Hi All,

All of the sudden our computers are not seeing each other over our home
network but, they can all access the printer via the same home network.
Each computer only sees its own shared drives / files / folders when opening
My Network Places in XP & Network in Windows7. This started just within the
last few days & we don't have a clue as to why. I checked the IP Address &
Subnet Mask numbers & the same are used for the Firewall configuration
settings. We're running Vipre AntiVirus & Internet Security but, even when
we turned off the firewall we get the same results & it doesn't matter which
version of Jaws is running or not running. This is happening between 2 XP
Pro, 1 XP Home, & 1 Windows7 Pro 64 bit computers. We re-ran the Network
Setup Wizard 3 times but, no go! Can anyone help?! All advice & input will
be graciously accepted & greatly appreciated! Thank you all very much.

Take care.

Setup Wizard 3 times but, no go! Can anyone help?! All advice & input will
be graciously accepted & greatly appreciated! Thank you all very much.

Take care.

[JAWS-Users] FW: Dan's tip for November 18 again

2013-11-18 Thread Steve & Shannon Cook
Hi All,

Below is some information on burning CD's using Windows Media Player.

Steve and Shannon Cook

Today I married my best friend.

The one that I laugh with, live for, love.

October 11, 2003

From: dan Thompson [mailto:dthomps...@mchsi.com]
Sent: Monday, November 18, 2013 5:21 PM
To: dan Thompson
Subject: Dan's tip for November 18 again

Well, I was a very poor speller/editor in the previous issue of this tip so
to save face, here it is again.

Burning a CD with Windows Media Player and an Alternative

There are two pieces to this tip. The first deals with Windows Media Player
and detailed steps to burning a cd (data or audio.) The second is an
alternative way of burning a CD.

The start of Each section in the two part tip is marked with an asterisk.
Thus, one can use their find/replace in a word processor to move between the
two parts.

I am also attaching an excelent guide regarding Windows Media Player 11 and
JAWS. This document explains in detail all the options and customization
that are available in WMP.

*I.

Burning a CD with Windows Media Player Quick Method

1. Place a blank cd into the cdrw drive and close it.

2. Shortly a prompt will appear on screen asking what you wish to do with
this disc, "open, play etc."

So press the letter o for open followed by enter. Leave this window open
for later use.

3. Navigate to the location of files for the cd burning project and select
them.

a. To select all press control plus the letter a.

b. If you wish to select noncontinuous files (not below each other in the
list), do the following

Move to the first file to be selected.

Hold down the left control key and press the spacebar twice or until you
hear the file's name followed by the word "selected.

Next, keep the control key down and arrow to each file to be included and
hit the spacebar. You will hear "selected" if using a screenreader. This
option of selecting files can be done without a screenreader. I mention
this because there may be some visual computer users who wish to use the
keyboard.

4. Once all files are selected using the "select all" or "noncontinuous"
method, press control plus the letter c for copying all files to the
clipboard.

Mouse users can click the right mouse button and click on "copy."

5. Press alt plus tab and return to the open window of the cdrw drive.

6. Press control plus the letter v to paste in clipboard's contents.

7. Press alt plus the letter f.

8. Press the letter t.

9. Press alt plus the letter n for next.

10. If you are recording a data cd, Windows Media will start recording the
cd automatically and open the cdrw tray when finished.

11. If making an audio cd, You will be prompted if you wish to make an
audio or data cd. The default is audio. Some individuals make their audio
cd's as data cd's to fit more on the disc. However, these will not play in
a standard cd player. So that is why audio is default. Data cd's are
usually text, program or photo files. So assuming you wish to make an audio
cd, Press alt plus n again.

12. Windows media Player will open. Then press alt plus the letter s to
start the burn.

13. Windows media player will open the cdrw tray when finished.

14. Remove the cd and close the tray.

15. Navigate back to the cdrw drive. You will find the titles of the files
just recorded.

Press control plus the letter a followed by the delete key.

16. Press the letter y for the prompt asking if you are sure about removing
mutiple files.

This only removes the titles from the cdrw drive and not from the original
location. This makes it easier when preparing for another cd burn. If you
do not remove the tracks, they will still be their the next time entering
the cdrw drive.

