Re: [JAWS-Users] sending stuff off list

2017-03-02 Thread Kimsan
What about the replying directly to sender option?
I know that was debated and discussed a long time ago, but it could be an
option.
And, since I mentioned that now, no, it doesn't work on all mailing lists,
as there are two lists I'm on where it doesn't work.
I'm proud of myself though as I caught myself and realized it's still going
to the main list when I was trying to blast someone off list smile.

[JAWS-Users] Mapping keyboard commands in jaws for specific displays

2017-03-02 Thread Aimee Harwood
Hello everyone,

I have a VarioUltra 40 and it does not have a lot of pre-mapped commands that
would allow me to utilize most everything directly from the display itself. I
think it is possible to map them myself. Does anyone have any experience doing
this? If I do this in JAWS, will it be the same for all displays or would it be
specific to the Vario?

Many thanks

[JAWS-Users] annoying jaws problem

2017-03-02 Thread Shane Hecker
I've seen this quite a bit with my laptop running Windows 10 pro 64 bit.
When I try looking at the desktop with the Jaws cursor, it will say
something like this:

checked unchecked read only pressed unavailable droppable grabbed dragable

What is this and why can't the Jaws cursor properly see the desktop? Oh
yeah and when you try to right click something in the system tray when
the Jaws cursor is acting up, it doesn't work. Only way I've found to
fix this is to completely restart the computer. Restarting Jaws has no
effect.

Mike,

I find that list box useful. There are some types of data I want to retain,
such as passwords. I go down the list item by item to make sure anything I
want to preserve won't be deleted. Unfortunately, at least on my system,
JAWS doesn’t verbalize whether an item is checked or not until I press the
spacebar. After that, the checked/unchecked status of that item will be
shown throughout that session. However, JAWS still fails to verbalize this
detail for the other items until I go through the same process item by item.

The reason it would be useful for JAWS to verbalize the status of each item
in the list is that CCleaner doesn't check everything by default. For
example, the default for passwords is unchecked. So, chances are when
CCleaner runs, it won't delete items you want to keep. But you never know.
I'd discourage anyone from running the clean function until they've gone
through that list and made sure only items they want removed are checked.

Hi.
A while back, someone on the jfw email list posted a way to make jaws announce
the state of check boxes in CCleaner.

I post the message below.

From: Dennis L
Hi, if you want jaws to read the status of the buttons in Tools, Options, &
Settings do the following.
1. Find an option you know the status of.
2. Press, Insert + 7, on the number row above the main keyboard.
It will say add configuration file. The name
should say Ccleaner64 press enter
Then it will say edit button.
Tab once arrow down to check box.
Tab to add class button press space bar. Then to ok.
NOTE THIS HAS ONLY BEEN TESTED WITH CCleaner!

Re: [JAWS-Users] C Cleaner Inquiry

2017-03-02 Thread Adrian Spratt
Mike,

I find that list box useful. There are some types of data I want to retain,
such as passwords. I go down the list item by item to make sure anything I want
to preserve won't be deleted. Unfortunately, at least on my system, JAWS
doesn’t verbalize whether an item is checked or not until I press the spacebar.
After that, the checked/unchecked status of that item will be shown throughout
that session. However, JAWS still fails to verbalize this detail for the other
items until I go through the same process item by item.

The reason it would be useful for JAWS to verbalize the status of each item in
the list is that CCleaner doesn't check everything by default. For example, the
default for passwords is unchecked. So, chances are when CCleaner runs, it
won't delete items you want to keep. But you never know. I'd discourage anyone
from running the clean function until they've gone through that list and made
sure only items they want removed are checked.

Hi Mike,

No, there isn't. The only thing that is different is that after analyzing you
know what you're going to delete when you press, Alt + R. Actually if you just
press, Alt + R, & run CCleaner you can shift + tab & see what was deleted.
Since this does happen I always run CCleaner twice so nothing shows in that
list box.
Take care.

Once you press, Alt + R, to start a scan, after it's finished if youpress,
Shift + Tab, 2 times you should be in a list of items that have been removed,

I recently just got into spotify, and I like it much better than pandora for
some reason.
I just visited the interface of Spotify and I didn't do much with it, except
locate the play list created last evening and played a track, so thus far
it's not much of a thorn on my side.
This weekend, I will toy around with it some more.
Maybe I'll find out how much the premium service is while investigating the
site lol.

