Thank you. I have buttons and links that will simply not work on certain pages.I thought it was because of my outdated IE8, but they are the same with IE10. [JAWS-Users] computer backup
Hello, Running Windows 8 and Jaws 15 Beta. I think this subject has been discussed before, but I am not sure about it. I am using a Dell Inspiron, don’t remeber the model, and I would like to, ideally, backup the whole system. If this is not possible, at least I would like to back up Windows 8. My computer came with it installed, but I didn’t get a DDBD for the case it broke down. Every now and then a window emerges with the message ‘dell backup and recovery button’, but I don’t know what thi does and how it works. Could some one please give me step-by-step instructions as how to back up either the whole computer, or Windows 8 to a DVD disk? Thank you in advance. Re: [JAWS-Users] Continued authorization issue
Hi What software are you running to host your virtual machine? When I first started installing a virtual machine a few months ago, I started with the Windows virtual machine host software from Microsoft that had a KB number as part of the install file name. I had the same problem of JAWS saying it was not authorized to run in a terminal session. I couldn't find any way around that issue. But I discovered that I could run my virtual machine under VMware Player versions 5 and 6, which is free for non-commercial users. That's VMware Player, not VMware WorkStation which is quite expensive. So I uninstalled the Microsoft software and installed VMware Player. You can find JAWS scripts for VMware Player at http://mysite.verizon.net/marangs/VMware.html Even though the documentation on the above page only mentions VMware Player 3.x, they seem to work fine with versions 5 and 6. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Liz Wade Sent: Sunday, October 20, 2013 10:24 To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] Continued authorization issue hi all: I purchased a 3 key license of jaws 14 pro and have installed it on my windows 7 pro machine and was intending to install one of the other keys on my windows xp mode virtual machine; however, when I do this I receive the message this program is not authorized to run in a terminal session, what does this mean and do I need to purchase something else? Not according to the person that I spoke to at the Microsoft accessibility help line. Also, at the tech's suggestion, I tried the same web sites with another browser. I used Google Chrome, and the same sites had no problem using JAWS 15. Re: [JAWS-Users] IE 11 being weird with JAWS
Okay, see, with me it's just loading as blank end of story as they say. But it does load the US Bing news page just fine. That's the only one that works just fine. I submitted a report to FS earlier. I went to twit today to watch Frame Rate, and it does play the video stream, but you can't navigate the page. It does say the whole twit netcasts you love from people you trust thing. But once you start hitting the arrow keys, no luck. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Allen Childs Sent: Monday, October 21, 2013 3:01 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] IE 11 being weird with JAWS I see. I am having trouble with, streaming using Windows Media Player, and a site called Blind Cafe. When I start listening to a TV show, then IE 11 goes to blank tab. That explains some thing. When the US Bing news site loads, all is well. But when I go anywere else, no luck. The sites I've tried include Dell, Twit www.twit.tv, cyberlink, and others I can't remember at the moment. Oh yeah, Bose too. www.bose.com -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Allen Childs Sent: Monday, October 21, 2013 2:38 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] IE 11 being weird with JAWS Not according to the person that I spoke to at the Microsoft accessibility help line. He says that IE 11 is not compatible with more than a few web sites, and the problem will be resolved in the near future. Also, at the tech's suggestion, I tried the same web sites with another browser. I used Google Chrome, and the same sites had no problem using JAWS 15. JAWS says new tab page whenever any new page loads, which is odd but not a big deal. A bigger deal is that Flexible Web does not work for me anymore. I can view/add/edit/delete rules, but rules are never applied anymore. Has IE 11 been working for you? For me either IE 11 isn't working well, or what it seems to me is more likely is JAWS is being odd. The pages seem to be blank. But then again, it loads the US Bing news page just fine. So perhaps it is IE 11. I'd like to see what's going on with every one else though.
