[JAWS-Users] task message
Laura, when you get this "2 out of 4 tasks are complete" It is your internet and the Outlook program. No matter if younger versions of outlook or the one you have now. It is just telling you it's progress, slight issue but working through it, down loading into your Outlook-e-mail program. If this doesn't complete? Then you will have to check your settings and the smarter fellers and gals on this list will have to help you. Which they will need to know are you Windows ten with the Anniversary or the creator using with the Outlook. They will need to know which Jaws you are using too. When I did this Jaws said "2 out of 4 tasks are complete". I noticed emails that I had opened and read but didn't delete a few hours earlier were not being shown in my inbox. Also, I was not able to send or receive any emails. I closed Outlook, waited a short bit, and tried to open Outlook again. This time everything was fine .. the emails that weren't being shown were now there and I was able to send and receive emails. Could somebody please explain what tasks are and why I would get this message? .. I'm using Windows 10, Jaws 18 & Outlook 2016. Any input is much appreciated. [JAWS-Users] memo for the group
I am G-mail and all good on this end in Portland, ME. Loud and clear. With my outlook, 2016 complete package, sometimes Jaws Users goes to the Junk folder. I use the application key, go to junk mail and another window comes up and thinking it is not junk, which the third window comes up and Jaws users is checked and I uncheck and recheck, and then the Jaws user again tabbing to it is unchecked and check uncheck and check and tab to ok and back into the inbox and this 98% of the time solves the problem. Note, it is not my mail but other members on the group. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of David Ferrin Sent: Thursday, July 20, 2017 6:55 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] memo for the group We have been hit in the past by email providers bouncing messages from this domain, but today ranks as the worst in our history. All of you that got this message, as I did you will find all you have to do is reply to it, the original copy you got and it will reply back like it did here. [JAWS-Users] Junk folder-Jaws-users Group, Might want to check
I keep forgetting to post. I have seen no one mention. So, Might not be a big issue. Yet, here, 2016 Microsoft Outlook Office Complete and E-mail, using Jaws 18 latest. Sometimes David F., Sir, your group mail goes to my Junk folder, sometimes one or two and sometimes several. So, What I do is use the application key on each high-lighted e-mail, go down to Junk mail, thinking it is called and enter, this puts a list up and I go to not junk. Enter there and it will give me the Third screen of Jaws user.. This is checked as a safe group to receive from. I uncheck and then check a couple of times, making sure when unchecking it twice, it is checked. Then tab once more and again check and uncheck and check and then Ok and they disappear to the in-box. Then Outlook will remember for a while and like after a week of smooth running, Today two more popped up. So if anyone is not receiving mail from your group, this might be the issue. However, probably the more reliable, though more time-consuming way, is to take advantage of the JAWS OCR feature by pressing JAWS key+spacebar, release, then d for document. Alt-tab to the window where OCR is being performed. JAWS will verbalize when the operation is complete. Since it can take a while, I usually do some other task and come back to it. When OCR completes, control+a will work. I first paste the results into an empty Notepad file. The reason is that the OCR results often appear as tables, which confuses MS Word no end. Notepad eliminates the tables but somehow preserves the text sequence. I then select and copy the entire Notepad file and paste that result into a Word document. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Mr. Ed Sent: Tuesday, March 07, 2017 11:17 AM To: JAWS-Users-List 2 Subject: [JAWS-Users] How to copy a PDF file? [JAWS-Users] Removing an old email address
I don't know if I can give you a objective answer. I am far from being a tech person. This I can tell youSir. I only up-geraded to 2016 from 2013 because, the person that built this new computer and then transferred all to my old dying 8 year old Windows 7 computer, did not take the license from within Outlook 2013 and calling Mircosoft, because I did not remember my password for that account with them in the purchase. Well, I just bought the new. I can tell you because of my Son's disability, that lives with ME here. I have to keep a lot of documents on him. Working with his counselor we do a lot of exchange PDF protected files back and forth. One in saving money instead of a office call and two a running record on his two mental disabilities. This took a little getting use too as a little different from Word 2013 and have to say better. As for the e-mail portion, it isn't that much different from 2013 except maybe a couple more secure items in it The only reason I bought it outright? I hate getting things on leash and someone can tell you, but if I remember right I was further ahead paying the price right out front. Instead of buying in Super Wal-mart or I would as I did go to the Microsoft store and buy there. Make sure you open an account with them and a secure e-mail and Password and put them in a safe place. Also save the computer-e-mail receipt as is from them in the same secure area. Because if you have a issue and lets say gosh forbid, as I the license lost, they will have lots of Questions. I found that by have the Receipt most of