I hope the moderators won't mind my posting this short item from Chris H, a
well-informed tech person, on another list. So far, it's the best answer
I've found to this list's current Spotify thread. The question he answers is
also shown. I don't know how Las.fm compares to Spotify.

Hi
no you can't, after playing with the latest stable release briefly I was far
from impressed, so much so i decided to re-visit Last.fm, glad I did and
sure don't regret subscribing either. Also cancelled my Spotify
subscription.

Re: [JAWS-Users] need a refresher course on how to set up message rules in outlook 2010.

2017-03-02 Thread David Whitehead
CreatingMessageRulesOutlook

I believe these steps will work in outlook 2010,2013,2016.

1, open outlook.

2, you first need to create the folder in which you want to filter the
messages too.
Ctrl+shift+e=create new folder,
So here in the edit field type the preferred folder name.
Now tab twice, you’re being asked where you want the folder, you most likely
want it on the first level with all the other outlook folders,
So, press the home key,
You should here,
Your name/email, and level zero, now tab enter ok button, the folder has
been created.

Now we need to setup the message/filter.

>From the inbox, find a message in which you wish to send to the newly
created folder,
Press the applications key, you can either press the up/down arrow until you
hear,
Rules sub-menu,
Now you can press enter,
Up arrow enters on, create new rule…
If you wish to use shortcut keys,
1, press applications key,
Press the letter’s s/u
Now let’s assume you’re creating a message filter for jaws-users-list,
Once you’ve chosen the way you get into the rule creation,
You will land on,
>From JAWS-Users-List
This box is unchecked, press the spacebar to check,
Now tab until you hear;
Sent to jaws-users-list
This box is unchecked, press the spacebar to check.
Now you need to tab until you hear;
Move the item to folder:
Note, this box is unchecked, so spacebar to check,
If it’s your first folder, you will automatically be placed into the list of
folders,
If not, you will need to tab and enter on,
Select Folder...
Now that you’re in a list of folders, press the letter j=jaws-users-list, or
whatever the list name is,
Now you need to tab and enter on ok.
Note, the rule isn’t quite finished yet,
Now tab to the advance options button, press enter.
Now you have four steps you need to apply,
The first step is,
Select conditions,
This screen can be excepted as is, so just tab to next and press enter.
The next screen is,
Select actions, again this screen is fine, so, just go to the next button
and press enter.
The third screen is,
Are there any exceptions,
Again, here the screen is fine, just tab to next press enter.
Finally, we arrive at the last screen,
Finish rule setup,
You will need to, tab and check the box that reads,
Run this rule now on messages already in "Jaws-Users"
Again, this will depend on the folder/name/filter,
Again, tab and, make sure that,
Turn on this rule is checked,
Now tab and press enter on finish, the rule will be applied to the messages
currently in the inbox, and from now on, all messages with the criteria you
chose,
Will be placed into the folder.

Hope this helps.

[JAWS-Users] Facebook Messenger and Google Chrome.

2017-03-02 Thread Judy Jones
Hello, Listers,

I am new to the list, and am asking a slightly different question from
earlier.

Where my real trouble with Facebook and Chrome is, is in trying to compose a
message in the messages section. I can find my recipient, and it appears to
be in the recipient edit field, but above the field, there is a message that
says No Recipients.

Any advice on any workarounds?

Other than that, I'm loving Chrome, and have only been using it for a few
hours. BTW, I am using the mobile site for Facebook, but have found the
same problem with Messenger on the regular Facebook site. Using Jaws 17
with Windows 10.

Thanks.

2017-03-02 Thread Franklin Robinson
Hi all, I've been experiencing some problems due to what I think may
be addware. Microsoft disability help removed some and my computer got
back up to speed.. for a day or two. It is often very slow, jumps out
of form fields at random, and when clearing out my inbox messages get
archived and left seemingly at random instead of the ones I select
being moved acuratly. I'm guessing it's addware and hoping for a JAWS
accessable solution, but it could be something else too, so if any of
you have had similar experiences I would really appreciate hearing
about it. Thanks in advance, Franklin
