Re: [JAWS-Users] list of buttons

2017-06-12 Thread Adrian Spratt
In JAWS, F3 repeats a search you first did with insert-control-f. What can be
confusing is that JAWS key+F3 does the same thing in MS Word. However, in IE
(and other browsers), this JAWS key+F3 combination produces the list of
controls that I described in my original post.

But after all that, there's a much simpler answer to the original query.
Mauricio correctly posts that JAWS key+control+b finds all the buttons on a
page. I thought this combo worked only in dialog boxes, but I just tested and
confirmed it on the google homepage.

Shouldn't that be Windows key+enter?

I see the control key in everyone's key combination, but when I depress that
key combination, I do not get any reaction, however, when I use the original
keystroke of Windows key+Enter, Narrator turns on for me. I also have to
press escape in order to turn Narrator off, when Windows key+Enter use to be
a toggle.

Does this have anything to do with Jaws?

Can anyone explain why it's different for me than everyone else?

I'm using Windows 10 Pro, Jaws 18.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Problem setting up Gmail account in Outlook Express

2017-06-12 Thread David Whitehead
Hello;
Well, 2 things come to mind,
First, you need to set the pop3 in the gmail settings,
Secondly, you may need to change the security, in order for your friend to
receive gmail into outlook express.
This goes for, windows live mail, outlook express,
The instructions are below.

Let's try this;

1, go to: https://www.google.com/settings/security/

2, I'm assuming you've already signed into the account,

3, go down to the bottom of the page, ctrl+end key,
Now work your way up you should see/hear;

Allow less secure apps: ON

Some apps and devices use less secure sign-in technology, which could leave
your account vulnerable. You can turn off access for these apps (which we
recommend)
or choose to use them despite the risks.
Check your privacy settings
Your security comes first in everything we do.

So, what you're looking for is;
Allow less secure apps: OFF,
Down arrow
You will see/hear a checkbox to turn the security level on,
And if you down arrow you may see a save button, or you just may hear;
updating your settings.
Just go back up arrow and see if you hear,
Allow less secure apps: ON
Hope this helps,
If you need help, let me know.

You will receive a message from google,
Something like this,

Access for less secure apps has been turned on

No, Scorpio. JAWS key+F6 brings up a list of headings. The keystroke I gave,
JAWS key+F3, does what I said it does. I tested it before posting.

The port numbers are correct. You need SSL checked in both instances. You
also need to go into the Gmail account settings on the web and enable pop.

Sounds like Outlook removed extra line breaks from your message. Why not

Hi,

I Had a similar problem a while ago which I reported to FreedomScientific.
Seems like it may have been a problem when a command prompt was open.
It went away for a while then ccame back.
I then swapped laptops and it doesn't happen on this one so it could be one
of those very strange issues which is extremely difficult for
Freedomscientific to sort out.
