A much better (and perhaps a stable) way: press Windows+R, type "msinfo32"
(without quotes), then press ENTER. Navigate through the list that appears
which will tell you everything you need to know about your computer and your

Hi Kevin,

Yes it is possible. Try the following:
1. Hold down the Windows Key, & press the, Pause key. This is a shortcut
keystroke for opening System properties.
2. Press, Insert / Jaws key, Alt key, + W, to virtualize the window.
3. Press, Control + A, to copy everything to the clipboard.
4. Open Notepad, & press, Control + V, to paste the info.
You might have to do a certain amount of editing, but all the information
will be there.
Take care.

[JAWS-Users] JAWS Not Starting At The Windows Log-in Screen, A Possible Fix

2017-01-15 Thread Mike B.
Hi All,

Note: The steps below were performed running Windows 7 & all JAWS versions.
For those of you that have Jaws set to start at the Windows log-in screen,
but it doesn't, this might work for you. I looked in, msconfig, & found
that JAWS Freedom Scientific wasn't at the top of the list on the Start-up
Page / Tab, so this is what I did.
1. Press, Windows key + R, to open the run dialog.
2. Type, *msconfig*, without the stars, & press enter.
3. Press, control + tab, until you get to the, Start-up Page / Tab.
4. I arrowed down the list, & unchecked any items above, JAWS Freedom
Scientific, on the Start-up Page / Tab.
Note: Only uncheck the items / programs above JAWS Freedom Scientific, &
nothing else. Pay close attention to what you uncheck because you are going
to recheck these items / programs shortly.
5. Tab to the, Okay, button, press the spacebar, & tab 1 time to, Restart, &
press enter to restart your computer.
6. Once your computer is booted up repeat steps 1 thru 3, & you will notice
that JAWS Freedom Scientific is now at the top of the list.
7. Now, arrow down the list of items / programs on the Start-up Page / Tab,
check the items / programs that you unchecked previously, & repeat step #5.
Now Jaws should start on the Windows log-in screen when your computer
starts. I did the above steps on 4 different computers, both desktop &
lattop, 'm not going to say it works everytime, but it sure works most of
the time, which I can say is a damn site better than before I followed the
above steps.
Take care.

David,

I believe your method succeeds in closing the Office clipboard on my
computer. I'm not aware of getting confirmation, but I notice a change in
behavior.

Unfortunately, the problem persists, suggesting the cause lies somewhere
else. I'm leaning toward resigning myself to my workaround of tabbing
between the subject line and message field.

I admire how you stick with a problem, even if it's someone else's. but when
I've reached a limit, I don't want you taking yet more time. The same goes

Hello Adrian;
Well, you may want to try this approach.

Note, when I had the office clipboard enabled in jaws 18, it also was
showing when I run jaws 17.
So try this,

1, first go into the outlook menu, when new message is opened,

2, tab and enter on, office clipboard...
And tab to options,

3, now check the box which reads,
Show Office Clipboard When Ctrl+C Pressed Now, navigate yourself out of the
options, now, back into the message, Press, ctrl+c twice, Note, holding down
the ctrl key, Now go back into the new message menu, and press enter on,
Office clipboard
This should disable the clipboard.
It did work for me.
The way you can know that the office clipboard is disabled is, Create new
message, Now rout jaws to pc, you should not see any mention of the office
clipboard.
Hope this helps.

Mike,

Yes, I unloaded and reloaded JAWS each time, and yes, I've deleted the

Right now, I'm finding that shift-tabbing from the message field to the
subject line and tabbing back again stops JAWS from verbalizing the

In case you need to troubleshoot Outlook, it is a good idea to load Outlook
without loading any 3rd party Outlook add-ins. This article explains just
how to do it.

Among other culprits, Outlook add-ins are the usual suspect when Outlook
runs slow or triggers unexpected errors. To determine if the installed
add-ins are causing you problems, the easiest thing to do is to start
Outlook with no add-ins.

