Flor, I tried over and over to activate the mouse over, but could not do it.
I finally just got my husband to use the physical mouse and get the silly
policy that way.

Thanks for your email about the merge utility. I just did it and it took
about 5 seconds and I noticed right away my dictionary entries were added to
14, so that is fantastic.

Do you have JAWS turned on to indicate OnMouseover links/elements? Did
JAWS say, "could not detect any changes", after the 3-in-1 keystroke? Or
did it say nothing, and treat it as an ordinary link? If the latter,
then you may not be doing the keystroke correctly, (thus my NOTE on it:
The JAWSkey [or Insert key] first; then the control and enter keys
together, in the three-in-one.) If possible, find some other OnMouseOver
link, which may be more amenable, on which to practise. If JAWS detects
a change after the onMouseover click, it will say, "change detected at
line xx" and will (I think) position you on that line or near it.

Flor, I just tried that, but nothing changed. So, I will just have to
assume this particular link is JAWS-proof, unfortunately, unless anyone
else has some ideas. Thanks for your suggestion.

After you've pressed the keys to find the MouseOver, which is what you
did, then press control+JAWSKey+enter to activate it. JAWS will then
tell you if it detected any changes. NOTE: It may be important to press
the JAWSKey first, before the other two, for the key combo to work
properly.

Hi Judy,

The reason Yahoo doesn't do anything about it is because it is 100%
accessible. The only problem is that people aren't taking the time to learn

it, but from what I can tell, it is completely accessible with Jaws.

Having said that though, you can use their mobile version at the following
link:

http://m.yahoo.com/w/ygo-mail%3B_ylt=A0KjqcaaV.dRJWsANg8p89w4?.intl=CA&.lang
=en-ca

Unfortunately, you're only left with a list of 10 messages you can view at a

time, and you have to enter on the folders link to view the rest of your
folders, such as the drafts, sent items and spam folder, if you have it
activated, but otherwise, it's just as accessible as the other version
you're so used to seeing.

Once you're finished checking the ten showing messages, enter on the older
messages link, and you'll get ten more, and so on until you see all your
messages.

I know, it's a pain in the butt, but there's really no one we can blame for
thise, save for Yahoo themselves, but I don't even think they can be blamed,

since they're giving the majority of people what they asked for.

My wife has nothing but good things to say about the new Yahoo interface,
but she's sighted, and so doesn't experience the same problems we do.

In any case, hope the above information helps you.

David and all, a coworker of mine, while talking to him about this issue,
said that he has trouble dealing with the new Yahoo as well because of all
the junk they have on the site. There are so many ads all over the place
that he has trouble himself working it and he is sighted. I don't know why
these web designers think that this is good. I do know people who use text
only sites that I use myself who are sighted just so they don't have to look
at all this stuff. Judy & Tallie

My wife can see fairly well and she is a professional database administrator
yet she found the Yahoo page for their new interface less than an enjoyable
experience.

If she were not able to use the mouse on a minimal basis then it wouldn't
work for her either. Never the less I purchased her a subscription as well
to minimize the hassle.

It is interesting that over the past several years web masters have been
placing a never ending amount of useless junk on their pages to make them
look more appealing and now people are reverting back to a more simpler time
with pages that only seem to contain what is needed and very little else.

Scorpio, I do not understand how this new Yahoo mail is completely
accessible. Others on this list have also said they are having trouble, so
it's not just me. My problem with all this is that I am an average computer
user, and many of you on this list are much more technically savvy than I
will ever be. I do not want to have to jump through seventeen hoops, stand
on my head and do whatever else just to read my emaiol. Sighted people don't
have to go through all these changes to do so. I couldn't figure out how to
get the Yahoo mail to do absolutely anything. So even with my several years
of knowledge with computers and jaws it isn't enough. To me that is too
complicated. Thanks to all for the mobile yahoo site. I tried it and I can
use it just fine. That is weird to me, but I won't question it. (smile)