their questions will come from, there to give them and the other big thing is your password! At least in my experience. I have to tell you there is others, that love Thunderbird and one other before you decide. Only reason saying I don't push a product. I was using Outlook for the last, thinking 18 years. This article explains just how to do it. Among other culprits, Outlook add-ins are the usual suspect when Outlook runs slow or triggers unexpected errors. To determine if the installed add-ins are causing you problems, the easiest thing to do is to start Outlook with no add-ins. I had some of this issue: Using Windows ten Completely up-to-date, and Microsoft 2016-Outlook, complete office-With-Word and Email. Along with Jaws 18 December release. So the issues were popping up all over as you spoke off and Jaws stop talking. It was recommended to myself, via, Sighted person, Maybe the over lay of it to 2013 Outlook same was the issue. So called Microsoft Support and they seen what I was talking about. Totally uninstalled all Outlook programs and anything related and then a fresh install of 2016 Microsoft Outlook complete Office with Word and E-mail. Since I have not had any issues. I am going to hang on to the suggestion below in-case! Thanks, People who are having focusing problems with outlook, I had saved the notes below from D. Whitehead. It seem to work for me... ***loosing focus in Outlook Well, hear I'm running outlook 2016, and I was experiencing various issues, I then decided to turn off/disable ad-ins in outlook; This change provided me a better running outlook. disabling ad-ins does work. As I indicated, you may want to start outlook with the ad-ins disabled to see if this is the issue. To do this, Type in the following in the run dialog box. Outlook /safe:3 and press enter. When I begin to type, the first few letters are spoken by jaws even though I've always had this setting to echo speech off. The more frustrating thing is that focus will jump around and what I type is spread out all over the document. This is especially annoying when I'm working off a template text and have to go hunt for the stray letters. The thing is, if I type the first couple of letters and then erase them, everything works fine. I have to believe that in all my typing, I must have accidentally enabled some sort of odd setting since this has only been a recent issue and I don't experience it in a standard Word document. Only in Outlook messages. My version of Outlook is 2010 and my messages are set to HTML. I am using the most recent version of Jaws 18. Does anyone have an idea of what may be

[JAWS-Users] Jaws Adobe fix
Just for kicks I went to my Adobe and entered and followed all you said, Mike, the different steps and this: tab until you find a checkbox called enable protected mode at startup, and uncheck it. I did not find this in my General list. Geno For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/
[JAWS-Users] Web based programs
Kate, if you want to get some information working at a AAA organization Their call center as a call receiver. Give me a jingle with my e-mail here and maybe I can give you a few ideas and a professional person, Gouzie Associates , Inc. that work with Blind and Visually Impaired persons. I work for Northern New England, club 036 and have been a call receiver there for almost 11 years now. With all the up-grades that have been made working along just fine with just the key-board and natural strokes and some script writing. Now as of Yesterday, Friday, using Jaws 12 to this point no issues. A great one was Jaws 11 and all of it's up dates. There is one other blind person that works at the same call center and two visually impaired. Be glad to give you a helping hand with your AAA job if in the call center as a call receiver. [JAWS-Users] jaws 12
I might be a little out of place. As far from being a expert. Yet, those that might being having some issues that others have, Jaws has grown in size, thus the memory of Ram that is needed. Consider the number of programs that you have open and running and what they use and consider the size of the jaws.. It took a while to get AAA tech people to look at and finally seen what I was talking about and added the necessary Ram. As well what I did with my computer here at home. [JAWS-Users] Working in a call centre with JAWS
So this will stay on topic of Jaws In most cases and with the help of script writing the simple answer is yes. Where some people, run into trouble is getting the brain to multi task effectively. Unless you want a person knowing you are blind. One wears a head set with Jaws in one, ear, customer chatting away in the right ear, and you answering the questions or getting information, while, typing on the keyboard. I have worked and still work at AAA, Call Center where 2 other blind and 2 visually impaired work too. I've been there 10.5 years. As noted if the company is willing to work with you, some script writing you will be fine. Especially with the latest jaws. If you are working with a Braille display in combo you are pretty much Golden. [JAWS-Users] Install the latest security update forMessenger!
I just e-mailed your information to my friend who is blind along with his wife. Here is what he had to say. Hope it helps those that use this program. Roger, Poppa Geno, I have the new messenger and it's fine and accessible. Lulu doesn't like it much but apart from some new appearances, I can't tell much difference. We figured since it was a requirement, we might as well bite the bullet and upgrade. As said, no problems with accessibility. Should you decide to get it, you'll need Norman to help with the kaptia but the messenger itself is completely accessible.
