[JAWS-Users] There is a listen-livegraphic!
Hi, the thing that I found is if I were to use Firefox, nothing would happen but if I use Internet explorer 8, I wouldn't hear anything in terms of audio after pressing enter on the graphic. What version of jaws are you using? I don't know if that might also be a factor as well. I've tried this with jaws version 11 as well as jaws version 14. I don't know whether I'll have to use Silverlight in order to correct this issue? I hope that this information clarifies what I'm using and what happens. - Original Message - From: Jorge Paez jorgeapaez1...@gmail.com To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Sunday, December 15, 2013 8:46 AM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] I'm having problems with adobe flash player again! Re: [JAWS-Users] There is a listen-livegraphic!
Interesting. I was able to do it via Firefox after I realized it was a graphic and not an actual link. I'm using the latest firefox, along with the latest flash and JAWS 15. As far as IE, I think its having some major issues because IE on my end won't play youtube videos either. I mean I can click on a youtube link but no audio is played, and when I double checked with a sighted family member there was no video to it either. So this might be caused by the same bug as the youtube issue. Re: [JAWS-Users] contacts in outlook 2010
hello; here's a couple thpoughts for you. Turn on or off Auto-Complete List name suggestions The Auto-Complete List is a feature which displays suggestions for names and e-mail addresses as you begin to type them. These suggestions are possible matches from a list of names and e-mail addresses from the e-mail messages that you have sent. Auto-Complete list By default, this feature is turned on in Outlook. To turn on or off Auto-Complete List name suggestions, do the following: 1. Enter on the File tab. alt+f=options, 2. Up arrow enter Options. 3. Down-arrow choose Mail. Do not press enter here. Use the tab key, 4. Under Send messages, select or clear the Use Auto-Complete List to suggest names when typing in the To, Cc and Bcc lines check box. another thing you could do is, run the SCANPST.EXE, this can repair the PST file, if in fact there's error to be fixed. the other thing is, have you made sure that the screen is maximized? hope this gets you pointed in the right direction. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Denny Huff Sent: Sunday, December 15, 2013 5:50 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] contacts in outlook 2010 After you type in a few characters of the address, try pressing control K to check names. * Have questions about that IPhone, IPad or IPod Touch? [JAWS-Users] Audio Device
Good Mornin', I need to know when in the system's tray it states, the audio device is not running what that means and how do I fix it? This is on a win/7 laptop with Jaws 13. Today, I had a very very scarey incident happen when I turned on my laptop. Jaws came up loud and clear, but I heard no windows sounds, that was the weirdest thing to ever happen and I am just not sure why that happened. I could not get to desktop, start menu, sys tray nothing. I felt the fan and air flow and knew the laptop was on, but not any window sounds, then after a few minutes like around 5 long enough for me to make coffee, the window's sound finally came up but it wasn't very loud. So I checked the system's tray, and this is where I usually find that message stating, the audio device is not running, could that have any cause for window's sound not to have made it's boot up chime? Please help, now I am afraid to reboot or turn off! Trish For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/

I just thought of something, this is like sometimes when window's update has installed updates and you reboot, then sometimes Jaws comes up first louder than norm, then it seems to fade and the windows sounds comes on, and jaws again at it's normal pitch. It works better with windows 8, but you are also getting other bug fixes. I'd never buy an old version, Unless you plan on regaining your sight. Yes. The windows sound and audio failure are one and the same cause. Do you have JAWS running on its own sound card? -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Trish Sent: Monday, December 16, 2013 8:49 AM To: Jaws Users List Subject: [JAWS-Users] Audio Device Good Mornin', I need to know when in the system's tray it states, the audio device is not running what that means and how do I fix it? And one more thing, as far as money goes; If you get the latest version you can also get the longest coverage for update licenses. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Chris Hill Sent: Monday, December 16, 2013 10:10 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] what are the benifits of jaws 15 over jaws 14? It works better with windows 8, but you are also getting other bug fixes. I'd never buy an old version, Unless you plan on regaining your sight. You will probably need to upgrade eventually when your computer dies or whatever, starting with an old version costs you money at upgrade time. --- Blogging at tech-mysteries.blogspot.com On 12/15/2013 22:51, Mohib Anwar Rafel wrote: Hi friends we are going to purchase jaws, but confused between jaws 14 and 15. Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws 15 with radio buttons, and IE?
No, not in Jaws 15. It is A, as noted in the documentation. They seem to always change a couple commands with each version release. I understand the issues with conflicts with Windows 8 commands, but to me, it is a lack of user-friendliness to change commands that have been in Jaws for years and years to a different command when they add a new one. It would be more user-friendly just to add the new one with a new command. To me, A has no relation to radio button except for the long A sound. I'd suggest java.com But, I'd evaluate my true need for it first. It is still a security risk and most people don't need it. --- Blogging at tech-mysteries.blogspot.com On 12/16/2013 16:03, adrian wrote: does any one know of a way to get the java plug in? i looked for it in the windows update but i could not find it. ```Sent from my iPad For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/ For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/

[JAWS-Users] Recent Changes to Win Media Player
I think there must have been a recent update to Media Player. I always could just enter on a saved track from a CD in Documents or Attachment and it would play immediately. Now, there is something that must be done with recommended or customized settings. Can someone please advise me what I should be doing in order to get a track to play with JAWS 12 and Win 7 like it did in the past? In advance, thanks very much for your help. Re: [JAWS-Users] system tray icons
Hello Anna, Go to start with the windows key. You arrive at the search dialog. Search for show/hide, or just one of the two elements. Then tab to where the results are and press enter in settings. One of the results is show/hide inactive icons on the taskbas, or something like it. If you keep going down arrow you will find differents items you can sho or hide, sich as the battery. The system tray is called the taskbar notification area. I hope this hehlps. Just hit enter on the Recommended settings option. Either it updated like you suggest, or you reinstalled the os.