Verse and Thought:

The Lord is my helper

Hebrews 13:5-6
Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have,
for he has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." So we can
confidently say, "The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to
me?"
 (ESV)

Inspiring Thought: The Lord is My Helper

In these
 hard
times of extreme economic instability, it's easy to lose focus, take our
eyes off God, and begin to worry about

money. But, not only does the Lord say, "I will never leave you nor forsake
you," the wise old Psalmist observed in Psalm 37:25, "I have never seen the
righteous forsaken or their children begging bread."

If you find yourself fretting today, let this passage infuse you with
confidence in the Lord's ability to take care of you. God is your helper! Do
not fear!

If close enough, You are invited to a time of praise and prayer from 5:00 to
6:00 every Tuesday held in the lounge at First Presbyterian Church

List, I use Merrill lynch-Bank of America for my investments and there is a
unresolved issue for many who are using IE11. After trying some possible
fixes, the only alternative right now is for me to use another browser that
is compatible with Jaws.

Ideally a jaws friendly browser that is easy to use.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Using Tween

2013-11-18 Thread inamuddin
Dear respected friend, when I have started using twitter for the first time,
I was using qwitter.
After afew months, twitter has changed its [api] and I was forced to use the
qube.
All of sudden I was having issue to my windows and the qube stopped and I
began to search another alternative client and found chicken nugget and
tween.
In tween there is no friends and followers list and because of autometic
translation from japanies to english via google translator, you will face
different problems frequently.
If you want short cut keys to use tween, type:
http://www.dlee.org/tween/resources.htm

In my openion, chicken nugget twitter client is better for you.
Beta version will cost you nothing, but full functionality will cost you
dollars 15 1 time.

For more information, type http://q-continuum.net/chicken_nugget.html

If you want more help, feel free to add me my skype id: charlsdarwin1 I'll
love to help you anytime anyday you want, because if a blind person doesn't

You can add up to eight different pages, including your home page(s),

options may be explored through internet Options, in the General Tanb,

The problem I and some others are having are with IE 10 and IE 11. The issue
is with IE and not a jaws issue as sighted users are also having the problem
including my wife who is sighted. That said, other than this problem, IE 11
is working very well and is quite fast and has resolved some issues on IE 9
and Ie 10 including interfacing with web page links better than IE 9.
There are so many variables with each computer configuration so that all IE
10 and IE 11 users at Merrill lynch web site are not facing the same
problems I am facing with my particular Sony laptop. I am now installed Fire
Fox on this computer and can now resume trading on the Merril lynch web site

much
impressed when I was starting a job back in 2001 as a book keeper for

Jaws and Open Book just won hands down.

So it's all I've ever known or used, it has some quirks at times or
maybe
it's me or my Os, who knows, now I guess it's my ISP, next it will be

I like a list that allows for us to agree to disagree. I want no ill

I know this was just recently discussed and I read the posts. I want
to try
this but I have this temperamental bank that gives me nothing but fits
and
just recently they upgraded their computers and I just dreaded what
that
would mean for me, fortunately the bill pay part did not change, so if
I
upgrade my browser here, well hope yall understand why I am bit
hesitant.
All my bills are setup through my bank's bill pay, this is crucial for
me to
access.

I have been lazy here too, I have jaws 13 on my window's 7 laptop, 14
and 15
just came couple weeks ago, so get this now..a vender here locally who
sells
FS products, has advised me not to install additional versions of Jaws
on
one system. Well now, weather that is right or wrong, I have done that
in
past. The dinosaur xp has 11 and 12 on it, but haven't installed
anything
above 13 for the laptop, so what say ye on this subject?

much
impressed when I was starting a job back in 2001 as a book keeper for

Jaws and Open Book just won hands down.

So it's all I've ever known or used, it has some quirks at times or
maybe
it's me or my Os, who knows, now I guess it's my ISP, next it will be

Re: [JAWS-Users] g-mail and IMAP.

2013-11-18 Thread Trish
it's in print which I personally like better, just saying..

