I noticed a list user had asked about recovering a deleted folder
from outlook earlier, well, when I was going through my created
folders, in wlm, after i'd opened one such folder, and then attempted
to delete it, I no longer needed it, it wouldn't delete, as I have
done with other created folders, and is stuck on my task bar, and
keeps me from opening wlm now. can someone tell me how to remove it
from my task bar? I've gone to it, and tried to open it, and to simply
close it from the application key menu, with no luck

Re: [JAWS-Users] help, how do I move a folder from deleted back to inbox

2013-08-18 Thread Patricia Zoellers
I would like to comment on this subject.
There is a program called Recover and it allows you to recovery deleted
emails/folders and I believe it's on the this list's web site under programs

Now for another interesting possibility I did just now as way of a test.
Please note first, I did this using window's mail on a window's 7.

I created a folder to test how this would work and put some junk email in
it, then I deleted it.

Now as we know, this folder is not in the deleted of the email delete
folder, nor was it in my recycle bin.

So, I went to my advance tab page under tools/options of my window's mail
client, and tab to the maintenance ...entered on it.

Next, I tab to the store emails...entered again

This showed me where my emails are stored, I copied the long c:\ to
clipboard
I then invoked the run command and pasted it there and entered on it

When it opened a list of several items I first looked in the windows mail
folder, not much help there.
Next, I looked at the backup same deal, lastly I chose the folder folder,
this was pay dirt.

Inside that was all my folders in window's mail client. So, I went to the
test folder, then I did a send to command through Alt F, choosing send to,
choosing documents. This moved that folder to my documents.

I went o my documents and found the folder, I opened it, the emails were
there, now just entering on them, I was able to read the content of each
email, so I know now how to recover accidental deleted folders/emails, and
now they are saved in my docs. But here's the deal..
they are labeled in series of some numbers, so what I did was after opening
each one, I copied and pasted into an email in windows mail saved it as a
draft. Alternatively, open notepad and paste them there and save as well.

Whew, what a relief this was to figure this out and know you can find
deleted emails again!
I hope all that made sense, and most likely, there's a more simpler way.

[JAWS-Users] Jaws Repeating Twice on Web Pages

2013-08-16 Thread Patricia Zoellers
What can I do to stop Jaws 13 from repeating what the computer is doing when
I alt tab back to that window?

I'm downloading something, I already know I'm doing this, so I've in another
window, I alt tab to hear the progress, Jaws repeats the window and the
downlprocess to start the download, I usually hit the control key to silent
it, must be a setting or is this just normal behavior?

nothing. cause that hot key, will say how many unread and that's all I need
to know.
There are those other hot keys that let you go from unread to the next, but
I never got into practice using them, I know they use the control key, think
with period, greater sign, hmmm really fuzzy on those.

Hi there everybody
I could finally manage to install two new versions of Outlook Express on
Windows 7. One is named Windows mail and the other one is
named Windows Live Mail 8. I know WM and WLM are not the same as OE, but I
mean the interfaces are very similar. Now I have two
problems with both versions. The first problem is, neither one reads the
number of unread messages in my Inbox. the very bad
problem is , JAWS does not distinguish between the read messages and unread
messages. It only keeps saying unread, unread, unread.
I tried that with both WM and WLM8. I also tried both of them with all these
versions of JAWS: 10, 11 and 13.

Is there any kind of solution, script, setting, manipulation, configuration
or newer version of WLM or JAWS that can solve this
problem? For example if I add a piece of code to the scripts, or I use newer
versions of WLM or I use JAWS 14, this problem can be
solved?

[JAWS-Users] Window's Mail Hanging

2013-08-13 Thread Patricia Zoellers
I seem to be experiencing some frequent occurrences of emails hanging in WM
on windows 7 laptop.

This is what's going on...

If an email is open, and other emails are coming into the inbox, then jaws
doesn't speak until I have to alt tab away from that email and back again.
Also, if forwarding an email, this is where it seems to really hang, it
doesn't let me tab through the header fields, in fact I really can't do
anything. I try to close the email and most times it doesn't close or if it
does, then message pops up asking if I want to save it, I have to say yes,
so it will finally close.
Then when that happens, the inbox list of emails, Jaws says, unselected. I
have to close the program and go back in again to fix it.

Does anyone know what could be causing all of this to happen and is there
any fix for it?

Thanks,

Patricia

I know this is all correct what you said Rick, my LP was doing that just few
months back, the printer and computer was in one location and was hooked up
to the modem, my LP was networked to it.

Thanks, this printer has the capability to connect to the router or
computer. right now it is connected to the computer. I read somewhare that
if connected to the router it can be remotely accessed. You need the network
password. I no longer can locate that information. Will do more searching.

