Thanks Flore! Have you tried any other browsers aside from the most popular
two: Explorer and Fire Fox?

In just one word: No. Installed Safari in Windows twice, and on neither
occasion did it work with the then current version of JAWS. (Apple's
main interest is not in Windows.)

hearing from folks if FS has overcome the limitations in Office 2013 or

Hello Gary:

Thank you for contacting Freedom Scientific Support.

JAWS 15 supports Office 2013. However Microsoft did not put the
accessibility in 2013 that customers are used to in earlier versions of
Office. We are working with Microsoft to solve these issues. But, when you
use Office 2013, you can expect some difficulty. We would recommend Office
2010 at the present time.

If you need to use Office 2013, it is as accessible as it can be under the
circumstances, but not like prior versions of Office.
We are working with Microsoft to resolve these issues.

If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Voice Alias Question

2014-04-29 Thread Judith Pauza

Dana, I don't know exactly if this is what you want, but you can set the Jaws
voice to be the same no matter what it reads. Or you can have it read
differently for some thing if you desire. I just use the Alt V keystroke when
in Jaws and tab through the selections. I have mine set to read everything in
the same voice and the only difference is it raises in pitch when it reads a
capital letter. Hope I understood your question and that this helps. Judy &
Tallie

trying to dig around in the menus for stuff.

[JAWS-Users] Voice Alias Question

2014-04-29 Thread Dana S. Leslie
I don't like all the different voices JAWS uses. So I configure all the
voice aliases to be the same. But there are a couple of different voices
JAWS uses for which I cannot figure out which alias to modify.

When I focus on an object such as a list view or tree view, JAWS reads
the value of that object as I prefer. But, when it names the type of
object it is (list view or tree view, for example), it uses a higher
pitched voice. What alias controls JAWS announcement of the object type,
specifically, as distinct from the value of that object?

Thanks.

Probably not. The only browsers that are known to work well with JAWS are

[JAWS-Users] Another Thunderbird question

2014-04-29 Thread Dana S. Leslie
How do I tell TB not to mark any incoming messages as junk, especially
not messages from mailing lists? At present, it's marking all my mailing
list messages as junk. I can ignore the marking, or change the marking,
of course, but I'd rather TB didn't make any such decisions for me.

Thanks.

Leonard,

The files that you have saved in your MY Documents folder, or any other
folder on your computer will remain untouched while installing Office 2013.
Only if you had some saved in the Microsoft Office folder in Program files,
then they would probably be deleted.

Rich, if you are running Firefox 22 or higher, simply launch it, click on
the site below, and install Plain Old Favorites 1.3. This will create an
item labeled Favorites on the Firefox menu bar that will sync with your
IEFavorites.

How do you search for an "ADD ON"?
I assume you just ;use a search engine like trying to find anything else?
