Hi,
The fix was most likely a restart, because that system came from Wind 7.

Did you get this resolved? When I " a.. Select the Start JAWS at the Log On

Win 10 and Jaws 17.

I am having difficulty with the Jaws start up. Jaws does not start
automatically nor do I get the Windows chimes at start up. I have followed
the steps in the Jaws help dialogue:
a.. Select the Start JAWS at the Log On Screen check box.
b.. Clear the Start JAWS after Log On for all Users check box.
c.. Select Always in the Start JAWS after Log On for this User combo box.
d.. click OK to save settings.
Each time I do the above I get chimes when I click OK and Jaws goes silent
and I have to hit escape to get it talking again.
When I go back to the dialogue the first two check marks are reversed.
The same settings are set in the start up wizard. What am I doing wrong?

2015-12-07 Thread T. Civitello
The problem seems to be that when I make a change to the start options to
load jaws at login that Window 10 displays a message asking if I want to
allow Freedom Scientific to make a change to my system which is not visible
to Jaws. It does this regardless of where I make the change, in the basic
menu or the startup wizard. With sighted help I have checked the option to
allow the change but it still doesn't work. When I shut down and restart the
option has been changed to load Jaws after login. Tom

Tom,

Not a Windows 10 expert, but it sounds like you first need to shut off Win
10 protection from making those types of changes. It sounds like the old
