I have thoroughly reported all issues to FS. At present, it is too frustrating to continue to try to use the two together. I have returned to latest release of JAWS 16 until next version of the beta comes out. Hopefully that problem will be fixed. I did not see any posts on here from others experiencing the same. To briefly recap, I have Windows 7, 64 bit. When I tab out of excel into another running application and then tab back into excel JAWS either crashes and then restarts or something else is going on but I have probably at least a 5 second delay before I can get JAWS to say anything. Re: [JAWS-Users] More testing of Jaws 17
I am also experiencing this problem . It has been an issue from the beginning. Jerrie -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of jim Sent: Thursday, February 04, 2016 10:49 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] More testing of Jaws 17 Good morning Jaws Users group. Last night I was doing research and other things. So, I started out using the latest Jaws 16, and then switched to using the latest Jaws 17. Let me know if any of you have noticed the following intermittent lockup of Jaws 17. This intermittent lockup of Jaws 17 has been doing this from the beginning of the Jaws 17 release. For example. I had the following programs and windows opened. Bookshare, F S Reader 2.0, WLM, personal folders, and on occasion my external back up drive. Using Jaws 16, latest release no issues. Using Jaws 17, latest release, it froze up intermittently six times or more in a little over an hour. The freeze lasted for 10 to 15 seconds, this is very frustrating. For example: When going into the search edit box on Bookshare, Jaws 17 intermittently freezes for 10 seconds or so, you can do nothing until it speaks. When pressing Control+N, for a new message in WLM, same thing. When pressing Control+R, to reply to a message, same thing. When pressing the escape key in F S Reader 2.0, to go from my alphabetical list of books back to the current book, same thing. When pressing ALT+f4 to close a program, or pressing Control+W, to close a window, same thing. When pressing ALT+Tab to switch From one program to another, same thing. When in the settings area, going from one screen to another, same thing. Again, this is an intermittent Jaws lockup, very difficult to reproduce with any regularity! But never-the-less, this is a very frustrating issue with Jaws 17. Again, this has been this way since the first release of Jaws 17. This is why I went back to using the latest Jaws 16 on my w-10 computer. Do any of you use Jaws 17 older version or the latest version, regularly on your w-10 computer? Have you encountered this Jaws 17 intermittent lockup, which last for 10 to 15 seconds? If you have, please let me know, also, please let F S Support know about it. Again, very hard to reproduce this problem when you wish to reproduce it. But it continues to intermittently pop up again and again in Jaws 17. I do not have this issue using Jaws 16, so, I know the issue is with Jaws 17. Any feedback on this issue would be appreciated. Scot, The command to initiate the JAWS cursor is to press the minus sign on the num pad with the num lock turned off. That's it. Re: [JAWS-Users] Navigating Bank of America's website
Stephanie if you use the key command Insert-F7 and bring up the links list view, press the letter b until you reach bill pay and enter. I use this web site often and if you need help email me off list. When you are on the site at the top of the page press l and it will bring you to the first list. If you arrown down once it will say "personal." Press enter on this. Then it will bring up a new page, press h for headings and you will come to one that say something like "handle banking online" and if you arrow down once it will say "bill pay." I hope that helps you some. I agree it is tricky; but I think you can handle it. It's a nightmare! I do pretty well at navigating websites, but this one is next to impossible-and they even have so-called tips for screen readers. One example of what I'm trying to do is go to the Bill Pay tab which is apparently on the homepage somewhere. Any tips or tricks for navigating their webpages would be greatly appreciated.
