 Hi,
Here is one more thing to try. Go to options in the tools menu and on the
general page make sure that you have the checkmark for Automatically
display folders with unread messages. I think it might make a difference.
I seem to remember that when I was setting up outlook express that that was
the thing that did the trick. But it has been a while. But I think that if
that is clicked the folders will always be displayed as long as there is at
least one unread message somewhere in the folders.

Well in the past I've never had to use the right arrow to keep opening my

 particular folder within outlook express,
I had no trouble at all, but now, when I move messages from the inbox to
whatever folder I've created, it won't go there until I make sure the inbox

 Hello Kim;

have you deleted a OE folder by any chance?

if you have, you need to clear your deleted items, then, things will go
 back
to normal as you use to do.

Are you talking about the In box being closed in the list of folders
 you
 get
after you use the control+E command to create a folder or the Control+V
 command to move messages?

If so, press right arrow. This opens the list of folders under the In
 Box.
This also happens if you have a group of subfolders after your drafts
 folder.

The same thing applies if you're getting the message when you're in the
 main
 OE window.

 I'm
finding it hard to move my folders within outlook express, because for

 It
keeps saying inbox closed, and that's not happened to me before, until

Yes they are, but in this case, the In box can be closed with the right
arrow so the subfolders don't show up either in the main Oe window or in the
views you get when creating a new folder or moving messages.

Try using the right arrow when you're in the main window and sitting on the
In box without tabbing to the list of messages. You should hear In Box
closed.

gets too confusing remembering where everything is.
If you create all new folders while in the Inbox, then they are in a

I'm fairly certain you would.

However, one way to avoid this would be to reorganize your folders so that
they're under the drafts folder in the tree view. If you create a new
folder while the In box is highlighted, the folder is placed under the in
box, so OE treats it like a sub folder or sub menu whenever you create a
new

folder or move messages to it.

When you create a new folder, be sure the drafts folder is opened before
you

press Okay to confirm the folder name. Now you'll have a subfolder under
the drafts folder and your list of folders.

Yes they are, but in this case, the In box can be closed with the right
arrow so the subfolders don't show up either in the main Oe window or in
the

views you get when creating a new folder or moving messages.

Try using the right arrow when you're in the main window and sitting on
the

In box without tabbing to the list of messages. You should hear In Box
closed.

OK I'm confused. Why would you want to do that? Every time I make a new
folder, I'm always in the Inbox. I don't want folders off of folders.
It

gets too confusing remembering where everything is.
If you create all new folders while in the Inbox, then they are in a
treeview.

I'm fairly certain you would.

However, one way to avoid this would be to reorganize your folders so
that

they're under the drafts folder in the tree view.

Re: [JAWS-Users] I need help with outlook express please?

2009-02-04 Thread Flor Lynch
Why not create new folders under Local Folders (which is at the top level),
so that your own folders will be at the same level as Inbox, drafts, etc.
Outlook Express likes this better, too. (If your Inbox or your drafts
folder gets corrupted for some reason, and you have folders under it, they
will be corrupted too.) So, when you're creating a new folder, with your
current folder highlighted press left-arrow. You should then hear, local
folders opened. Proceed.

 get
after you use the control+E command to create a folder or the Control+V
 command to move messages?

If so, press right arrow. This opens the list of folders under the In
 Box.
This also happens if you have a group of subfolders after your drafts
 folder.

The same thing applies if you're getting the message when you're in the
 main
 OE window.

have you deleted a OE folder by any chance?

if you have, you need to clear your deleted items, then, things will go

Hi Lisa,

I think it should be worth noting that any folder you create under the Local
Folders folder will be alphabetized in order under the drafts folder
automatically. One does not need to create or be on the drafts folder for
the program to do this.

Just thought I would mention this.

Re: [JAWS-Users] I need help with outlook express please?

2009-02-04 Thread Jack
OK I'm confused. Why would you want to do that? Every time I make a new
folder, I'm always in the Inbox. I don't want folders off of folders. It
gets too confusing remembering where everything is.
If you create all new folders while in the Inbox, then they are in a
treeview.

