Re: [JAWS-Users] Outlook 2016

2018-07-20 Thread Marten Post Uiterweer
Kurt,

You could also use ctrl-ins-1-0 to hear the names of the colomns. In
listviews this is a handy option of jaws that works in more programs.
But alt-1-6 is more handy in this case.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Best program for reading PDFs

2018-06-20 Thread Marten Post Uiterweer
Sharon,

You can read a pdf with Adobe reader or Acrobat reader.

But Jaws2018 can OCR / scan a pdf, so you donn't need a program.
When in explorer select de pdf. Press the application key and press j.
The option is: recognise with Jaws.
The ressult is not allways even good as with an real pdf program, but
you can scan the pdf. Also when the pdf is an image.

I thought that Word 2016 can also open pdf files.

And Jaws2018 can also use Edge, but it is not on by default.
Go to settingscenter by ressing ins-f2.
Go to default config with ctrl-shift-d.
TGype: edge and arrow down.
Here you can turn on Edge suport.
If you find it will cause problems, then you can turn it off the same
way.

regards, marten

Re: [JAWS-Users] making chrome like internet explorer

2018-04-30 Thread Marten Post Uiterweer
Dennis,

You don't have to use a plugin orso.

you can import your internet explorer favorites if you have not done so.
When in Chrome, press alt.
arrow down to the bookmark menu and enter.
Arrow down to the inport menu and enter
Choose Internet explorer and choose only favorites.
Now you favorites are imported.
Turn the bookmark bar on with ctrl-shift-b
Now you can switch between addressbar, bookmark bar and the webpage with
f6.
The bookbark bar shows a folder with the name: imported from Internet
explorer or something like that.
Open that folder with enter and you can use letters to navigate.
You can delete things on the bookmark bar also. Press the application
key and choose de;lete.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Good replacement media player for Windows 10!

2017-11-11 Thread Marten Post Uiterweer
Paul,

Pot player is an accessible one.
Functions are accessible with the keyboard and it will play different
type of files. It is a free player.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Cannot get to the desktop

2017-11-01 Thread Marten Post Uiterweer
Mrne,

Can it be that win-d or win-m is not working?
Or try: press ins-3 first then win-m.
Ins-3 will tell Jaws that the next key is for windows. Same as ins-b in
Window-Eyes.

You can also minimize programs bij pressing alt-space and choose
Minimize in that menu.

Hope this helps.
