[JAWS-Users] four new tutorials have been added to OneDrive
Happy Memorial day weekend Jaws Users list. I have added four new files to the Jaws Users group OneDrive downloads page. 1. Settings area in W-10 with Jaws 17, part 1, audio. 2. Settings area in W-10 with Jaws 17, part 2, audio. 3. Settings area in W-10 with Jaws 17, part 3, audio. 4. Upgrading to W-10 with Jaws, text. In each of the settings area with Jaws 17, audio recordings, I cover three of the main categories of the settings area in W-10 with Jaws 17. As you may know, Jaws 17 reports items in a different way than did Jaws 16. In the upgrading to W-10 with Jaws text file, I show you the steps that I used to upgrade my W-7 computer to Windows 10. Please enjoy. For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/
Re: [JAWS-Users] Some questions and concerns about updating to Windows 10.
Thanks to all of you who've offered comments and suggestions. A while back, someone from this list posted a step-by-step tutorial for up-grading to Win 10. I saved it and am I glad I did!!! I've decided that when I have the opportunity and courage to do so, I'll try it. Again, thanks. I still use MS2010, and it is working fine. Patti Another issue-I was told that I could no longer use my MS Office programs with Windows 10 and that I would have to buy a new Office suite. Would all of my Outlook archived folders be preserved and all of my rather large C Drive folders as well? Hi All, Last week I contacted MS accessibility to ask if they could assist me with up-dating to Windows10. I was told that many users, particularly screen reader users are having problems with Win 10. He said that he would help, but he didn't recommend it. He explained that most of the individuals having problems are those up-dating from Windows7 to Windows10. I asked him if I should first up-date to Windows8.1 and then go to Windows10. He recommended that I do so. I know that many of you on this list have up-dated to Win10, but have those of you who went from Win7 to Win10 had a particularly hard time? I'm looking on Amazon for the cd and I'd rather not buy it if I really don't need to. I'd appreciate all pros and cons so I can make a final decision about what I should do. Thanks in advance.