I'm fairly certain you would.

However, one way to avoid this would be to reorganize your folders so that
they're under the drafts folder in the tree view. If you create a new
folder while the In box is highlighted, the folder is placed under the in
box, so OE treats it like a sub folder or sub menu whenever you create a new
folder or move messages to it.

When you create a new folder, be sure the drafts folder is opened before you
press Okay to confirm the folder name. Now you'll have a subfolder under

Are you talking about the In box being closed in the list of folders you
 get
after you use the control+E command to create a folder or the Control+V
 command to move messages?

If so, press right arrow. This opens the list of folders under the In
 Box.
This also happens if you have a group of subfolders after your drafts
 folder.

The same thing applies if you're getting the message when you're in the
 main
 OE window.

Hello Kim;

have you deleted a OE folder by any chance?

if you have, you need to clear your deleted items, then, things will go back
to normal as you use to do.

Re: [JAWS-Users] I need help with outlook express please?

2009-02-04 Thread Lisa Belville

I'm fairly certain you would.

However, one way to avoid this would be to reorganize your folders so that
they're under the drafts folder in the tree view. If you create a new
folder while the In box is highlighted, the folder is placed under the in
box, so OE treats it like a sub folder or sub menu whenever you create a new
folder or move messages to it.

When you create a new folder, be sure the drafts folder is opened before you
press Okay to confirm the folder name. Now you'll have a subfolder under
the drafts folder and your list of folders.

You should hear In Box
 closed.

Hi Kim;

ok, try this;

1, open OE.

2, open your inbox, with right arrow.

3, navigate to a folder, make sure, your on the folder view, not the message
view.

example, folder is named notes, you want notes highlighted, not the message
content.

with the folder highlighted,

1, alt-key,

2, down arrow until you hear,
folder sub-menu, right arrow to open menu.

3, down arrow and enter on, move folderM

now, you need to up arrow until you hear, local folders opened,

tab ok, press enter. now, you should be able to get your folder structure
organized again.

Hi David. I've got around 15 folders, so if a message comes in and I have
a folder to put that in, I use shift control v to move it, now here's the
problem, when I want to move it, or when I press control y and try to go
to the folder to move the message to, it won't go unless the inbox is
opened. Somehow, the inbox seems to close and I have to press right arrow
to open it again, before I can move the message into its folder, but this
hasn't happened to me before. I was always able to press control y and go
to a particular folder with no problems, and the same with control shift
v, I was able to move messages to their prospective folders, but not now
it seems the inbox keeps closing. I know it sounds daft, but there it is.

they are just folders to hold some wanted saved email right?

they are not folders attached to message rules/filters are they?

what you could do is?

Hi David. I think I followed your instructions, but the same has
happened. I deleted everything in the delete folder, close OE,and opened
it again, but to no avail.

Now you'll have a subfolder under
the drafts folder and your list of folders.

Howdy. Does this mean that I have to press right arrow all the time,
instead of me being able to move my files to different folders as I have
been able in the past? what I want to do is not actually having to keep
reopening the inbox all the time.

Are you talking about the In box being closed in the list of folders you
get
after you use the control+E command to create a folder or the Control+V
command to move messages?

If so, press right arrow. This opens the list of folders under the In
Box.
This also happens if you have a group of subfolders after your drafts
folder.

The same thing applies if you're getting the message when you're in the
main
OE window.

Re: [JAWS-Users] I need help with outlook express please?

2008-08-07 Thread Victor Gouveia
Hi KK,

You can virtualize the window with insert+control+W, which will allow you to
move through the window, then copy the line, that should be further down the
page.

If you find yourself on one of the buttons, keep tabbing and you'll
eventually get to the error message.

If you don't see an error message, that means the errors tab isn't in focus,
so do a control+tab to put it in focus, then, if not in the area that
details the error, tab around until you get to it, but you'll still want to
virtualize the window to copy and paste the error into a message for us.

