Just a guess on my part but the fact is key combinations are getting complicated because there are so many is all. Re: [JAWS-Users] Links with mouse over
I don't wish to reveal too much, but i did hear on the JAWS 11 FSCast that JAWS 12 is going to have a utility where we can use layered mode and define what keys we want to use it with, something like that. But we will have to wait and see. Re: [JAWS-Users] Links with mouse over
The key combination, Insert + Control + NumPad Enter, should activate whatever JavaScript code is attached to that element. The biggest problem is figuring out what the code is supposed to do to the page. The code may add material to the page above or below the element, it could change the colors, or just about anything creative the designer can think of. I think JAWS can now announce some changes to the page, similar to frame updates. Don, thanks. In the example I cited it said something about changes at line 14. I still see no way to activate this link. Can it be done or is the additional info just for informational purposes? thanks Al -Original Message- From: jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com]on Behalf Of Donald Marang Sent: Tuesday, March 30, 2010 7:53 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Links with mouse over The key combination, Insert + Control + NumPad Enter, should activate whatever JavaScript code is attached to that element. If there is any change, it will reference the change at line number xxx. XXX being that specific line number. Then, hit J followed by the line number it referenced to jump to that line. Re: [JAWS-Users] Links with mouse over
I do not think JAWS attempts to understand what the mouse over JavaScript will do, or analyze the new additions to the page to determine what has been added. As previously stated, JAWS reports the line where the new content has been placed. The new content could be anything, like explanatory text, similar to a ToolTip. It could be an entire new submenu or. However, I can not imagine a case where that would not be a bad design. Yeah, I just looked that up in the JAWS help, which stated, Jump to a specific line with J, And return to the starting point before the jump with Shift+J. At least this helps you move to the new content and easily get back, if needed.
