Re: [JAWS-Users] Volume of the computer, help

2014-04-21 Thread david
Hello there;

do you know the keystroke which mutes the sound?
if my memory serves me right, the keystroke is;
function key+f6.

you may want to get someone to show you, or, you can;

Why don't you just create a shortcut to system sounds on your desktop, All
you would need to do is, use the sndvol.exe shortcut, Tab once press the
spacebar, and you would have sound again.

1, go to desktop,
Windows key+m,

2, press the keystroke,
Ctrl+spacebar,
To unselect all icons.

3, press the applications key, and down arrow and enter on, New sub menu.
Or, you could;
Press applications key, "w"=new, "s"=create-shortcut.

4, now arrow and enter on,
New shortcut.

5, Now type the following in the edit box, sndvol.exe

6, tab next, press enter.
You will see/hear;
Create Shortcut
What would you like to name the shortcut?
Type a name for this shortcut:
SndVol.exe
Tab finish press enter.

Now, if you would like a hot-key,

1, desktop,
Press the letter "s" until you hear,
sndvol.exe
2, now press alt+enter to bring up the properties,

3, tab until you hear;
Shortcut key none,
Here you could type "v"=volume or what ever letter you wish, Now press
enter.
Now when you use the icon sndvol.exe, or, use the hotkey, You just tab one
time, and press the spacebar, this will unmute the sound.

Hope this helps.

Ok, I didn't ask the right question earlier. Maybe I can get it right
this time. I accidently mute the volume on my HP laptop running
Windows 8. Is there a way to rescue myself when I do this? I'm not
sure how it happens, but it is getting to be a major pain. I'm
running Jaws 14 and this computer does have a touch pad on it.
Thanks for the time and info!

Hello David,

When after I give it a name, shift tab doesn't work as you described here.
I tab and come to "hide folders" if I enter on that, it turns to "browse
folders", then I have to use jaws cursor to read, cause I have 31 folders in
my Trish list, and "my documents" is not showing in the few that are. I can
press first letter and hop to it.
There is no other options to move to within this list, as for computer,
library, etc.
I also am doing this in "notepad" not in Word, if that makes any difference?
I can save to "my documents" through my email client Windows Mail no
problem.

Word docs do seem to automatically save in my documents, it's just the
notepad.txt that seem to not find their way to.

  if you want to save, assuming you say yes, The next question, what do you
  want to name the file/document, now, the next question is, where do you
want
  to save this document, now, if you shift+tab until you hear; treeview
  treview, documents close, or something like this, if you arrow down you
will
  see, folders contained in the documents folder, if you wich to save

  if you want my documents,
  just right arrow press enter.

[JAWS-Users] Podcast Service

2014-04-21 Thread Denny Huff

I am looking for an accessible podcast service that will work good with Jaws.
I am currently using Libsyn but it is very confusing and not very accessible.
It’s OK if there is a charge for the service so long as I can upload at least
400 meg a month.
Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Denny Huff

and there is nothing this key does at all. So, I will use shift F10 as long

If I remember right, for I only have installed one ziped programme, when you
open de zipped folder you should find in the list of files an excutable one,
that is xxx.exe. Once you select that file, press enter.

I think that is how it goes.

Re: [JAWS-Users] view down loads

2014-04-21 Thread Mike O'Brien
Hi

Pressing the enter key on an executable item in a zipped folder will run
that program. But that program may need other files from the zipped folder
which it probably won't be able to read. I would create and open a new
regular folder somewhere on the computer, and then open the zipped folder
press control+a to select all the files and press control+c to copy them to
the clipboard. Then go back to the open folder just created and press
control+v to paste the files into that folder. Then find the executable
program, usually named setup, and press enter to install. Then when the
install has successfully completed, delete the regular folder you created
for the install.

Okay, once you have created your document, First when you alt+f4 your
  asked
if you want to save, assuming you say yes, The next question, what do you
want to name the file/document, now, the next question is, where do you
  want
to save this document, now, if you shift+tab until you hear; treeview
treview, documents close, or something like this, if you arrow down you
  will
see, folders contained in the documents folder, if you wich to save
somewhere else, example, my computer, yu would keep arrowing down.
if you want my documents,
just right arrow press enter.

hopefully this get you pointed in the right direction.

Hi all,

I've used a web hosting service around 2 years ago and it was pretty
accessible once you understand how it works. You can create an account
and check the Control pannel even before paying. Also, it was one of the
cheapest services that i found then. It costed me a yearly fee of only
35 us dollars to get the following:

* 100 Gigs storing capasity.
* Unlimitted bandwedth
* 10 e-mail addresses.
* A free domaine name.
The website is:

If I remember right, for I only have installed one ziped programme, when you
open de zipped folder you should find in the list of files an excutable one,
that is xxx.exe. Once you select that file, press enter.
I think that is how it goes.

I found this article from Google search about ripping with the media player
you want to use, bbut it has no instructions on how to do it with jaws. if
you are fairly knowledgeable with jaws you might beable to figure it out.

I use Outlook for mail at home, but when I am on another computer use the
Yahoo mobile site to check my mail. This is not the ap, the mobile site. As
of a couple weeks ago I cannot open any messages on this site. There are
absolutely no links at all on the message anywhere so it can't be opened.
Has anyone else experienced this and how have you handled it? Tried the left
mouse button, nothing. Thanks. Judy & tallie

instructions on how to go about finding the reply and delete buttons and
forward buttons. If you need to same thing if you email me off list I will
help you with that as well.

It is not an ap for an iphone, it is a mobile website. Many companies have
