My guess is that the school has updated the version of Blackboard that is
being used. You should contact the school's disability services department
and let them know of the problems that you are having.

Also, have you tried using Firefox instead of IE?

Re: [JAWS-Users] Chrome

2015-01-31 Thread Greg Wocher

Hello,
It does somewhat. I have found that in some of the edit fields JAWS will
not read back what you typed. Also it is not very easy to work with
bookmarks from my experience. That may be due to my not knowing how to
work with Chrome efficiently though. If you pull up the Chrome menu with
the alt key if an item has a sub menu it will not be announced. On most
of the items if you hit the right arrow key it will take you into the
sub menu if there is one. Other than these few quirks and some others it
works fairly well.

[JAWS-Users] Get info work around in ITunes 12.1

2015-01-31 Thread Alan Robbins
For those of you that have updated to ITunes 12.1 and are
using JAWS 16, does the following workaround I saw on
another list still work?

In the initial release of iTunes 12, Apple has designed a
whole new Get Info Window which is for their Yosemite
operating system for macs. It is supposed to have a fancy
new look. Unfortunately, this new re-designed window is
very inconvenient to use and was unusable until John wrote
some code as a kind of work-around.

Luckily, Apple has decided not to get rid of the old classic
Get Info Window altogether, and we can still use it with
this hidden little secret. To load the old window instead of
the new one, do the following: If you are on a track whose
info you wish to edit, hit the Applications Key, arrow down
to Get Info. If you now press Enter as you did before, you
will load the new window, but if you hold down the Shift Key
while you press Enter, you will load the classic window we
all know and love. Problem solved!!

Best,

Al

Re: [JAWS-Users] Numbering in Word 2010

2015-01-31 Thread Kevin Hourigan

Hello Tom and Liuda ,
After step 6,
Press Alt N for insert.
Then h for Headings.
Choose the first option Blank Grid
Then press Alt J H for the Designer tab, then N U for numbering. Tabbing
may work better here.

Then arrow or tab around selecting your various options.

would not work. Hopefully some others on the list can chime in to figure out

Best,

Al

Best,

Al

Hello Liuda,
You may wish, or need to create a new template.
Create a New Template
1. Press alt then f for file, then n for new,
2. Tab down to Blank Document.
3. Press right arrow to My Documents and press enter.
4. arrow around to find blank document
6. tab down past okay button to create new template button
7. Here, anything you do to the document, (such as inserting page numbers,)
becomes part of the template.
8. press enter and then insert t to confirm it is a new template.

Do you need instructions for numbering pages?

I use Win 7, JAWS 16 and Word 2010.

I need to change the permanent template so that a number is put on every
page, at the bottom in the center. I would prefer, if I do not have a
number on the first page, if this is possible.

Does anybody know how I can make this permanent change on the template? I
tried everything imaginable, but nothing seems to work.

Thanks in advance for your help.

[JAWS-Users] Settings for WLM and GMail accounts

2015-01-31 Thread Rick Justice
Hi Tim,
I'm sorry, but I do not have any specific notes for your particular setup,
and I am not using WLM or Gmail, but from memory it goes something like
this:
In Windows Live Mail, you would make sure that your incoming mail server,
(pop3) is set to the one provided by GMail
and your outgoing server (smtp) would be set to the one provided by your ISP
(internet service provider).
Example:
incoming server: (pop3): pop.mail.gmail.com
Outgoing server (smtp): smtp.mail.twc.com
When you are on the GMail website, the instructions they give may tell you
to set your incoming and outgoing servers to their servers, but this does
not work in all situations.
Also, which configuration you use may depend on your ISP, A TT is the
pickiest on e-mail settings etc.
From what you have described, it sounds like a simple settings change.
I couldn't be more specific without actually looking at your exact settings,
perhaps someone else on the list
has more updated information than me.

HTH,
Rick Justice

I would like to have my own posts to this list show up in my inbox along
with the emails sent by others. I do not recall how to change that. Can
the moderator describe the steps on how to do that? I assume there is a
way.

Sincerely,
Tim Ford

Hi Leonard and Loren,
Your messages are making it to the listjust fine,
it may be that the person with the answer hasn't read your message yet.
It is not uncommon for a message to go un-answered from time to time, and
someone may be looking for an answer
if they don't have it.

[JAWS-Users] Numbering in Word 2010

2015-01-31 Thread Liuda Balcius
I use Win 7, JAWS 16 and Word 2010.

I need to change the permanent template so that a number is put on every
page, at the bottom in the center. I would prefer, if I do not have a
number on the first page, if this is possible.

Does anybody know how I can make this permanent change on the template? I
tried everything imaginable, but nothing seems to work.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws 16 can not work with ITunes 12.1

2015-01-31 Thread Alan Robbins
It seems to me in the past if you go to restore a device or restore a encrypted
backup, iTunes prompts you to update to the most current version to do so. It
has been sometime since I've done that but that is my recollection.

 Best,
Alan