Oh, I almost forgot.

If you tab around and you aren't getting any details, either on the error or
the status of the mail retrieval, then that means that details are not being
shown, so there should be a button called show details, or just plain
details, and press the spacebar to show the details, then use the virtual
cursor to go through the information in that window to copy it for us.

Hi everyone. I'm trying to send attachments, but just as it's nearing
the completion of sending it, it keeps on giving me this error message,
I've had my IP helping me trying to get the settings right, which seems
to be in order, but still I get this error message, so you guys are my
 last resort.
 Thanks heaps. kk.

How big is the file you are trying to send?
Does it happen with all files or just this one?
What type of file is it? MP3? EXE? DOC?

 Hi KK,

You can virtualize the window with insert+control+W, which will allow you
 to
move through the window, then copy the line, that should be further down
 the
 page.

If you find yourself on one of the buttons, keep tabbing and you'll
eventually get to the error message.

If you don't see an error message, that means the errors tab isn't in
 focus,
so do a control+tab to put it in focus, then, if not in the area that
details the error, tab around until you get to it, but you'll still want
 to
virtualize the window to copy and paste the error into a message for us.

 Oh, I almost forgot.

If you tab around and you aren't getting any details, either on the error
 or
the status of the mail retrieval, then that means that details are not
 being
shown, so there should be a button called show details, or just plain
details, and press the spacebar to show the details, then use the virtual
cursor to go through the information in that window to copy it for us.

Ever since say a couple of days ago, it's been giving me problems. Mind you,
I did have one of my tutors come and fix one problem, only to get another
one. What was happening, was, that I would get an error message everytime I
sent an email, but no trouble sending attachments. Now it's the other way
round.kk.

Re: [JAWS-Users] I need help with outlook express please?

2008-08-07 Thread kk.
No I sent the email, but I kept getting this error message every time, but
when I sent a single track as an attachment, it went ok. Now I don't get
error messages when I'm sending ordinary emails, but as I said before, the
attachments are giving me problems. I'm waiting to hear if Rangs got my
attachments yesterday. I got into my sent folder and found that I sent six
attachments, but when I looked into my outbox, they were still there. This
sounds rather confusing doesn't it?

You can't send attachments to this list. They are filtered out for good
 reason.

Sorry it has only happened in the last few days, so it used to send
attachments very well. I've been sending single tracks and I've never
 had
 trouble before. kk.

Hi everyone. I'm trying to send attachments, but just as it's nearing
the completion of sending it, it keeps on giving me this error
 message,
I've had my IP helping me trying to get the settings right, which
 seems
to be in order, but still I get this error message, so you guys are
 my
 last resort.
 Thanks heaps. kk.

Re: [JAWS-Users] I need help with outlook express please?

2008-08-07 Thread Patricia Dunbar
Check with your ISP on how big a file you can send in an attachment. If they
are sitting in the outbox, press control-M to try to push them out.
But really sounds more like a file too large to send as an attachment issue

No I sent the email, but I kept getting this error message every time,
 but
when I sent a single track as an attachment, it went ok. Now I don't
 get
error messages when I'm sending ordinary emails, but as I said before,
 the
attachments are giving me problems. I'm waiting to hear if Rangs got my
attachments yesterday. I got into my sent folder and found that I sent
 six
attachments, but when I looked into my outbox, they were still there.
 This
 sounds rather confusing doesn't it?

Sorry, but how could you have sent an attachment but not an email?
You'll have to provide more information before we can help you.

Ever since say a couple of days ago, it's been giving me problems. Mind
 you,
I did have one of my tutors come and fix one problem, only to get
 another
one. What was happening, was, that I would get an error message
 everytime
 I
sent an email, but no trouble sending attachments. Now it's the other
 way
 round.kk.

How big is the file you are trying to send?
Does it happen with all files or just this one?
What type of file is it? MP3? EXE? DOC?
