[JAWS-Users] JAWS 12 is not reading correctly
I use Win. 7 and Outlook 2010. As I type, JAWS reads words perfectly as I configured. I can use the up and down arrow to read sentences. However, when I use control plus right or left arrow to read letters or words, it is silent and will not read. This is extremely annoying and impossible to make corrections as I proceed. The spell checker works okay. What could be causing the problem and how can I fix it to read normally like it always did. Thank you for all help. Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS 12 is not reading correctly
I am sorry but I need to write a post script to this message to better explain the problem in other ways. This exact same problem exists in Word 2010 as well. It is not only in writing e-mail messages, but also when reading them which I have received, the control plus right and left arrow do not work. Reading Headers, fields, everything works perfectly, however. Hope this help you better to help me. Thank you very much. Go to the settings by pressing insert V. There should be an option for it to either be silent or speak when you go by letter or word like that. Hi Trish Thanks for the response. I remember your issue with someone else's authorization key, but no one else has used this computer since I replaced the hard drive. I just updated my SMA as of Monday, so come Jan 1, I am going into the 40 min mode. Then I get a pop up and another ILM number is in the edit field, so by now, I am an expert at this. After burning through a few authorization keys, I finally determined that immediately after I boot the Windows 7 system, the about dialogs show a locking code for both products but neither will start authorized and have to be run in demo mode. But about 5 minutes later, the about dialogs show a different locking code for both JAWS and OpenBook 9. Then I can start either product and authorize it and it can be run or restarted authorized until I re-boot. FS support tells me that I just have to live with this situation. They say it's due to some hardware driver. There have been no hardware changes to this computer since the new hard drive was installed. Any guesses as to what could be done about this? Also I noticed that JAWS and OpenBook 9 have the same locking code on a Windows XP machine, but on my Windows 7 machine, they have different locking codes, both in the first 5 minutes after booting and later when they can run authorized. Is this something normal for Windows 7? Also after I had authorized JAWS 5 minutes or later after rebooting the computer, it appears that my JAWS authorization disappeared from the computer a few days later. The ILM viewer for JAWS said no JAWS authorization could be found. Other than the option to remove product activation, (which I did not do), is there any other situation that can completely remove the JAWS activation? Thanks. [JAWS-Users] Revisiting Jaws 15 bug with not reading unread messages count in Outlook
Hello list, An update to the bug I brought up shortly before the holiday regarding the new JFW 15 release and a problem where Jaws was no longer reading the unread messages count in Outlook folders. I was contacted by FS earlier this morning to let me know that they were indeed able to reproduce this particular issue and will be working on a fix in a future update. Standard caveats of no guaranty on a timeline or if itll be included in the next JFW update apply The only work around for now though not completely satisfactory is the control+y command. Anyway, as others also mentioned that they were also experiencing this quite annoying issue, I thought Id let folks know that FS did get back to me and that they said that theyd at least be working on it. [JAWS-Users] drag and drop
certainly we visually impaired or blind computer users don’t use a mouse, there are some programs out there that have a drag and drop interface. how do I do that since I don’t use a mouse? I can basically guess I’d cut the file needed to drop into the open program then paste it. am I correct? can somebody clear this up for me? email is golden ! [JAWS-Users] Amazon music pages
Hi, Used to be that on Amazon pages showing the songs on an album that the songs would be formatted into a table with the link to listen to a sample, the song, etc. as the colums. A while back this changed so that the same information is part of a list and not a table. Is there a way to get Jaws to read it as a table? I am running Windows 7, IE11, and JFW 15. Re: [JAWS-Users] drag and drop
Hi Kevin, I am not saying that there isn't some use for it, but in almost 14 years of using a computer I have not found drag and drop to be necessary. A simple cut or copy and paste works just fine.
