[JAWS-Users] Sending a New Message to a Specific Contact In Outlook 2007

2014-03-01 Thread Gerald Levy

I normally use Outlook Express as my email client, but I have begun fooling
around with Outlook 2007, which is already installed and configured on my XP
system in case I decide to use it on a new computer when I eventually buy one.
In Outlook Express, when I want to send a new message to a specific contact in
my Address Book, such as the JAWS Users list, I simply tab to the Address Book
from the In Box, scroll down to JAWS Users, and hit enter on it which opens a
new message withthe the address of the JAWS Users list automatically placed
into the To field. But in Outlook 2007, if I go to the Address Book and
scroll down to JAWS Users and hit Enter, nothing happens. The Address Book
does not seem to be linked to the In Box, as it is in Outlook Express. So at
the risk of asking a stupid question, how do you open a new message in Outlook
2007 and place the address of a specific contact from the Address Book into the
to field? Is there an easy way to do this, or must I first g
o to my Address Book, locate and copy the email address of the contact to whom
I want to send a new message, and then paste it into the to field of the
message? I'm sure there is an easier way , but Outlook 2007 is new to me. I'm
using JAWS 9. Thanks for any help.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Sending a New Message to a Specific Contact In Outlook 2007

2014-03-01 Thread david
hello there;
well, if your wanting to send email from your contacts list, or,
addressbook,
within outlook 2007,

try,
ctrl+shift+b=book,
now, you can either do a search for the client name, or, simply tab to the
list and then arrow down to the name.
much easier to search,
so, first in the search edit type in recipient name,
now tab you should see the name/email,
now do a ctrl+n,
you will land into the subjectline, with email address already entered,

hope this helps.

From the way you wrote that first formula, I don't think it will work.
There should be a colon rather than a space, and you're telling it to add
these 3 cells rather than these 3 columns. Also, you're telling, with the
second formula to add, but there's nothing to add to the cell shown.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] outlook account

Hey Gang,

I'm running windows7, J14, outlook 2010.

How do I get to the account settings to add an email address of mine? I have
3 emails, and when I send out an email I need to choose from one of them.

These ribbens are confusing me, lol.

Thanks for any help you can give me on window7.

Patti

they get used a lot although not so much on here but elsewhere for sure.

Personally I like the direct download links and it's not like I can't find

Re: [JAWS-Users] 2007 Microsoft Excel Questions about formula

2014-03-01 Thread Brian Lee
Hello Scott,

Use the formula =sum(h2,k2,l2)
There should be no spacing in the formula. You had a space after h2. A
comma follows h2 and k2 but not l2. No plus signs are used in that formula.
You could also just type =h2+k2+l2 again without using the word sum and with
no spacing and no parentheses or commas just a plus sign between h2 and k2
and another one between k2 and l2.

I am not sure what you mean with the second part of your question. You can
copy the content of a cell with CTRL+C and paste it in another empty cell.
I don't think that is what you are meaning though.

Take care.

The first way is,
Ctrl+shift+b=book,
This will land you on an search edit field, So you could type in a contact's
name to search, Or, you could tab once to get into the list of contacts, Now
use your arrow keys, If you would want to send a message to a particular
contact while you're inside the contacts, Just arrow to the contacts
name/email, Now press ctrl+n=new message, Note, the person's information, is
already placed into the to field, thus, you land on the subject, If you tab,
you're placed into the body of the message.
The second way to access you're contacts,
Ctrl+#3 on the numbers row,
You land inside the contacts,
Tab once to the edit field, type a contacts name,
Shift+tab, the name should be their.

Adding contact;

The first way, is,

Press ctrl+shift+c
This will place you on a screen where you can add a contact, Use the tab key
to access the criteria, Once you've completed filling in the various fields,
Press escape key, and say yes to save.
The second way is,

Hi, I'm using jaws 15, with the latest updated patch and outlook 2010. I
have figured out how to most things I want to, but how do you sort messages
by subject, sender, and other things. I can't seem to find this in the
ribbons. It may be called by another name, so any help would be greatly
appreciated. Also, I take it that when you reply to someone, they aren't
automatically entered into your address book anymore as they were in outlook
express with xp. If this is indeed the case, how do you enter addresses and
names and make sure they're right in your address book. It seems to have
many of them in my suggested contacts but not in address book where email
contacts should go, and I don't know how to put them there. Also, how would
this work when copying addresses in by hand without replying to them such as
getting them off my old xp computer? Thanks a bunch for this help with
outlook and jaws and have a blessed day.

Re: [JAWS-Users] 2007 Microsoft Excel Questions about formula

2014-03-01 Thread Brian Lee
Hi Scott,

It sounds like the cells are formatted for dates. Select the cells and try
using CTRL with the tilde key. (the key above the tab key). This should
change the cell contents to numbers. Otherwise, after selecting the cells
use CTRL+F1 and pick the correct type of formatting for the cells.

Take care.

Take care.

Re: [JAWS-Users] 2007 Microsoft Excel Questions about formula

2014-03-01 Thread Brian Lee
Hi again Scott,

In my Excel 2013 the CTRL+Tilde key changes to the number format as
mentioned in my last message. I just checked a list of keystrokes for Excel
2007 and it showed CTRL+Shift+Tilde key. If the CTRL+Tilde doesn't work
after selecting a cell with the date format then try the CTRL+Shift+Tilde.

Take care.

Also, it is not CTRL+F1 as I mistakenly typed. It is CTRL+1 that brings up
the formatting dialog box.

Hello Scott,

One more comment is that using CTRL+Shift+1 changes the cell formatting to
the numbering format using two decimal places.

Take care.

Are you wanting to send a message from an existing account other than the
default account or are you wanting to add a new email account?

Hey Gang,

I'm running windows7, J14, outlook 2010.

How do I get to the account settings to add an email address of mine? I have
3 emails, and when I send out an email I need to choose from one of them.

These ribbens are confusing me, lol.

Thanks for any help you can give me on window7.

Patti
