[JAWS-Users] reccording to computer from tapes

2014-12-22 Thread Teresa Arroyo
Helo,
Using Windows 8-64 lastest Jaws 16.
I would like to to digitalize my tapes, that is transfer thier content to my
computer.
I have got the windows sound recorder, but you can’t use it for long recording.
I know some one wrote stepts to stretch time, but isn’t there another
accessible recording software that would work?

My laptop has only one conection for headphones, and not for microphone. As fas
I I understand I would have to conect myy tape recorder to a microphone
conection. How would I do this? I beleive I would have to change the headphone
to microphone in control panel, but I don’t know how to do this.

Lastly, a lot of my tapes are recorded in a four-track tape recorder which has
broken down. I believe it is possible to record this tapes using an ordinary
tape recorder and making the proper edition to four tracks once the content in
in the computer. How can this be done?

Thank you in advance.

Best wishes for all,

Teresa Arroyo

[JAWS-Users] Reading contact list in Outlook 2013 and JAWS 15

2014-12-22 Thread DH

Hi,

I'm using JAWS 15 with Outlook 2013. I press Control + 3 to go to the
contacts view. JAWS won't automatically read the contact name when I press
the up and down arrow keys to move through them. I have to press insert +
Tab on every contact to hear which one I'm on.
The view is set to 'card view'.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
David

[JAWS-Users] search providers

2014-12-22 Thread anna vimini

Hi all,
I finally figured out when it says
bing enabled not available
it means that the search provider is enabled and the top result is not
available.

I think someone on the list told me that but I had forgot.
so when I was in the internet options under programs I clicked on manage
add-ons and went to search providers and selected the search provider
that I want and jaws told me what the not available was.