Hi Patricia and Lenny,
While it's true that a printer connected to a computer can be shared over a
network,
it is not a true network printer.
A wired network printer is connected directly to your modem or router via
ethernet cable.
In a typical shared printer configuration, the printer and the computer it's
plugged into must be on
for let's say, a laptop to access it.
The advantage of a network printer is that it connects directly to your
modem or router via an Ethernet cable.
This allows any computer on your network to access the printer whether they
are connected to the network
by wire or wirelessly.
In this configuration typically, desktop computers are connected via
Ethernet cables to the modem or router, and laptops wirelessly.
Remember, the wireless connection only exists between the laptop and the
modem or router, not the printer, for example.
As long as the laptop has access to the network, it should be able to use
the printer anywhere within range
of the access point.
There is probably a way to print to a printer from a remote location via the
internet,
but I have never done it, and would be concerned with the security
of the network.
HTH,
Rick Justice

Tomorrow's another day, another way!
and if tomorrow never comes, problem solved!

Run the network setup wizard on the XP system to allow file and printer
sharing. Then locate it over the network from the lap top and connect up to
the printer. More directions are available if required, but that will get
you started.

Hi Patricia,
I would opt for a network printer instead.
If the wireless connection between your computer and printer fails,
you will more than likely need someone sighted to re-establish the
connection.
With a network printer, you can still print from your laptop without wires.

I wonder if your laptop is trying to conserve battery power by turning
off the wireless adapter after it's been idle for a while. Might look
under device manager, find your wireless adapter, bring up the context
menu, go to properties. Under one of those tabs should be something
similar to allow power management of this device. Try unchecking that
and see what happens.

Minite hasn't had Adobe Flash for several months now, due to a copyright
issue.

What you need to do is get to the installer, if you see three buttons with
the first being unlabeled, the second is I and the third is Q. Click the
unlabeled button with your spacebar, that is the button that you are
agreeing to their license terms. Then, click the I Install button.

You might try convenient OCR to see if the install button might be announced
as well. It is a lot harder upgrading Adobe Flash now than it used to be
when it was available through Minite. Oh, and another idea, go into Adobe
Flash options and set it to notify you of updates.

My guess based on what you say is to check your power settings under the
control panel. If you leave your laptop plugged in and use it basically as
a desktop replacement, then try putting it on that power management level,
that way it won't try to turn things off to conserve power if there is
inactivity.

[JAWS-Users] Wireless Adapter

2013-07-29 Thread Patricia Zoellers
I seem to have some sort of issue with my ASUS laptop running window's 7, I
don't think this is a window's issue.

If my laptop is idle for long periods of time, then I seem to loose internet
connection, I know this from what it states in the system's tray as no
internet access. So when this occurs, I press enter on that item, then
windows trouble shooter does something to check out reason why no internet
connection, it will in most cases fix the problem, but also it's giving me
reasons as to what could be causing this to happen in the first place.
It's always the same thing..
stating it's loose cable or plug in an ether net cable to the laptop, or
sometimes it states issues with the wireless adapter.

The cable modem is currently plugged to the xp desktop computer, I am about
15 feet from this modem with the laptop, so I'm wondering why this keeps
occurring and how it can be corrected. Is there some setting maybe that is
set to time out for my internet connection that needs to be changed, and if
so, where do I do that at?

Thanks for any help..

Patricia

Well, I like Flor's choices better. Why do we need these anyways?
All it did was cause me to have to keep closing something many times, I like
the choice of not having to deal with any of that.

When it asks you to close all tabs simply tab over to a check box that says
something like close all or something of that nature. How you proceed is
normally quite obvious, but it's all in tab order on that screen. No fuss or
anything else.

Press the Windows key. in the Search Box, type Control. (This will bring

Hi. I think you might be confused. This is a site where you can shop online,
at sores like staples, dell drugstore, and those points will come back on
your credit card, so that you can get rewards like gift cards. I used to use
this all the time and suddenly I can't shop anymore. Hope that made a little
more sense. Also sorry for the spelling, I hit send before it was done spell
checking. Thanks, Patricia for answering my question.

Hi all. I've come across something which really frustrates me and I don't
know how to get anything done regarding this. I have a credit card that when
purchases are made though this site, bonus points accumulate and you get
more faster. Unfortunately when I click on any store in their, be it
Staples, or Dell or anything, when the page comes up where I can be linked
to their site to purchase anything i hear retailer.htm. No matter what
screen reader I use, this always comes up. I'm guessing, that the links just
need a proper label to be able to be clicked on. first is there anyone else
on this list who uses a Bank of America world points credit card, and second
but more importantly, is there anyone who can help me write to the
corporation to at least try to tellt hem what's going on? No matter how i
