[JAWS-Users] JFW V. 14 crashing Windows Exploer under Windows 7
Hi all, I am running JFW V. 14 under Windows 7 Pro on a 64-bit Dell PC. When I copy files from one folder to another folder, Windows Exploer often crashes. I then need to go into the task manager and end the task. When I cannot end the task then I need to reboot my PC. The Windows Exploer crash occurs under JFW V. 14 and not JFW V. 13. So I'm guessing that the crash is particular to JFW V. 14. Has anyone experienced this crash under JFW V. 14? If so then I would appreciate any tips on how to get around this problem using JFW V. 14. Thanks. Rob For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/

Press windows key plus E Tab or shift tab to command module. Left arrow to preview pane and enter to uncheck if checked. Re: [JAWS-Users] JFW V. 14 crashing Windows Exploer under Windows 7
I doubt it has much to do with JFW, for I have seen the same thing with Window-eyes if I move enough files. My best answer is to pay closer attention; when things slow down nuke explorer and relaunch it. There is also a hotfix for explorer and network situations, you might try grabbing it and see if it helps you. i On 11/25/2012 10:12, Robert Arrabito wrote: Hi all, I am running JFW V. 14 under Windows 7 Pro on a 64-bit Dell PC. Here is what I did for others that eliminated the problem for them 1. In Windows Explorer, go to the tools menu, and then Folder Options. 2. Control Tab to the View tab, and then tab to the tree-view of settings. 3. Press the letter S, until Jaws says: show preview handlers in the preview Payne. 4. More than likely, this is checked, press the spacebar to uncheck it. 5. Tab to the apply button, spacebar that, then tab to okay, and spacebar that to close the dialogue. Re: [JAWS-Users] JFW V. 14 crashing Windows Exploer under Windows 7
I have been having the same problem with the Windows Explorer crashing in Jaws 14. I followed these directions exactly and the preview pane was already turned off. And it does not crash with Jaws 13. It is rather a bother to have paid for version 14 and to be unable to use it. Re: [JAWS-Users] JFW V. 14 crashing Windows Exploer under Windows 7
I never had the preview pane turned on, but I will try turning off the handlers anyway. Maybe having a slower CPU is a good thing, I can usually notice I'm in trouble and restart explorer before it totally crashes on me.
