My best guess is that you cannot create a custom label while using the touch
cursor. In fact, I just tried pressing JAWS Key+Control+Tab while using the

Good morning all! I am a brand new member to this list, and I have a
question regarding the use of the touch cursor.

On a web-site that I use, I am encountering buttons that do not have labels.
When I activate them using the touch cursor, they perform certain functions
consistently, such as activating the save file option. I am then presented
with the standard save as dialog box. My question is this. Can I assign a
label to this button? It is not found by either the JAWS or PC cursor.
When pressing Insert plus F2, I am not seeing the option to label a button.
Any help would be appreciated. Glad to be part of this list!

Here is the details. Note that you this only works with books that have
"Enhanced Typesetting".

Amazon Kindle App Support

JAWS now supports reading books in Amazon's Kindle for PC app version 1.19 and
later, eliminating the need for users to have to install a special Kindle for
PC with Accessibility Plugin. This enables users to access books purchased
through the Amazon Kindle store right on their Windows PC using both speech and
braille. Books can be navigated using all standard reading commands including
reading by character, word, line, paragraph, and continuously with Say All. As
JAWS reads, pages turn automatically so you can enjoy a book without
interruption.

JAWS can only access Kindle books that support Enhanced Typesetting. The
product details for the book on the Amazon web site indicates if Enhanced
Typesetting is enabled. This exposes the necessary information to screen
readers and provides access to the book content.

Tip: Pressing CTRL+HOME or CTRL+END while reading a Kindle book moves to the
top or bottom of the current page instead of the top or bottom of the document
as in other applications. To move to the beginning or end of the book, you can
use the Go to Location dialog box which is accessed using the Kindle command
CTRL+G.

Wayne, I don't know for certain if winrar will let you unzip with 7Zip, but you
can easily find out. If it works, you'll be in good shape.
Place focus on the file, then press the applications key. Arrow down. If 7Zip
comes up, press enter. You'll be given several options. I like the one that
says "Extract to [name of current folder]." It creates a new folder with a
similar name as the zip file but without the .Zip extension, and all the
unzipped files are contained in it.

[JAWS-Users] Partition Assistant

2017-06-21 Thread Gene Warner

Hi Mike!

As it turns out, the probable reason partition assistant didn't work was
because my laptop's BIOS isn't smart enough to bypass non bootable media
in devices in the boot order. I had the new hard drive hooked up to a
USB port, and of course it wasn't bootable because it was blank.
Unfortunately I couldn't simply unplug it so that the pre Windows part
of partition assistant could run because then it wouldn't find the
target drive. So I changed my boot order so that the internal hard drive
is the first device. So now it might actually work.

the Kindle book, mobi and other files, but it will also retain headings,

together is a God send. When I showed this to Dr Denise in one of our
sessions with a student we were almost in tears. As many of you know, the
Kindle deal has been such a painful topic for years now. This program is so
simple that it is absolutely wonderful. I can convert all of the books in my

Here is the details. Note that you this only works with books that have
"Enhanced Typesetting".

Amazon Kindle App Support

JAWS now supports reading books in Amazon's Kindle for PC app version 1.19
and later, eliminating the need for users to have to install a special
Kindle for PC with Accessibility Plugin. This enables users to access books
purchased through the Amazon Kindle store right on their Windows PC using
both speech and braille. Books can be navigated using all standard reading
commands including reading by character, word, line, paragraph, and
continuously with Say All. As JAWS reads, pages turn automatically so you
can enjoy a book without interruption.

JAWS can only access Kindle books that support Enhanced Typesetting. The
product details for the book on the Amazon web site indicates if Enhanced
Typesetting is enabled. This exposes the necessary information to screen
readers and provides access to the book content.

Tip: Pressing CTRL+HOME or CTRL+END while reading a Kindle book moves to the
top or bottom of the current page instead of the top or bottom of the
document as in other applications. To move to the beginning or end of the
book, you can use the Go to Location dialog box which is accessed using the
Kindle command CTRL+G.

Eric

Hi Judy,

Have you been able to do anything with this? If not, I did a little
research, and it seems that online, it is not accessible. But if you print
it to pdf, you can actually read the document. I don't think it is fillable,
at least it wasn't in Acrobat DC, but you could either print it and have
someone sighted fill it in, or there is a chance it is fillable using the
full version of Acrobat.

I think the creator of the documents, Scott, skipped a step or two, and that
is why it is not readable online.

If you have any questions, let me know, I'll try to help.

Good luck!

Thanks so much. I came to the same conclusions you did after playing around
with it. HR is willing to send it in a word doc, so that solved the
immediate problem. I just wanted to make sure I had not missed anything.

BTW, how were you able to find the creator of the doc, and how did you guess
a step was skipped in the doc creation, and where and how do you get the
full Acrobat version? Is it worth it to get the full version? Obviously
you know quite a bit more about Adobe than I, and I appreciate your help.

Thanks.

Judy

Good luck!

Hello again, everyone.

Below is a link to our town and on it is a link to the application for
Recruitment Coordinator. When clicking on the link to apply, the Adobe doc
comes up, but not editable, as far as I can see. One of the city employees
in HR says it is fillable online. I'm going to try other browsers to see if
they can pull up an editable adobe doc.

Right now, I have tried this with Internet Explorer, and am using Windows 10
creator edition.

Thanks for any ideas. Here is the link to the job, and on this page is the
link to the app itself.

Hi Fred,
When you are in the list of emails do a shift + Tab to get to the folders
list. Now arrow down until you hear the folder you want to delete. Then
press the application key, then arrow down to delete folder and press enter.
Now your folder should be gone.

Hi Fred,

While in your folder list highlight the folder, but do not tab into the
folder, only highlight it, now press, shift + delete. Rebooting the
computer would probably be a good idea afterwards.
Take care. Mike. Go Dodgers!

I am using W10, latest jaws and outlook 2010 and I would appreciate someone
refreshing my memory on deleteing a folder in outlook 2010. I have deleted
folders many times but either I have forgotten how or things have changed.

Thanks for any info

I will likely purchase Vipre soon, but it is good to know that someone else
is getting the results I am. At least, I do know that it is working and is
removing threats. At least, the rest of the interface reads well.

I haven't been able to have the scan announced , the only way I know it's
scanning is because I arrow up and down and jaws announces pause/resume scan
or cancel scan. one thing vipre has is a view details button which is a
check box.you know the scan is finished when you have no more pause/resume
scan or the cancel button. to get the details of the scan I tabbed and
usually it says nothing was cleaned. I'm running vipre anti-virus 2016
the full 2017 hasn't been released yet!

Can anyone tell the progress of a scan with JAWS 18 using Windows 7? To be
honest I have tried THE LATEST VERSIONS OF Window-
Eyes, JAWS, and NVDA. I simply can’t get this information. There appears to
be a pane that none of the screen readers can read. Maybe it’s blank.