Outlook command line switch for add-ins

In order to load Outlook without add-ins, you have to exit Outlook and type
the following command in a RUN window or in a Windows command prompt:

Outlook /safe:3

Please note that, while the above command will cause Outlook to load with no
add-ins, the add-ins are still going to be displayed in the Add-in Manager
window.

without loading any 3rd party Outlook add-ins. This article explains just
how
to do it.

Among other culprits, Outlook add-ins are the usual suspect when Outlook
runs slow or triggers unexpected errors. To determine if the installed
add-ins
are causing you problems, the easiest thing to do is to start Outlook with
no add-ins.

Outlook command line switch for add-ins

In order to load Outlook without add-ins, you have to exit Outlook and type
the following command in a RUN window or in a Windows command prompt:

Outlook /safe:3

Please note that, while the above command will cause Outlook to load with no
add-ins, the add-ins are still going to be displayed in the Add-in Manager
window.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Clipboard text keeps interfering with JAWS

2017-01-15 Thread David Whitehead
Hello Adrian;
Well, you may want to try this approach.

Note, when I had the office clipboard enabled in jaws 18, it also was
showing when I run jaws 17.
So try this,

1, first go into the outlook menu, when new message is opened,

2, tab and enter on, office clipboard...
And tab to options,

3, now check the box which reads,
Show Office Clipboard When Ctrl+C Pressed
Now, navigate yourself out of the options, now, back into the message,
Press, ctrl+c twice,
Note, holding down the ctrl key,
Now go back into the new message menu, and press enter on,
Office clipboard
This should disable the clipboard.
It did work for me.
The way you can know that the office clipboard is disabled is,
Create new message,
Now rout jaws to pc, you should not see any mention of the office clipboard.
Hope this helps.

Mike,

Yes, I unloaded and reloaded JAWS each time, and yes, I've deleted the
clipboard numerous times.

Right now, I'm finding that shift-tabbing from the message field to the
subject line and tabbing back again stops JAWS from verbalizing the
clipboard. It's a relatively fast workaround. But I still hope there's an
actual solution.

At the risk of trying everyone's patience, here's the next installment. This
is the problem where JAWS verbalizes a clipboard, possibly the Office
clipboard, when I open an Outlook 2010 message or start replying to a
message. It all started after I experimented with the Office clipboard
settings.

As far as I can tell, disabling the Office clipboard doesn't solve the
problem I'm having, which is that JAWS will verbalize clipboard contents
when I open a new message. I could be wrong, but although I can't confirm
when the clipboard is disabled, I've followed the steps to disable it.

After a long talk with Mike B, I established one new fact and tried a new
approach. The new fact is that Outlook works fine with JAWS 17. This surely
confirms that the problem I'm having is with JAWS 18.

Mike suggested I try removing certain files from my JAWS 18 ENU folder and
replacing them with the same files from my JAWS 17 ENU folder. Other than an
Outlook.jdf file, the only files that seemed relevant were Outlook.jcf and
Word.jcf. I went ahead, removed them from the J18 ENU folder and replaced
them with the J17 ENU equivalents. Unfortunately, the problem persists.
(I've now restored the original two JCF files to my J18 ENU folder.

Note that before doing all that, I copied both folders and clearly labeled
them. I was super careful not to confuse the files. There were other steps
in-between, but they didn't establish anything.

So, can anyone suggest anything based on this new information? Could another
ENU file possibly be involved?

I haven't upgraded to the current JAWS 18 release. Might doing so solve the
problem? I've already run repairs on both JAWS 18 and Office 2010.

Ok, I played with this a little,
What I found was, you need to turn the office clipboard off, from word.

1, go into word,

Now press alt+h=home
Now, tab and enter on, office clipboard
You will see that the clip board has been disabled.
You can verify this by routing jaws to pc, you will not see the office
clipboard if it's disabled.
