Hi Jaws users list, I had to go back to this email, yahoo would not let me
see my messages I sent into the Jaws users list. So I have no clue weather
you received the Control and ALT keys part two, or the Using iTunes 12 with
Jaws 18, text file. Could someone please let me know. Thank you.

guidelines just a bit and wish good health, prosperity and happiness for the
new year to come to all of the people who make this list a success.

Happy Christmas to all from the three of us who might take the credit for
this list, but the fact is if you folks out there didn't make our jobs easy
we wouldn't want to do them any longer.

So keep doing what it is you are doing and we will cruse in to 2017 in the

I am a bit concerned over the significant drop in list traffic over the past
several weeks. Granted Microsoft has blocked out this domain and earlier this
year road runner did the same thing. Also in the past com cast and others have
done the same.

It might be possible that the list has run its’ course. It is 11 years old this
week as a matter of fact which I find hard to believe myself.

Let’s see how things go for a while before any major decisions are made so
don’t anybody panic at this point. I am just expressing my concern about the
way things have dropped off so much. It had to happen sooner or later. The fact
is I have no idea how long the average email list stays in business, I suppose
that would be an interesting study.

Now to sit back and see what kind of response this message generates.

Control and up arrow moves you up the column - to the top most of the time.
Just repeat the move if you don't get to the top the first time you use the
key combination.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] More testing of Jaws 17

Good morning Jaws Users group.
Last night I was doing research and other things.
So, I started out using the latest Jaws 16, and then switched to using the
latest Jaws 17.
Let me know if any of you have noticed the following intermittent lockup of
Jaws 17.
This intermittent lockup of Jaws 17 has been doing this from the beginning
of the Jaws 17 release.
For example.
I had the following programs and windows opened.
Bookshare, F S Reader 2.0, WLM, personal folders, and on occasion my
external back up drive.
Using Jaws 16, latest release no issues.
Using Jaws 17, latest release, it froze up intermittently six times or more
in a little over an hour.
The freeze lasted for 10 to 15 seconds, this is very frustrating.
For example:
When going into the search edit box on Bookshare, Jaws 17 intermittently
freezes for 10 seconds or so, you can do nothing until it speaks.
When pressing Control+N, for a new message in WLM, same thing.
When pressing Control+R, to reply to a message, same thing.
When pressing the escape key in F S Reader 2.0, to go from my alphabetical
list of books back to the current book, same thing.
When pressing ALT+f4 to close a program, or pressing Control+W, to close a
window, same thing.
When pressing ALT+Tab to switch From one program to another, same thing.
When in the settings area, going from one screen to another, same thing.
Again, this is an intermittent Jaws lockup, very difficult to reproduce with
any regularity!
But never-the-less, this is a very frustrating issue with Jaws 17.
Again, this has been this way since the first release of Jaws 17.
This is why I went back to using the latest Jaws 16 on my w-10 computer.
Do any of you use Jaws 17 older version or the latest version, regularly on
your w-10 computer?
Have you encountered this Jaws 17 intermittent lockup, which last for 10 to
15 seconds?
If you have, please let me know, also, please let F S Support know about it.
Again, very hard to reproduce this problem when you wish to reproduce it.
But it continues to intermittently pop up again and again in Jaws 17.
I do not have this issue using Jaws 16, so, I know the issue is with Jaws
17.
Any feedback on this issue would be appreciated.
Love God! with your heart, mind, and soul, that you might be blessed
reaching His goal.
Love your Neighbor as you would yourself, God will truly reward you with
good health.
Love God, your neighbor, as you love yourself, you will then be spiritually
balanced with wealth.
Love His Word that proceeds from His lips, then reflect on the heavens where
God sits.

Well the latency problem I reported on here a while back continues with
Excel 2010 and the beta release of 17. I have thoroughly reported all issues
to FS. At present, it is too frustrating to continue to try to use the two
together. I have returned to latest release of JAWS 16 until next version of
the beta comes out. Hopefully that problem will be fixed.

I did not see any posts on here from others experiencing the same. To
briefly recap, I have Windows 7, 64 bit. When I tab out of excel into
another running application and then tab back into excel JAWS either crashes
and then restarts or something else is going on but I have probably at least
a 5 second delay before I can get JAWS to say anything.

Best,

Al

The scripts do not need to be compiled; just uncompress the file and copy

If you don't know where that folder is, just open Computer then press

computer username and press enter, Enter again on AppData, then on Roaming,
next on Freedom Scientific, then on Jaws, followed by Enter again on your
Jaws version, i.e. 16.0 and there you will find the folder Settings; inside
of it, you will find enu or English US if you are here in the USA. In

Did that... It said to contact fs... I did... Got tired of trouble
shooting to figure out why it was kicking me into 40 minute mode... I
just asked to reset the keys... Now I will attempt to activate it
 again...
Ok... I just activated it using the key lol... Everything works now...
How weird... And a waste of a key... Back to life now...

Subject: [Bulk] [JAWS-Users] 40 minute mode?

 This morning:
turned the laptop on, all was fine. I get to work, 40 minute mode
kicks in, so I restart my system, still 40 minute mode, I turn off
jaws and restart jaws, still 40 minute mode, I turn off jaws 16 and
turn on jaws 15, no 40 minute mode. What is going on here folks, and
why is jfw 16 being a hater? How do I resolve this. I can't call fs
tech, because they do not have an 800 number, and I can't call here
 at work. thank you

I don't know if there is a shortcut key to rename a worksheet, but what is
happening to you is the way it's always worked for me. When you choose
Rename and JAWS says Edit you are supposed to type the name you want for the
current sheet. As far as I know you can't left and right arrow. You just
type the new name and press Enter. I've never found a way to rename a sheet
without making it the current sheet first. I'd be interested if there is
more to this that I don't know.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Renaming a sheet in Excel 2013

Hello list members:

I use JAWS 16. How can I rename a sheet in Excel 2013? When I go to Format
and Rename on the Home tab of the ribbon, JAWS says Edit. At this point, I
should be able to left and right arrow through the current name of the
sheet, but JAWS doesn't say anything. Is there a shortcut key or other
method I can use to rename the sheet?

Thanks

Derek

Scot,

The command to initiate the JAWS cursor is to press the minus sign on the
num pad with the num lock turned off. That's it.

Stephanie, I went to the bank of America.com site and of course I can't log
in, but I will tell you what I found and hopefully it will give you some
direction. When you are on the site at the top of the page press l and it
will bring you to the first list. If you arrown down once it will say
personal. Press enter on this. Then it will bring up a new page, press h
for headings and you will come to one that say something like handle
banking online and if you arrow down once it will say bill pay. I hope
that helps you some. I agree it is tricky; but I think you can handle it.

Hi all,
Have any of you tried navigating the Bank of America website? It's a
nightmare! I do pretty well at navigating websites, but this one is next to
impossible-and they even have so-called tips for screen readers.
One example of what I'm trying to do is go to the Bill Pay tab which is
apparently on the homepage somewhere.
Any tips or tricks for navigating their webpages would be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks so much,
Stephanie
