Re: [JAWS-Users] notification bar requires responce

2015-07-16 Thread John Justice
Hi,
This kind of file is appearing more and more. Here's how to work with it.

1. Once the file is shown and the system settles, activate your Jaws Cursor
2. There are two contact points below the main information. They are usually
one line down.
3. Use your Jaws Cursor to find the Save button and press the left Mouse
button, directly above the 8 key on the keypad.

Note: The system doesn't give you an option FOR SAVING the file. Normally,
the Default LOCATION is the Downloads folder.

I use windows 7 with jaws sixteen and IE 10. So, I keep getting this
message, Notification bar requires response. Press alt N. What is this
trying to tell me? When I press alt N I don't seem to get any choices
except to close.

[JAWS-Users] Windows 10 Annual Update Fee -- Is it a Reality or Not?

2015-07-16 Thread Dave Carlson
Since the original thread got slammed by the moderators, I'll post this
again with a new subject.

Is Windows 10 going to be a truly free product, or will there be an annual

like FS where getting updates requires payment.

What's the current wisdom on this question?

Re: [JAWS-Users] Windows 10 Annual Update Fee -- Is it a Reality or Not?

2015-07-16 Thread Robin Frost

Hi,
Googling yielded many results that informed me that if one for instance
reserves a free upgrade to windows 10 all updates remain free for the life
of the device it's on and the same holds true for all updates were one to
purchase windows 10 when it'd be for sale. I.E. once one owns a copy all
updates would be for free. So it is my understanding that there would be no
subscription model put in place for windows 10. Either people get the
upgrade for free or they'd choose to purchase it outright after the offer
for the free version expires after a year but there is no cost for updates.
One article stating this can be found here:

http://www.pcgamer.com/microsoft-windows-10-will-not-be-sold-as-a-subscription/

Re: [JAWS-Users] Leasey with JAWS

2015-07-16 Thread Flor Lynch

All of that information is available at either:

www.hartgen.org or

www.leaseycentral.com

(the latter site is where you download Leasey from. I think it's about $75
at the moment (as it's on sale) for the advanced version. A bit more than
that for the full or basic version. It works with versions of JAWS from 14
up.

Hi,

Leasey is an 'acronym' compiled from: Learn Enable Advance - So Easy. It's
a program in two editions: The Basic package, and the Advanced package.
The Basic edition is mainly for complete computer beginners. Leasey works
only with JAWS. The Leasey Basic package costs more, and does more in that
it speaks additional help dialogue prompts in a female voice . The
Advanced Package adds some additional functionalities to JAWS, and workd
from the keyboard. Thus, the Advanced Package is rather like a set of
scripts that do additional things - in Internet Explorer, Microsoft Word,
Facebook, Chicken Nugget, Winamp, Foobar2000, and some more programs.

Before you buy, there is an evaluation version the potential user could
try. I tried the evaluation of the Advanced package. I decided that Leasey
is not for me at least for now. Other users may react more favourably. I
happen to believe that one thing the user should be able to do,
particularly if s/he is an advanced user, is disable Leasey while running
the version of JAWS it was installed in. From my reading of the
documentation, one cannot do that. If one does want to disable it, one has
to either uninstall it or use a version of JAWS that Leasey was not
installed into.

Just to reiterate: There are good things about Leasey. But it may not be
for all users. It will suit some very well.

it’s best used with the jaws cursor but you may need to flip flop to the

it’s best uninstalled with Revo
when uninstalling with revo you need to force uninstall. after I uninstalled
it , the start menu shortcut was left behind that can be deleted manually.
