I have just started to compile my contact list using Excel.
You can title each columb what you want like first name, last name, phone
number, address, email, notes, birthday, or what ever.

I am just wondering cause, window's contacts has several layers of info
pages for entrys on each person, and is saved on your computer.
Whenever I update an entry either via my email client, it's duplicated in
Window's contacts

Window's Contacts can also be synced to other devices outside of Window's.

Hi, sort of a program where you can type the name of a person, then type
there phone number, and keep it in a databass.

You shouldn't have to re-boot the computer to get Jaws to read correctly,
especially if you have just started the machine for the first time of the
day.
I am experiencing similar problems with Jaws 16, If I open a folder that
contains more than several hundred sub-folders, it does not report the list
view correctly.
I have a folder with 1875 sub-folders, and when I open it, Jaws will report
the name of a sub-folder, and report it's location in the list view as 1 of
403, when in fact it is 530 in the list.
Jaws will not report the list view from the top of the list.
Having said that, if I use "Insert + Escape" to refresh the screen, and have
Jaws read the current line, it will then report the number correctly.
Yes, I too would like an answer to this as well, an e-mail to FS tech
support is no doubt in order.

Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Program for saving Phone numbers?

I have just started to compile my contact list using Excel.
You can title each columb what you want like first name, last name, phone
number, address, email, notes, birthday, or what ever.

Are you using windows 7?
I am just wondering cause, window's contacts has several layers of info
pages for entrys on each person, and is saved on your computer.
Whenever I update an entry either via my email client, it's duplicated in
Window's contacts

Window's Contacts can also be synced to other devices outside of Window's.

Re: [JAWS-Users] one letter navigation

2015-01-28 Thread Mike B.
Hi Kevin,

Below are several notes I've saved for doing what you're wanting:
CTRL Panel and Windows 7

The control panel is usually the first place you go to for changing any
major setting on your computer. Unfortunately, the default view for the
control
Panel in Windows 7 is Category view and there is no option to permanently
switch back to a “classic view” as in other versions of Windows.
For this blog, we will explain how to configure the CTRL panel so you will
be able to navigate via letter navigation, instead of tabbing.

The first thing we need to do is make our way to the CTRL panel and we can
do this by activating the start menu and in the search type, "Control Panel"
without the quotes. Press enter on the control panel option.
Once you have the CTRL panel open, press CTRL E to place yourself in the
search field and then tab until you hear category button and press space
bar.

A context menu will appear and if you use your up and down arrows, you will
hear the different options available. For example, small icons, large icons
and category. Category should be checked by default, so let’s use our up
arrow key until we hear large icons and press enter.
Now, if you use letter navigation, you will be able to find items much
quicker than tabbing. Go ahead, test it out, how about you press the letter
"A"
until you hear action center link. This is more convenient than tabbing
isn't it?
If you would like to revert back to your previous method for navigation,
press CTRL E to place yourself back in the search field, find the category
button
and activate it and select category and press enter.

Hello there;

Try the following;

1, navigate to the control panel.

2, now shift+tab and enter on cadigory.

Here you can choose,
Small icons, and large icons, make your choice with the arrow keys,
Once you have choice of large or small icons, press enter.

Now you should be able to letter navigate.

I do not think it is possible to view the Control Panel as a list in
Windows 7. It is possible to view it as a grid of icons. At least in
this view, first letter navigation works.

Do the following:

1. Open the Control Panel.

2. Press Control + e, to get to the Search box.

3. Tab once to what is labeled the "Category" button.

4. Press Space on this button. It is actually a drop down list. Arrow
down to "Large icons", and press Enter.

Hope this is what you are looking for.

Re: [JAWS-Users] [Bulk] convert PDF to Excel 2010

2015-01-28 Thread Dave Carlson
Reed,

Not sure you'll find something like that. Problem is in getting tabular
information defined in the PDF document well enough to be broken into the
rows/columns in Excel.

You might do well to have the PDF file first saved as an MS-Word file. Then
in MS Word, munch the data so that it's either a single columns of items and
create a table, or make corrections in a table already generated.

Then, you can import that MS Word table directly into Excel.
