I don't know of any that will do it automatically other than drop

that would be with 2 separate systems. You could try Karons'

another backup program.

I presume you're talking about the latest incarnations from Nuance. The very

I have downloaed and installed a voice but don't really understand how to use

me a quick rundown of how I can use these voices and flick between them if that

You seem to have to set up a new voice profile and then make this your default?

Many thanks in anticipation for any help.

In redesigning 8.1, Microsoft did something for which it hasn't been exactly

Hi.
It could be that you accidentally closed the program by the way you exited
the speakDropbox menu. You can re launch it from the short cut in your start
menu (it's just called speakDropbox).

Other than that, my recommendation is that you do away with the notification
chevron thing entirely, do that by setting it to always show all
notifications in the notification area. You can find how to get to the
notification area customizations that you need for that in another message
that someone posted to this thread.

To summarize, one of two things happened.

1. You closed speakDropbox
2. your computer decided to hide the speakDropbox icon.

Btw, if you need to verify if it just got closed, try to get it to speak the
dropbox status using the speak dropbox status hotkey (alt+windows+d by
default). Alt+windows+m will open the speakDropbox menu (if it can find it),
but if that icon is hidden from you, speakDropbox won't be able to find its
own icon either.

I probably should mention all this in the troubleshooting section of the
documentation, I actually don't know why I didn't.

I'm curious; is that 32- or 64-bit. I saw that app bring JAWS to its knees
under XP, but my experience must have been highly unusual, and may have been
affected by the particular hardware I was using at the time.

Hello-

I have been using Microsoft Security Essentials with JAWS 14 and Windows 7.
Every time I bring up MSE within a few seconds JAWS stops working. I get a
message something like, JAWS application has stopped working. I open JAWS
and some times it gives me time to start a virus scan. Once the scan starts
JAWS stays open and running. Any thoughts?

I guess my info must be correct. I'm told the Ms site knows to download the
appropriate version, when you check in. My only try here at work netted me a
32-bit version. Wish they'd go ahead and release the new and improved Defender
that's supposed to ship with 10.

[JAWS-Users] jaws update

2015-04-28 Thread Marvin Hunkin
Hi.

Switching voices, when switching from say serena high quality vocaliser to
jaws eloquence, goes very fast like chip munks, or some times goes back to
the serena voice, very slow, the only way to fix this, is to go to the jaws
voices, create new voice, select eloquence, set the pitch, punctuation, then
save.

Freedom scientific says this is a bug, have let them know and they say they
will fix this in the next update, maybe next month.

Running windows 8.1 64 bit enterprise on a Toshiba satellite pro c-50-a
model.

Marvin.

I am just a very simple computer user. This is the worst upgrade Jaws have
ever come out with! And there Tech Support has become the most Grumpy that I
have ever known it to be.
They should repay us for the total downgrade for all of the trouble that it
sets us back. I loved Jaws and most of their tech support prior to this
upgrade. They now seem to have the most meanness of any support company I
have ever dealt with in all of my years of Blindness! About 15.

[JAWS-Users] fire fox and clickable

2015-04-28 Thread Kimsan
I'm continuing my switch over to firefox. I'm tired of being on ie, coming
across a capcha, then needing to launch firefox, so why not just use the
darn thing it its entirety. Here's my question.

How do I stop jaws from announcement of clickable every time I press down
arrow on a webpage?

The closest I found was on click in the html tab in the sound schemes, but
that doesn't sound right.
