Hi,all, While on the subject of jaws updates, I called FS today and ordered my jfw 16 upgrade along with SMA and was wondering hlow long it takes to prosses the ordewr. I just wondered as I tried to activate my copy and was told that this lisence was fir a earlier version of jfw. Is it possible to return a authorization to the server if needed. Thanks. Yes Mike, I got the same thing you did. My user account came up and asked me if I wanted to make changes and since it was FS, I went ahead. It appears no changes were made. I just ignored it after I said yes and was alt tabbing and I saw checking for updates. This may take a few minutes. Then, after a few minutes, I saw you have the latest version of Jaws. So, when I saw that, I just got out of it. It's probably better to install JAWS updates from the Freedom Scientific web site http://www.freedomscientific.com/JAWSHQ/JAWSHeadquarters01than it is to download the patch that you get when you download updates from the notices. Downloading from the FS site takes longer, but you get a completely new version rather than a patch grafted on to your resident version. Once you get to the main site, hit the downloads link and follow instructions to your particular product - be careful to select either 32 bit or 64 bit as appropriate - or perhaps like adobe the site can tell what you have resident on your computer. At the end of the download you will not get a set up wizard like you get when you first download a new version. From my experience, the download will maintain all of your JAWS settings. You go to the freedom scientific downloads page but you can find the update in your jaws menu under the help menu just hit enter on the option that says check for updates and it will find it and ask you if you want to install it. hi trish: yes, a new update has just been released. I presume it addresses the research it issue, but since I just saw it after your post, I haven't installed it. Making a new folderHi List! I am using a Windows 7 laptop with JAWS 15 and Windows Mail as my email client and am having a senior half hour. I can't remember how to make a new folder and would appreciate instructions for a computer illiterate or directions on where to go to find out. Tia. Hi Linda, While in Windows Mail press, control, shift, + E, you'll be in a edit field so, type in the name of the folder, tab 1 time , arrow up to Local Folders, tab 1 time to the okay button, press the spacebar, the new folder will be in your folder list. Hi: I have JAWS12.0.528 installed and have downloaded JAWS12.0.1167 (latest), I assume the 1167 versions have all fixes included for JAWS12, so I guess if I install version 1167 all updates will be included?
