[JAWS-Users] Copying and Pasting from a Webpage

2015-04-12 Thread abdulaziz dapilin
Hello list members,
I have this concern regarding the selection, copying and pasting of
contents from webpages. Every time I select web elements like list,
tables etc in a webpage, list and table indicators were also selected,
and when I paste it in other locations like word and notepad, these
indicators were also there.
Another thing, whenever I copy paste tables from a website, it
appeared that I am not doing it right. it is very frustrating to find
out that the table that I copied, when I pasted it in a word document,
turned not as a table but a plain text instead.
Is there a way to select, copy and paste web content in an HTML format
with JAWS?
I really need a help and an enlightenment with regard the matter.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Steve,
On the Advanced tab, if you check the box to automatically paste URLs from
the clipboard,
then you can skip the pasting step on all videos.
I use this method every time, works great.

You can get the program free youtube to mp3 converter.

Once you install it, go to the advanced options and select the checkbox to
enable screen-reader mode.

When you find a video on youtube, just paste the address into your clipboard
and copy it to the paste button on the Youtube to mp3 converter program.

There are combo boxes you can use to select the format for storing the
videos and for certain formats a quality combobox to select the bit rate in
an mp3 file , for example.

I've downloaded hour long documentaries this way.

From what I've been told, if the, Screen Track Virtual

Cursor option is checked this will supposedly do what y'all
are wanting. Here's the steps:

Here you go:
1. Press the, Jaws key + 6, on the number row above the main
keyboard to open the Jaws Settings Center & then press,
Control, Shift, + D, to open Jaws Settings Center default
all applications.
2. Arrow down to, Web / HTML / PDFs, & press the right arrow
to open.
3. Arrow down to, Navigation, & press right arrow to open.
4. Arrow down to, Screen Tracks Virtual Cursor, & if this is
unchecked press the spacebar to check it. If it's already
checked press the, Escape button, a couple of times to close
the Settings Center.
5. If you had to check the, Screen Tracks Virtual Cursor,
option tab to apply, press the spacebar, tab to okay, press
the spacebar to save your change & close the Settings

Is there a way for a sighted person to see on screen what I

I cannot accomplish something with JAWS and require a pair

makes getting sighted assistance very difficult.

Hi Kevin,
This is the converter from DVDVideoSoft, and I know it gives you a headache.
I personally have not had any problems with it, but you do have to keep it
updated for best results.
Also, there will be videos from time to time that can not be downloaded from
YouTube,
and I am just guessing on this one, but they may be blocked.
Overall, the converter works fine, and you really can't complain, after all
it is all free!

Re: [JAWS-Users] Copying and Pasting from a Webpage

2015-04-12 Thread Mike B.
Hi Abdulaziz,

Try the following:
1. While in IE press, Insert / Jaws key + V, to open IE Quick Settings.
2. Navigate to, Virtual Cursor Options, & then to Select & Copy From Virtual
Cursor.
3. While on, Select & Copy From Virtual Cursor, press the spacebar to toggle
this to, Select & Copy Full Content Using On Screen Highlight.
4. Tab to okay & press enter to save your change & close quick settings.

Both the Select & Copy From Virtual Cursor & Select & Copy Full Content
Using On Screen Highlight options are explained below.

This option controls whether or not JAWS will use the Text Selection and
Copy Commands from the Web browser, e-mail software, or other owner of a
virtual document.
With the "From Virtual Cursor" setting, text is copied as plain text without
formatting, pictures, and HTML attributes.
With the "Full Content Using Onscreen Highlight" setting, the text and
elements you select are highlighted onscreen as you press selection keys
from the keyboard just as it would be in programs like Word Processors. The
content is then copied with all formatting.
The default setting is Full Content Using Onscreen Highlight.
HTH
Take care.

Hi Broe’s, do any of you guys know if the latest version of SuperAntiSpyware
is accessible with jaws? I’ve wrote to them several times, and those idiots
give me the run around, by telling me that it’s accessible with jaws
because it’s compatible with windows 8, and I told them, that it wasn’t,
because back in the year of 2008, when they had version 4.5 or earlier, I
purchased a lifetime license, and they just had an update recently

Re: [JAWS-Users] SuperAntiSpyware!

2015-04-12 Thread Mike B.
Hi Bob,

You are 100% correct. That's why I quit using SAS quite awile ago &
switched to Malware Bytes but, it seems like MWB is following the same path
as SAS. Although I still use MWB's accessible version, 1.75, on a couple of
our computers I have been using Hitman Pro along with ADWCleaner on our
other computers & really like the way these 2 programs work.
Take care.

Hi Mike, thanks for the information, I just tried it out for the hell of it,
and it sucks bigtime! I’m no longer writing to them, I would express my
feelings twards the company, but it would be inappropriate for the jaws
users list! so in that case, I’ll refrain from doing so, because I’ll either
get a warning, or I’d be put on mod status, or be kicked off the list! so
that’s all I half to say, frustration never gets us anywhere, am I right? Or
am I wrong!

Re: [JAWS-Users] Copying and Pasting from a Webpage

2015-04-12 Thread abdulaziz dapilin
Thanks Mike. But I forgot to tell you that, because I have loading
speed issues with IE, most of the time I use Firefox. There were no
problems with selecting and copying contents when I am using IE. I am
just trying to find ways how to solve it with Firefox. However, I
tried the steps described with the latest version of that browser, and
because the "select and copy full content using onscreen highlight"
option was already selected by default, toggling it was for no help.
-with Firefox, it did not work.
Is there a way to select and copy full web contents from Firefox? Is
it possible to do that with JAWS?

[JAWS-Users] Questions about JAWS and Windows Media Center

2015-04-12 Thread Michael Boyd

You know, I have never bothered to try Windows Media Center to play DVD’s on my
Windows 7 computer, and thought I might give it a try. Is it accessible with
JAWS? And, are there any tips that might make it easier to use? Any input would
be appreciated. Thanks.
