Re: [JAWS-Users] Go To Meeting

2016-11-07 Thread Farfar
Go To Meeting is like many other desktop-sharing applications. They do not
work well for us as a receiver of the feed, since it is a graphical
representation of the other desktop. JAWS does not play well with a pure
graphic representation.

Powerpoint is fine, once you get used to using JAWS with it. Go to the FS
web site and download any training material on using Powerpoint with JAWS so
you won't be frustrated.

MS-Project is pretty hopeless, except for entering your project. Actually
viewing the completed diagram is painful. But I was able to use it in a
college course several years ago, as well as in my job at HP.

I have not found Go To Meeting to be accessible with JAWS 16 or 17 running
on a Windows 7 computer. However, it has been at least 6-8 months since I
last attempted to access it.

On your root C drive, you should find two "Program files" folders. The

Hi, I am sending these instructions that I received from someone on this

There is a way to turn off protected view for Word documents.
1. From within Microsoft Word, Press Alt F followed by the letter T for
Options and press Enter.
2. Press T to highlight Trust Center.
3. Press Tab until you get to Trust Center Settings and press Enter.
4. Use up and down arrow keys to highlight Protected View.
5. You can tab to four checkboxes, and you can uncheck the ones that you
feel are safe to uncheck.
Perhaps the last one regarding data execution should remain checked.

Again, I'm hampered by not knowing the win10 equivalents of my Win7 system,
but try this. Use "file associations" to identify which player is associated
with the file extension your music tracks end with. I'd do this on Win7 by
pressing the Windows key to open the search field, then start typing "file
assoc..." By the time I've typed that much, "file associations" appears.
Then I press enter, then tab until I reach a list of file extensions. In
Win7, I can move quickly through this incredibly long list with first-letter
navigation. Hint: make sure you type the period before the letters of the
extension.

I hope this gets you somewhere.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Lost Media Player

Morning to all.

I cannot find Windows Media Player in my programs folder of Control Panel.
However, using Windos 10, I can press the windows key, type in media player,
press enter, and it comes up. Can anyone explain this curiosity? I am having
some issues with it and am trying to find a repair tool for it. Many thanks.

Jim, I'm using Windows 7, but the same explanation may apply to Windows 10. On
your root C drive, you should find two "Program files" folders. The second
should be labeled "program files (x86)." That's where I find WMP on my system.

Re: [JAWS-Users] regarding placemarkers with jaws

2016-11-07 Thread Adrian Spratt
Continue tabbing through the dialog. One tab will recite the highlighted text,
the next will give you the option of anchoring to that text. Press spacebar to
accept. Then tab to Okay and once again press the spacebar.

As for when to use this option, I can't think of an instance when I haven't. In
theory, I suppose you could select a place on a webpage where the text changes,
depending on context. However, I've never set a placemarker at such a location.
I find setting a placemarker on a link is the most reliable procedure, and link
text doesn't change.

Hello,
As you might know that we have the option of adding permanent placemarkers on
our webpage. For this, we first focus our kerser on the desired location and
then explore the permanent placemarkers dialog box. There we click on add
button. Doing so, we enter the name of the placemarker to be called and
pressing tab here, gives the option anchor to text checkbox. So would like to
know that:
1. how do we anchor the text of our placemarkers?
2. when to be used this option?
Your kind reply would be obliged.
Thanks,
mukesh
