I am trying to take notes during this process regarding the various settings I like to change when configuring such an animal but that really hasn't started yet. It's too nice a day outside, maybe tomorrow I will pick this back up. David Ferrin Always be yourself because the people that matter don't mind, and the ones that mind don't matter. Re: [JAWS-Users] View on screen not follow Jaws PC cursor
Sherrie, The next time you're in your browser and this situation comes up, you might go into settings (jaws key + 6 on numbers row), arrow down to user, right arrow to open, arrow down until you hear "display virtual viewer on screen" and check it. You can then alt F4, then save the changes; to see if it helps your husband see what's on the screen. Worth a try to see if it makes a difference. That is also a toggle. Press it twice within a second to save your desired setting. (It's too confusing to have the JAWS cursor following the PC cursor all the time: Plus, the PC cursor then doesn't move properly because it is being restricted by the JAWS cursor. - Original Message - From: "Shari" To: Sent: Sunday, April 21, 2013 12:25 AM Subject: [JAWS-Users] Jaws cursor not following PC cursor Hi All, When I route the Jaws cursor to the PC cursor, I'm not in the same place as I was with the PC cursor. I need to route the Jaws cursor to the PC to click a control Jaws 13 isn't recognizing with either IE or Firefox. When I route the Jaws cursor, it either switches me to another open program, or it just reads a small amount of text no matter whether the cursor is in real, focus, unrestricted, etc. I guess somehow the 2 cursors have become unattached. Can someone please tell me how to get them back together? Thank you, Shari te the For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/ For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/ For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/ For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/

Hi list members, I'm having a problem when using Firefox and when I go to www.youtube.com after I get there, I'm unable to search for "atomic power of prayer part2~" I don't remember having this problem before. I would appreciate any help that anyone can give concerning this situation. For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/