1.Enable POP in your email account. Don't forget to click Save Changes when
you're done.
2. Open Windows Mail.
3. Click the Tools menu, and select Accounts...
4. Click Add...
5. Select Email Account, and click Next.
6. Enter your name as you would like it to appear in the 'From:' field of
outgoing messages, and click Next.
7. Enter your full Gmail address (usern...@gmail.com).
8. Fill in all necessary fields to include the following information:
Incoming mail server type: POP3
Incoming mail (POP3) server: pop.gmail.com.
Outgoing mail server type: SMTP
Outgoing mail server (SMTP) smtp.gmail.com
Outgoing server requires authentication: enabled
9. Click Next, and enter your full Gmail address (including '@gmail.com')
and your Gmail password.
10. Click Next, and then check the box next to Do not download my e-mail at
this time, then click Finish.
11. On the Internet Accounts screen, make sure that your pop.gmail.com mail
account is selected, and click the Properties button.
12. On the Advanced tab, enter 465 in the box next to Outgoing mail (SMTP),
then check the box next to This server requires an encrypted connection
(SSL).
13. Change the Incoming mail (POP3) to 995, then Check the box next to This
server requires an encrypted connection (SSL) under Incoming mail (POP3).
14. Click OK. You're done! Close the Internet Accounts window and click
Send/Receive to start checking your Gmail messages.

Re: [JAWS-Users] IE 10 or 11

2013-11-18 Thread Trish
I guess I didn't explain what I truly meant re Jaws. Jaws is all I've used
for me was 3.7, I haven't installed any other screen reader. I was much
impressed when I was starting a job back in 2001 as a book keeper for a
church and I was sent to San Antonio to test all the adaptive equipment,
Jaws and Open Book just won hands down.

So it's all I've ever known or used, it has some quirks at times or maybe
it's me or my Os, who knows, now I guess it's my ISP, next it will be the
devil, jk

I like a list that allows for us to agree to disagree. I want no ill with no
body and especially the mods. Jaws just works for me and I'm too old to
learn anew screen reader, I'll leave it at that..

Microsoft will be supporting IE 10 for some time.
As to Jaws, you can have multiple versions installed on the same machine.

Every time I call those bank yahoos, they want to holler it's jaws or it's
IE 9, they never want to own up that it could be them, this gets so old..
Maybe I should put all my $$ in a box under my mattress, lol

If your current browser is getting the job done, why upgrade?
Microsoft will be supporting IE 10 for some time.
As to Jaws, you can have multiple versions installed on the same machine.

All my bills are setup through my bank's bill pay, this is crucial for me to

I have been lazy here too, I have jaws 13 on my window's 7 laptop, 14 and 15

FS products, has advised me not to install additional versions of Jaws on

Hi Kathy.

One of the first things you're beeing asked for when setting your account
up, is whether it has to be a pop3 or imap account.
This should be like a compobox, where you can select imap using the arrow up
and down.

Go for it.

In my opinion, you would want to be checking your network settings if the PC
has moved from a different location and nothing else has changed.
It sounds to me as if something is taking up all the machine resources for
the duration that JAWS is not speaking as there are not enough resources
left for it to run correctly?
Possibly check in the event log of the machine.
What operating system is it?
Can you try a different network port/cable or disconnect any network drives

Hi all,

I'm using JAWS version 13 at work, & have recently moved to another branch.

At the old office, Jaws was working brilliantly well, with no issues at all.

When I changed offices, I took the computer I was using with me, & there
are no Jaws related files on the server.

Now, Jaws randomly just stops talking for 10 to 15 seconds, then returns to
normal. In between, it works as well as before. It happens 3 to 4 times
an hour, which is becoming quite frustrating, especially when on the phone
to a customer.

There is nothing I can do to make the voice come back on, I tried
alt-tabbing elsewhere, & everything else I can think of, but no joy.

If I don't do anything when it stops talking, it just comes back on after 10
seconds or so...

Can anyone please suggest what might be causing this, or what I can do to
track it down...

Thank you,
Paul from Australia

My first guess is that maybe there is an inaccessible pop-up that comes up
to give you some type of status. The other thought is that maybe the system
is busy doing something, I.e. Some type of security check. In either case,
you need someone sighted sitting at the computer to see if they see any type
of change on the screen, and to see if they still have mouse control, or if
the entire computer system is on hold or something like that.
