Re: [JAWS-Users] How to move to, Jaws15 from14

2014-09-19 Thread Mike O'Brien
Hi

By default, any new version of JAWS will be installed into its own folders
and will make no changes to earlier installed versions. The only way the
old version would be overwritten would be to install the new version to the
same folders as the old version. Unless you're tight on disk space, I
wouldn't uninstall JAWS 14 after installing JAWS15. I have seen situations
where an older version worked better
than a newer version. I always keep the latest 2 versions on my system.
But if you do uninstall JAWS 14 or any earlier version after installing JAWS
15, as was said, don't delete the shared components.

[JAWS-Users] Address Bar Highlighting Keystrokes For Firefox

2014-09-19 Thread Mike B.
Hi All,

A week or 2 ago I asked what keystroke will highlight the address bar in
Firefox if someone posted it, I missed it. The keystrokes below will
work, I tested them both running
Firefox 32, Jaws 15, Win7 Pro.

To highlight the address bar in Firefox the keystrokes are:

Control + L

Or,

After invoking either 1 of the keystrokes above the address bar will be
highlighted so, press, control + C, to copy the contents to the clipboard.

[JAWS-Users] Adding Headings in Word 2007 with JAWS 15

Hello,
How can I add standard text headings to Word files using Word 2007 and JAWS 15?

I tried to use alt-n-h
Then picked the first option empty heading and then pasted my heading text into
the edit box and then pressed enter and that did not
work.

Any help will be appreciated.
FYI: Once I figure this out with your help, I may want to add different heading

Eric,

Sorry for giving out wrong advice. I was not aware of that and did run
it on mine and all seems ok. Are you saying just don't do this with
the beta or version 16 altogether. If the later, that would mean I
need to manually make all those adjustments with each new version?
Hopefully you can clarify.

I have seen situations
where an older version worked better than a newer version. I always keep
the latest 2 versions on my system.
But if you do uninstall JAWS 14 or any earlier version after installing JAWS
15, as was said, don't delete the shared components.

is no need to uninstall 14 after the upgrade.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Adding Headings in Word 2007 with JAWS 15

2014-09-19 Thread Brian Lee
Hello Bill,

I think you are confusing headers and headings. The Alt N H key sequence is
for a header, which appears in the top margin of pages. A heading in Word
is a built-in style. A style contains a specific font, font size, font
color, character spacing and other specific attributes. You can insert the
heading 1 style by using Alt+CTRL+1. Insert heading 2 style by using
Alt+CTRL+2, and insert heading 3 style by using Alt+CTRL+3. You can check
what attributes are used by the heading by using JAWS key with f when focus
is on a line using that style. You can insert other styles by using
CTRL+Shift+s, which will present a list of styles. Once in the list of
styles you can use up or down arrow keys to pick a style and press enter on
it or you can for example press t, use down arrow key one time to get the
title style, and then press enter key.

Generally, when you use a keystroke to use a heading and type the heading
information, the enter key will return you to the normal style. If you want
the style to continue on subsequent lines then use Shift+Enter at the end of
lines instead of just the enter key. The style will continue on a
subsequent line if the text wraps to that line on its own and you don't use
the enter key. Also, you can select a line of text and then use the
keystroke for the heading level you want used and that style will apply to
your selected text.

Take care.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Adding Headings in Word 2007 with JAWS 15

Hello,
How can I add standard text headings to Word files using Word 2007 and JAWS
15?

I tried to use alt-n-h
Then picked the first option empty heading and then pasted my heading text
into the edit box and then pressed enter and that did not work.

Any help will be appreciated.
FYI: Once I figure this out with your help, I may want to add different
heading levels if that is possible. Example Heading Level 1, Heading Level 2
and ..

Thank you,
Bill

[JAWS-Users] New OCR feature

2014-09-19 Thread Alan Robbins
Well I just wanted to briefly comment on the new OCR feature for PDF
documents that were scanned as images. I received an attachment the
other day which was actually a fax someone had scanned and sent to me.
Well of course I went to open it and it said blank document. I quickly
did the insert spacebar key followed by o and then d for document.
Within 10-15 seconds JAWS started reading the entire 6 page document.

Nice job FS

I would also like to say JAWS 16 beta has crashed a few times in
Outlook 2010 which 15 did too. However, with 16 just sit tight for a
few seconds and JAWS restarts itself. Another great feature

Best,

Al

Well I did not see any posts from Eric on this. Have others used the
merge with 16 and had problems? Maybe I'm just lucky but so far so
good. What I'm wondering is if I should reinstall 16 beta and not do
the merge thing. Thoughts?

Eric,

Sorry for giving out wrong advice. I was not aware of that and did run
it on mine and all seems ok. Are you saying just don't do this with
the beta or version 16 altogether. If the later, that would mean I
need to manually make all those adjustments with each new version?
Hopefully you can clarify.

at this time. Please make the changes you like within JAWS 16.

Re: [JAWS-Users] JFW and Wells Fargo issues

2014-09-19 Thread Becky Buckner

Hi Sunshine.
I am one of those who cannot sign in to wells fargo using the home link I
have always used. However, using the alternative link you provided, I was
able to go directly to the log in page without difficulty. It appears that
the Home page is the problem. After I logged in, I entered on the home page
out of curiosity and low and behold, no links was the response for that
page. I'll be passing this along to FS and to Wells Fargo. Thanks again
for providing the link.

With iTunes and an iPhone, the status is shown if you tab and then just
sit

on that field when you find it. It only takes from a few to perhaps 20-30
seconds then and then you will hear the familiar iTunes sound indicating
completion.

Are there key combinations we can press so that Jaws would speak (30%)

Hi List:

The subject says a lot. Is there somewhere I can get a tutorial for a JAWS
